Overview
This guide will give you tips on how to be a more successful and very overpowered mage in Magicite. With this guide, good players will improve, and new ones will be able to beat the game in a breeze.
Making a character
1.Rolling the correct stats
Make sure you have atleast the skills Intelligent, and Defensive. Why? Intelligent provides that extra boost of damage and mana to be able to do high damage to forest district enemies and swoosh through early levels. The defensive perk allows for some extra hp, and a sword will not be used too often so losing 1 attack point is no problem. Having +HP, +MAG, and -DEX is very good, but if you get +HP or +HP +MAG that is good too. The reason +HP, +MAG -DEX may be better than +MAG +HP is that when a useless stat like DEX is dropped, other stats may be raised higher to balance the stats.
2.Unlocks you may need
Try to unlock some hats like the Wizard Beard, Frost Crown, or Magician’s Hat, as they will prove very useful throughout the entire run, and without them it is a big difference. They are not very difficult to unlock if you have played the game and gotten level 15, because the wizard beard can be unlocked by that level. The wizard beard is more for someone a little more experienced, or someone who does not have the Gorgon Eye. The Magician’s Hat is very useful for a mage as it can make your staffs VERY powerful. The chance to gain an additional magic point is important because damage can be a problem with a new player choosing the mage playstyle. Finally, the Frost Crown can make you maintain very high health, as you can just use up mana in towns and heal yourself.
3. Having the right skills/ picking the right skill path
Choosing the correct skills is VERY important, and although in this current update, you cannot choose the skill you get, but you can choose the path, the middle blue path is the one you want. This path is the Magic path, which can give you the following skills:
Levitate(You don’t want this)- Makes you float in the air until you fall back to the ground, which is bad because you have low ability to dodge and cannot jump at all.
Warp(This one is decent)- You can teleport left or right. Be cautious when using this, I’ve killed myself by accident on the last boss while using this.
Clairvoyance(BEST ONE)- Makes you rapidly regain mana, which makes you have pretty much unlimited mana while it is activated, and is very useful if you have high mana and no mana potions.
Necromancer’s Minion(Very Useful)- This is a very good skill when looking ahead and seeing many difficult monsters, as you can spawn a mage that does the same amount of damage you do with magic. The mage will disappear after around 4 seconds or so, or if touched by a monster. Another great feature with this ability is that the mage will not get attacked, so it can easily wipe out hoardes of enemies in a breeze.
Magic Weapons(It’s decent)- This skill adds all you magic power to your att for a brief period. Let’s say I had 50 magic, and 20 att. If I use this, I will have 70 Att while the skill is active. This is good for a warrior/mage hybrid run.
Setting Up in Early Game
Collecting the Correct Materials
You will need the following items to make all three staffs
1.Spider Webs
2.Sticks
You may say, “Well, Squiddy, why the heck do I need spider webs to build a staff?!?!”
You are right you don’t, but you need it to make a bug net. The bug net is the most important thing to make early game. You will need 4 spider webs first, and this is how you make the bug net.
1. 2 Webs+ 2 Webs
2. 1 string+ 1 string
3. 1 Net+ 1 Stick
Bam! Bug Net
The Bug Net is used to catch those funny little bugs you see flying around the dead bushes.
To make all the staffs, you will need 6 bugs in total, 2 of each kind.
2 Fire Bugs
2 Lightning Bugs
2 Ice Bugs
To make each staff you will need to craft the items as so
1 (element) Bug+ 1 (element) Bug
1 (element) Gem+ 1 Stick
Bam! Staff of your choosing…..
” Which staff is best Squiddy???” I know player, I know…
Which Staff To Use, What They Do
There are three staffs inthis game so far. I will rank them 1-3, 1 being the best.
1. Fire Staff
2.Lightning Staff
3.Ice Staff
The Fire Staff: This one is at the top because it has unlimited range, does the same damage as your magic level, which, if you did it right, pretty good damage, and goes through walls pretty effectively. This staff is used for hitting distant or close enemies that are to the right or left of you, and they can be knocked out of the game without even seeing you.
The Lightning Staff: The lightning staff is very useful for two reasons. Firstly, you can use it to easily kill stacked up enemies that are blocking a path above or below you. Second, you can use it to kill enemies in front of you that are about to hit you, as the staff creates a wall of lightning slightly in front, top, and bottom of you. It looks like this
The Ice Staff: This staff is worst, but not bad in any way. It makes a field of three revolving snow flakes around you that do a good amount of damage depending on your magic, and can be useful when dealing with quick or flying enemies. You just use the staff and for a short duration the snowflakes go around you hurting anything that touches them.
So, in my opinion, make all three. They are unique and each one is useful in their own situations, but if you are somehow short on wood or something like that, make the fire staff over all the others.
Gearing Up- Later Game(Acquiring Armor and Tools)
To have good damage, you will need to make robes. You may be used to selling that stupid monster pelt that clogs up your scarce inventory slots, but now you will need monster pelts.
Do not sell them. And to avoid clogging up your inventory, a trick I use is to make just enough cloth to make armor with, so when I make the armor, all that is left is the extra pelts, and no extra cloth, becuase I can always craft more cloth. To make one set of mage armor, you need the following items:
12 Monster Pelts
12 Ore of the same kind (Stone, Bone, Iron, Gold, Diamond)
First you need to be in a town to even smelt your ore or craft the armor.
Next, take your materials and combine 6+6
6 Pelts+6 Pelts
6 Ore+6 Ore
Take your cloth and your metal and craft the clothing you want. Note:If you don’t have 12 of these things, you can use 6 and make one piece of the armor.
Tools:
Make a pickaxe before you make a sword, unless you already have a gold pickaxe. This is because a pickaxe allows you to mine better ores to rise quicker through the tierss of armor and tools.
Beating The Boss
The boss, is well…. very easy as a mage.
Just spray him down, that’s it. Try to just wipeout any garbage minions in the Scourge Lair. They take about 100 damage to kill for the floaty heads, and 50 damage for the spear people. That’s kinda it. Thank you for reading my first guide, and good luck fellow mage players.
