[Still works in “The Following”] How to farm King weapon mod

Overview

This simple guide will show you how to farm and always get King weapon mod!

Intro

Hi. In this guide I want to show you nice, simple and 100% working trick to get King weapon mod, which is the best in game. It’s my first guide and I hope you’ll like it ^^

How to start?

First of all you must know that this trick requires restarting story quests to ~50% story progress, using option in menu.

Click “Play Campaign” and then choose your save.

Then select “Advanced” using “F” or whatever key you have there.

Now you have to set “Restart from quest” on mission “Find the Embers” and accept.

You will spawn near the sewers and you have to do some main quests to reach your beloved King mod. In case you have no idea how to do this, I’ll cover almost every step.

A little about story quests

As I said you’ll spawn near the sewers. Then you must go to Troy and blah blah.

After you’re done talking, take this zipline and go to university. (I hope you are a big boy and can figure out how to get there by yourself)

And again some blah blah with guy named Fidan.

After that get back to Troy but you don’t have to talk to her. Instead you can get quest from this guy AND DO THIS, BECAUSE IT’S QUEST YOU’RE LOOKING FOR!

It’s called “Fan zone”. You better track this one.

King quest

After you take your King-giving quest, again use handy zipline and get to fan zone.


Sometimes there is that little bug with elevator button, but don’t worry. It’s only visual bug.

You HAVE to use door on the right, because you won’t be able to progress. (That’s stupid :/)


Take Key Card and go through door to the right of the key.

After turning off computer, head to elevator and wait till they’re done talking.


Head through ventilation and get to that guy.

Pro tip: Throwing molotov at him, causes him to stop firing at you and start screaming and running so you can easily get to him and slice in two.

Like that.

And there you go! Your own King mod. To fully utilize this metod, quit immediately after you loot it, then you can just “Continue” and you’ll spawn in elevator and bandit will still be there to kill, so you can kill him again and loot and etc. Credits goes to Decker who mentioned it in the comments.

Shorter version

If you want simpler version, here it is.

1. Restart game at quest “Find the Embers”
2. Go to Troy
3. Go to University
4. Get back to Troy (you don’t have to talk to her)
5. Take quest from guy bellow Troy’s window
6. Do this quest
7. Loot King mod from bandit you had to kill
8. Immediately quit after you loot mod
9. Continue the game and do step 7 and 8 again
10*. Don’t forget to throw molotov so you can kill him with melee weapon to save ammo
