Overview
This guide will help you understand Enderal’s difficulty over Skyrim. This guide was made when I had over 500 hours spent in the world of Enderal.
Content
- what does it means and how to survive with it.
- keeping yourself alive during whole experience
- how to progress
- importance of the skills usage
- ways to travel across the Enderal country(Mounts and teleportation system)
- off topic but game related notes (aka something extra helpful)
Starting
- After Creating your character and getting thrown on the Beach with not too much sense of what is going on, you’ll explore your way around finding your way to Jespar. On your journey to him you find out about the Arcane fever that will plague you for the rest of the game and the only way to stop it is drinking Ambrosia Potions for the rest of the game play.
- This guide will be a short explanation of how to start the game properly and how to survive the encounters.
- Enderal it’s a hard game comparing to vanilla Skyrim and it’s world can be harsh leading in player dying multiple times and getting a lot of rage (also depends on the difficulty you play)
-
Combat Also comparing to Skyrim can be pretty difficulty, I’ve seen few reviews on the game about players complaining about the combat being to hard(but I bet they are only clicking and swinging the weapon in hope of killing everything)
- Remember to use everything in your advantage, traps from the dungeons, scrolls from your inventory, your spells and powers and the most important your talents !
- If you get into a hard situation do not be afraid to run and return when you are stronger enough.
Major changes vs Skyrim.
- Arcane Fever it’s a part of your game play for whole progress, it’s the disease and the curse you have to enjoy and endure.
- A)You will get Arcane Fever by healing yourself with spells and potions (this is somehow mandatory in combat) the Arcane Fever amount will depends on the potion strength.
There are also some places around the Enderal world that will be magically charged and result in player being near them to suffer x percent of Fever for time spent in there.
- B)The only way to lower the percent Arcane Fever will be the Ambrosia potions found, crafted or bought. At the start this can be a difficulty process but after a while of playing you will end up having more Ambrosia then you’ll really need. The real best way to acquire Ambrosia Potions is to craft them at alchemy station and finding the recipe scattered in the Enderal World.
Surviving
- Health does not regenerate by itself in or out of combat, you will have to provide depend on the situations potions, scrolls, spells, food. Potions, spells and scrolls will all be a part of combat and all of them will lead you in getting Arcane Fever meter up.
- A) In combat when your health drops low you are forced to use a potion or a spell that will lead you in getting Arcane Fever.(that won’t be a big deal anyway)
- B)-Food;
The main source for your health regeneration OUT OF COMBAT will be Food that can be Found, Stole,Crafted.
(it is mandatory to carry food with you all the time, and it’s very easy to acquire, there are many kinds of food, starting from bread, soups, cheese, meats etc.)
-the food you ate will give you a buff of x seconds of health regeneration 240 to 900 seconds of health regeneration buff will sustain you heath regeneration easy enough to stay full health until next battle.
- C)Sleep is also a solution for health regeneration, as there are a lot of places in the wild with huts, tents where you can sleep after defeating its occupiers.
- D)Take care with spoiled food as it will poison you instead of healing.
Progressing
- A)Leveling in enderal is provided by experience resulted from killing, exploring, crafting, questing. There is no venturing in the world of Enderal from the beginning of the game as you need to follow a pattern. This thing doesn’t make the game linear but it forces you a little to explore and gaining Experience and Level before venturing further in the country of Enderal.
- B)There are certain zones where the encounters can be very hard to beat even impossible at low level, the main quest will reveal the next zone where you can fight your way and I encourage you to explore the world of Enderal as is one of the most epic and impressive hand crafted world, with every dungeon unique in style and rare encounters, mini bosses.
- C)Upon leveling up you will get the traditional choice of selecting 1 from 3 attributes, but this time Health is +9, magicka is +8 ,stamina is +11 And crafting, learining, memory points.
Skills
- A)The Skill System in Enderal is based on Books, Books will increase 1 point upon use and will require 1 point of Learning or Crafting points depend on the type of the book. There are divided in 4 different levels :
Apprentice25
-using an apprentice book to rise a skill will only rise that skill until lvl 25
Adept50-an adept book to rise a skill will only rise that skill until lvl 50
Expert75– an expert book to rise a skill will only rise the skill until lvl 75
Master100-an master book to rise a skill will rise the skill until max lvl 100
Notice:that having a skill lower the book req will result in using the book but you will get a pop-up message notifying you about this. Is not wise to use an Expert book when they cost pretty much.
