Overview
Are you looking to play Wizard101 on Steam, but you are currently residing outside of the US? This the perfect guide to follow on how to complete the action above, and continue with all of your character progress from the main game!Disclaimer: Although it is possible for any country outside of the US to play the game, Kingisle Entertainment may patch this in the future with Steam, to stop people from doing this. Alternatively, if they do stop you, it may be because you will be able to play this game outside of the US on Steam shortly, making this guide redundant in the future.If you’re reading this KI… This guide is only in place to allow people with the interest in playing the game access through Steam instead of through the traditional launcher! Please, if this is an issue to yourselves, and you would like me to make changes to this guide, or remove it completely… Please contact me first! What you will need to perform this;
This list may seem a bit dumb, but to cover it in the easiest detail, will be the best way to explain this 🙂
Typically, a lot of VPN services are paid for, but if you can find one yourself which is a free-use/limited time use, I would suggest using it for this job.
Please bare in mind, you WILL need a VPN which offers a connection to the US
However, if you are unable to find one you are happy enough to use, I will suggest to following for the job;
(These are not paid advertisements, but more of ones I prefer to use)
1. Windscribe[windscribe.com]
Offers a limited amount of GB a month, and several locations including the US
You can also pay monthly for specific locations around the world, but don’t worry, the US has a few locations which come completely free!
2. NordVPN[nordvpn.com]
Although it’s primarily a paid for service, Nord offers a FREE trial which can be located with the link below.

NordVPN has the exact same features as Windscribe, however, Windscribe would be a better choice due to it being free monthly.

If you are skilled enough to go ahead and make your own one, then you a get gold star!
How to do it… (Step by Step)
For this example, I will be using Windscribe as mentioned in the part above.
Start a Connection to the desired VPN service of choice, and then select a location within the US…
Proceed to close down Steam after the VPN connection to ‘flush your previous IP‘
(This is only optional, I ran through by doing this method. But it’s up to you)
Find Steam on your taskbar, right-click, and then click Exit Steam
Proceed to load up the official Steam website on a web browser of your choice.

(If the link above does not work, it means it is re-directing you to the Steam home page on the app, and if so, you may just have to type this in yourself)
Once the page has loaded, if you see a game on the main homepage being displayed in $ (US Dollar), this means you have successfully connected to the US homepage for Steam.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
DO NOT login to Steam on the web browser, if you happen to already be logged in, make sure you sign out before continuing. This could lead to the following section below called ‘Uh oh’
Proceed to search for ‘Wizard 101’ in the Search the Store box.
If you have done this correctly, the following should show up.
Proceed to click on the search result to load up the main Wizard101 Store page.
If you have made it this far, but the following search has come up, or the entire ‘Wizard101’ game has just failed to even make an appearance
This typically means either something has gone wrong, or you may need to check your VPN connection before continuing.
Alternatively, you could also be logged into your Steam account still on the browser and you will need to be logged out before you can continue.
If the following page comes up for you, Congratulations you have done it! and you deserve a cup of tea for all of your hard work!
If you haven’t got Steam open at this point, proceed to open it back up.
Click the following button while on the main game page for Wizard101
This should then prompt the following box on your screen.
If so, click on: Yes, Steam is installed.
Once you have confirmed you have Steam installed, you should have the following box appear on your Steam application…
Confirm the install/download location as you would normally for any Steam game
You’ve done it!
Or at least I hope so anyway…
If you have now got the download for Wizard101 installing, which can always be found at any time on the bottom of the Steam application:
Then you should be able to play within a few minutes!
Returning Player Information
After installing the game, you will probably find out that the following/similar message may appear on the game launcher when you try to log in using an existing account…
You are unable to use your Wizard101 Website account
Or…
You are unable to use this account on Steam
If this is the case…
Please follow the guide linked below for more information on how to can essentially transfer your account from the main launcher, onto the Steam one… As explained in the guide below will be all of the following steps, which should be easy enough to follow along too 🙂
