Gamemode Guide for Ravenfield: Multiplayer Mod

Gamemode Guide

Overview

This guide will walk you through the various game modes you can play with your friends. Please let me know on discord at Bobthecowwwww#4235 if you have any more game modes you would like to add or if there are any errors.

CTF (Capture the Flag)

Capture the Flag is the default game mode for RFMP and can be played on all maps except Temple Push. The recommended player count for CTF is any number above or equal to 2 (although it’s more fun with more people and if the number is even).

Rules:
1. The primary objective is to capture all flags or score 100 points more than the other team (or more depending on the game length)
2. All vehicles and weapons are allowed

Monthly Prize Match

The monthly prize match is just like CTF but the person with the highest score at the end wins the “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!” role on the discord and maybe even one month of Nitro Classic! The recommended player count for the monthly prize match is any number above or equal to 10 (although it’s more fun with more people and if the number is even).

Recommended Rules:
1. It is a regular RFMP match: eagle vs raven CTF.
2. The score for any given player in any given match starts at 0 and increases by the number of flags that player’s team has every time that player kills a member of the opposing team.
3. Deaths are not factored into scoring. Hence, being killed due to auto-balance should not affect anything.
4. No switching teams except if forced to by auto-balance.
5. Team-killing is NOT advantageous. For each team-kill, you will get -1 kill (and consequently a lower score).
6. Everyone on the winning team for any given match gets +50 score.
7. For balance sake, NO (ABSOLUTELY NO) helis.
8. No use of any glitches. Map exploits are allowed, however.
9. Cheating in any way (auto clicker, etc.) will result in an immediate DQ.
10. It is the event organizer’s duty to balance the teams
11. Absolutely NO BEING TOXIC.
12. The person with the highest score will the “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!” role and one month of Nitro Classic.

World War Themed

World War Themed is a game mode that can only be played on Trench Warfare. The recommended player count for World War Themed is any number above or equal to 2 (although it’s more fun with more people and if the number is even).

Rules:
1. The primary objective is to capture all flags or score 100 points more than the other team (or more depending on the game length)
2. Only World War era weapons (Primaries: Springfield, K-98, MG-42, FG-42, M1 Garret, Greaser, MP40, Thompson; Secondaries: Condor; Tertiaries: Frag, Balisong, Bolo) are allowed
3. The only map that can be played on is Trench Warfare

Vietnam War Themed

Vietnam War Themed is a game mode that can only be played on PV Engagement. The recommended player count for Vietnam War Themed is any number above or equal to 2 (although it’s more fun with more people and if the number is even).

Rules:
1. The primary objective is to capture all flags or score 100 points more than the other team (or more depending on the game length)
2. Only Vietnam War era weapons (Primaries: RK44, Quicksilver, Greaser, M1 Garret, Thompson, Springfield, K98, MP40, FG42; Secondaries: Condor; Tertiaries: Rocket Launcher, Balisong, Med Bag, Ammo Bag)
3. The only map that can be played on is PV Engagement

Zombies

Zombies is one of the oldest custom game modes. The recommended player count for Zombies is any number above or equal to 4 (although it’s more fun with more people).

Rules:
1. One person (the zombie) joins raven while everyone else (the survivors) joins eagle
2. The first zombie is allowed to use a secondary for its first kill
3. Zombies are only allowed to use the balisong or bolo after the first kill
4. All survivors can only use secondaries and either one ammo bag/one med bag
5. The last survivor may use his primary as well
6. The last survivor becomes the zombie for the next round

Comp (Competitive)

Comp is one of the hardest game modes to effectively implement, but at least it works on all maps (except Temple Push). The recommended player count for CTF is any number above or equal to 4 (although it’s more fun with more people and if the number is even).

Rules:
1. Only members of predetermined teams are allowed to play
2. Both sides must have equal numbers of people
3. No vehicles are allowed
4. Each “round” starts with everyone at one life at their respective spawns (preferably original spawns)
5. Those who get eliminated must prone at their original spawn to let everyone know that they are eliminated
6. A round ends when only one team remains
7. The winning team for each round gets a point; the winning team for an entire match is the team with the most points (the endpoint can be arbitrarily determined)

[INSERT WEAPON(S)] Only

[INSERT WEAPON(S)] Only is a fun game mode for testing weapons which can be played on any map (even Temple Push). The recommended player count for [INSERT WEAPON(S)] Only is any number above or equal to 2 (although it’s more fun with more people and if the number is even).

Rules:
1. The primary objective is to capture all flags or score 100 points more than the other team (or more depending on the game length)
2. Only [INSERT WEAPON(S)] is/are allowed
3. Permission to use vehicles is up to the match organizer

Some recommended weapons to try: Balisong, bolo, knives in general, secondaries, etc.

KOTH (King of the Hill)

KOTH is a fun game mode for RFMP and can be played on all maps except Temple Push, both Bridges and Towers Maps, Metropolis, and Trench Warfare. The recommended player count for KOTH is any number above or equal to 4 (although it’s more fun with more people and if the number is even).

Rules:
1. The team to hold the designated objective by the end of the time limit wins (recommend time limit is anywhere from 5 minutes (small maps) – 10 minutes (big maps))
2. If a team manages to trigger the banner animation by acquiring 100 points over the opposing team and holds the designated flag, that team wins. However, if they do not hold the flag, it is a draw.
3. When the match ends, the current map will be skipped to a pre-approved map.
4. No helicopters are allowed
5. No one is allowed to spawn directly “on the hill.” In order to change your spawn, press L and press the arrows above the mini-map. The only exception to this rule is if all other flags are not available for spawning.

Pre-approved map list and target objectives:
CQC Hell: Mid (Point B)
Blip’s Testing Zone: Mid (Point A)
Stakeout/Stakeout Night: Sewer (Point C)
Kingsland/Kingsland Night: Mid (Point A)
Island/Island Night: Farm (Point C)
Temple: Temple (Point A) (WARNING: significant Raven bias)
FTGU: Two-Story Building (Point D)
PV Engagement: Close SE point (Point C) (WARNING: slight Eagle bias)

FFA (Free For All) (No Longer Playable)

FFA was one of the most chaotic game modes and could be played on any map except Temple Push. The recommended player count for FFA was any number above or equal to 3 (although it’s more fun with more people).

Rules:
1. Anything goes (except helis if it gets too op)

NOTE: This game mode is no longer playable due to a game mechanic which automatically kills those who kill their teammates.

Defend

Defend is one of the most fun game modes, after which Temple Push is modeled after. However, at the time of this writing, there are issues with that map. The recommended player count for Defend is any number above or equal to 5 (although it’s more fun with more people).

Rules:
1. The sole goal for the Eagles is to defend their original spawn/chosen spawn for 15 minutes
2. The sole goal for the Ravens is to capture the Eagles’ original spawn/chosen spawn
3. Eagles can NOT use any vehicles what so ever
4. Eagles can NOT attempt to capture any points
5. Ravens can capture any point they want
6. Ravens can use all vehicles except helicopters (using helis solely for transport can also be allowed)
7. The teams will be balanced in a 2:3 ratio (Eagles to Ravens) (this ratio was determined arbitrarily and can be adjusted to meet balance needs)

Race (Untested)

Race is an untested game mode for RFMP and can only be played on Island or Island Night. The required player count for Race is 2 (any more players and they will have to sit out).

Rules:
1. Each player must start in the same vehicle (quad or jeep)
2. Each player must start on the starting line (with the front or back edge of the vehicle in a line)
3. The person to first complete the designated number of laps around the designated circuit wins
4. Permittance of shortcuts is up to the match organizer