Skills in Enderal are based per Crafting, Learning, Memory points.
- B)Crafting is divided in Alchemy, Sleight of Hand(pickpoket), Lockpicking, Enchanting, Rhetoric(speech) and the last one;
-Handicraft (Handicraft in my opinion is the most important Crafting skill as it allow you to create unique items and recipes at different crafting stations and upgrade your weapons and equipment, example, the best Backpack is crafted one)
- C)Learning Points can be spent on major skills depend on the play style; One-Handed, Two-Handed, Archery, Block, Heavy Armor, Light Armor, Sneak, Psionics, Elementarism, Mentalism, Entropy, and Light Magic.
It’s the same book system.
NOTICE:The Learning Points Books are a much way expensive then Crafting Books.
- D)Memory Points are points that are gained upon level up that can be used on the Memory Trees to unlock perks. Learning Books may also be found exploring the country and giving the player +1 Memory point reward upon reading.
Memory Points classify your play style and the class you want to be Classified into Rogue, Mage , Warrior branches.
Memory points from all 3 classes will give you Passive and Active abilities to enhance your style of playing and combining them will result into much stronger effects, I won’t spoil anything and everyone is free to chose his style.
- E)Also later trees added as long with Forgotten stories expansion :
Phasmalist: allow you to construct ghostly companions for you from the souls of dead people by using your knowledge in enchanting.
Lycantrophe: allow you to use wolf blood potions and chymica as a means to transform into a werewolf.
- F)The game can be harsh and difficulty most of the times in combat. Approach carefully and never forget that you have scrolls, skills, powers, potions and talents to use within your advantage. You can become invisible, you can hide, you can cast traps and bombs, you can freeze your enemies, shields and a lot of other usable spells or items can be used to gain advantage in any combat situation.
Exploring
- Traveling in Enderal is much different comparing to the fast and traditional TES games, the most well known FAST TRAVELING.
- The fast traveling was took off the grid which was not a bad idea because there are a lot of ways to travel and explore the world of Enderal
- Ways to travel:
– Mounts (horse and donkey can be summoned everywhere in a outside location with a special item “Horse Flute” gained in inventory after getting the first mount)
-Fly Paths (Enderal introduced Fly points from X to Y by using some dragon alike creatures called Myrads, there are several major location from within player can travel)
-Teleportation Scrolls (can be found or bought and gives a major advantage of traveling fast from x to y, the scrolls consume upon use)
-An important feature will be Mark and Recall 2 spells that works together that allow player to mark a location whatever on the map and recall to it, only 1 mark spell can be active and only on an outside place, cannot be used in interior but you can teleport yourself from the interior, Example you start exploring a big dungeon and you put your mark spell at the entrance and recall yourself at the end.)
Mounts, when you get your first mount your will also get a item called Flute usable default from
bind, which will allow you to summon your mount at your location.
- 1) First game mount it’s a Donkey, rewarded from a quest at the Ark’s main gates. There is a woman that will request your help and to kill a troll and she will reward you with your first mount.
- 2) The same woman that gives you the donkey allows you to purchase a horse for a 500 gold fee. (there is a special craftable armor that will increase mount speed “Vagabond saddle”)
- 3) At the end of Rhalâta if you choose to help The Father you will get the fastest in-game mount. the wolf from down below picture.
Secrets
- There are a lot of interesting areas and secrets in Enderal for player to discover this makes the player enjoy and exploring the whole world of Enderal which is fully handcrafted and every part of the map it different from another. There are special books that learn the player very strong and useful abilities, there are overall around 15+ sets of items that will suit all play-styles and gives permanent bonuses upon wearing all set together.
- Overall the Enderal itself it’s a very strong and complex game, starting with its own huge world, lore, books, bard songs and a lot more to discover.
- Progressing trough Enderal takes time and a lot of Gold, the best way to get lot of golds is:
Selling junks, crafting potions and selling them and Deposit money into bank, as much money you have in bank the more daily interest you gain daily(the interest in free money you get every day by having a big sum of money) The maximum interest is 250G per day!
- Notice:as I did not write too much about Phasmalist and Lycantrophe as I personally didn’t try them out yet, I love this game and I have overall 500 hours of playing combined with old Enderal and the Steam released version. This game was built for free and deserve every praise because it’s very strong, complex and the story beats many AAA game out there from last years.
- Note that this is my first Guide and it may be messed up a little, I hope you understand the real meaning of it. Thank you.
