Overview
This guide covers the best ways to use assault rifles.
A Priori
First, consider that the Aalto Storm Rifle (SR), the Catara mo.II (LMG) and the Dusk Rifle, for almost all purposes, function as the German Rifle STG-44 (although its appearance is that of an FG-42), the British Bren Light Machine Gun and the Dusk corresponds to the Soviet PPSH-41, respectively.

1) When Attacking Defensive Structures
Firstly, consider that to attack defensive structures without smoke grenades it is usually necessary to have a squad of at least 3 men and that weapons such as the bolt action rifle, the pitch gun and the pistols generally do not work well in this scenario.
When sighting the enemy structure all members of the squadron must open fire on it until it suffers the effect of suppression, which is when its flag turns white. Then the light machine gunner/assault rifleman must continue to fire while the others advance and throw HE grenades. In such a situation what you want is to keep the defense surpessed.
2) Against Enemies in the Open Field
If, when you encounter the enemy in the open field, you have a squad of at least 3 men, the one who has the assault rifle should keep the enemies distracted while a part of the squad flanks their position. Even if he needs to move, the assault rifleman should keep the enemy pinned for as long as needed to flank the enemy troops.
The assault rifle’s range are comparable to the other rifles, nonetheless their stability gain is too low for them to hit all of the shoots past the 20m mark, reason why they should be used as a support gun.
Even if not in a squad, if a player sees hes teamates with automatic weapons distracting the enemy, he should imediatly flank him. For that consider that this kind of strategy only works if done outside of the enemy field of view.
3) Crewing an Armored Personal Carrier (APC)
Wardens
If you are going to man the rear of an APC in an assault, use the SR only if you do not have a Fiddler Gun SMG at your disposal, as the damage caused by the Storm Rifle in automatic fire mode is identical to that of the SMG and this one is also more accurate at the automatic fire mode.
Colonials
The Dusk Rifle is as inacurate as the Aalto Storm Rifle when firing in motion, nonetheless its as capable as the former as a replacement for a proper SMG.
The LMG is completely useless in this scenario.
4) Shooting in Motion
The Aalto SR and the Dusk can be used as a submachine guns to run and shoot, yet due to their high level of recoil, their accuracy is greatly reduced. So this tactic only works over short distances and within trenches, however, once you’ve dispersed your enemies and it’s dangerous to continue the chase, I’d suggest switching to the semi-automatic fire mode on the Aalto SR to do more damage to individual soldiers. Even the LMG can be used in this way if the operator is not too heavy with equipment, but it can be dagerous to do it alone.
For the “Burst” Assault rifles such as the Booker and the Fuscina, its recommended to look for cover to stabilize the gun before shooting, or take the knee. Walls, rocks and trees can provide stability buffs if you stand behind or besides them.
