Overview
If you are having problems with MoW AS2, try some of these steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Troubleshooting
Can’t Launch The Game / Freezes
If you are unable to launch the game, make sure you try launching in Safemode (No Mods)
This can be found when hitting the play button in your steam library, if it does launch you will want to try to disable any mods from the workshop.
You will need to contact the author of the mod to figure out why this is occuring. It could be because the mod is not up to date, in which case give them some time to update it.
If you have a [NO SDL] file error, you can fix this by cleaning your steam cloud, to do this follow these steps.
1. Find MoW AS2 in your steam library
2. Right click and select properties.
3. Select launch options and enter exactly as follows
-reset_cloud_profiles
4. Now locate Documents / My Games / Men of War Assault Squad 2
5. You will see a profiles folder, rename this folder to anything you would like i.e. profile2
6. Launch the game.
This is related to an anti virus blocking the application from launching, more information is available here.

The game requires DirectX 10 and a graphics card that is suitable for DirectX 10 applications, if you are receiving errors in regards to this make sure your graphics card model meets these standards. You can also try installing driver updates from your graphics card providers website.
This is generally caused by an outdated graphics card driver or a graphics card that does not meet system requirements.
Locate your game install folder, generally located
Launch the game exe from there.
api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing
MSVCR110.dll is missing
Make sure you have your windows fully updated.
Locate and run vcredist x86 in your commonredist folder located inside of your game install location.
C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommon
Some systems require administrative rights to run the game, if you are having problems please try to run the game exe as admin.
You can locate the exe here by default
There are some issues that are not covered, but here is a good way to make sure everything is up to standards. Only follow these steps if you have covered everything else.
1. Locate your files under Documents / My Games
– Rename the folder ‘this will save your previous saved games so you can recover them at a future date’
2. In steam select the game, properties, and disable the steam cloud.
3. Locate the steam workshop and unsubscribe from all mods.
– Most errors originate from mods that are out of date or conflict with one another.
4. Manually delete the game files located in your steam install folder
C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommon
5. If it says the game is still installed on steam, uninstall it through steam.
6. Reinstall the game, do not download any mods and attempt to play.
Multiplayer Errors
If you are trying to join a game and receive this, it could mean that you have a mod enabled, or the host has a mod enabled. You can disable your mods in your options under the mod tab. If you want to join a modded game you will need to go to the workshop and download said mods.
In some cases some users downloads are corrupted and display the wrong version, this can be fixed by going to your men of war install folder
Generally located here
C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonMen of War Assault Squad 2
You will see files named 1.pat 2.pat 3.pat etc.
Delete these files, now go to your steam library and select mow as2 properties, and verify the integrity of the game.
Also you can check to make sure that you do not have the beta client enabled under the properties as well.
The game will need access to your C:/ drive, if you do have it on a seperate drive make sure its speeds are that of an internal hard drive. Having it installed on a slower external hard drive can lead to long caching times and you will want to install the game on the internal drive to prevent this.
Out of sync errors can occur and are something that you are not able to prevent. If they occur restart your game to clean out your shader cache and you can begin playing again. We are working to resolve these issues.
Make sure you do not have a firewall blocking peer2peer connections. You will also want to make sure that the ports required are open. These ports can be found in this article.
