Rivals of Aether Guide

Sans: The Punmaster (WIP) for Rivals of Aether

Sans: The Punmaster (WIP)

Overview

Sans, the easiest enemy, is now in ROA!In order to master him, you should know his moves. And this guide is your best friend in that subject.

Introduction

Hello, my name is Spike_Bop.
I have played with Sans since the Workshop Beta Patch came out.
Due to the lack of guides for Custom characters, i wanted to put my two cents on the subject.
This guide will cover all of Sans’s moveset, combos, skills and tricks.
Here we go.
This guide is still a WIP! Don’t think i have finished it yet!
PUN ALERT: If you hate or dislike puns, this guide is NOT going to be helpful nor funny for you. (sorry.)

heya.
i’m sans.
nice to meet ya.

you are’nt very talkative, right?
…..
well.

Moveset (B-Moves)

Sans, as any character, has 4 Special Moves. (Also known as B-Moves.)

Neutral B: Flaber-GASTER-ed
This move places a Gaster Blaster in front of you, which fires a bit later after placement.
This move is useful to lock enemies in place, allowing to start combos.
Take in count that this move has a short cooldown and it disables your S-Moves (Smashes/Strongs) while it’s active.

Side B: Telekinesis
As the name says, this move “grabs” the enemy.
Tilting your L-Stick selects a direction (Up, Down, Foward, Back) and throws the enemy that way.
The more damage the enemy has, the stronger this move is.
As long as you hold your enemy, you are invulnerable to attacks and to gravity; to prevent spammers, this trick has a limit time of 3 seconds.
EXTRA: By chaining this move mid-air, you can stay avobe ground!

Up B: Blink Dodge
This is your recovery move.
Sans will start blinking and disappear, reappearing in a chosen point.
To choose in which direction you want to jump, just tilt your L-Stick.
This move also damages enemies that stand on the appearing spot, but this move is not reliable for damage.

Down B: Bone Swap
Maybe the most useless move ever.
This move just throws 2 bones foward and back of sans.
It also works as a toggle, changing the color of your bones from White (No knockback, deals damage every frame) to Blue (Deals knockback, can be broken by enemy attacks), and viceversa.

(Note: IRONIC. I managed to get a screenshot of Up-B but now i lost the one of Down-B.)

Moveset (N-Moves)

Now i’ll cover the Jab and the other “normal” moves.

Jab: Electric Hands
Sans will try to shake the enemy’s hand and shock them.
This move can be cancelled to other N-Moves and B-Moves.

Side Tilt: Throw
Throw a bone of the selected color.
If your HUD has a Blue bone, you’ll throw a blue bone. (Duh.)
The White bones follow the same rules; the only difference is that White bones are faster than Blue bones.

Up Tilt: Upwards Throw
Same as before, only that it throws the bones up.

Down Tilt: The Legendary Banana
One of my personal favorites.
Sans will drop a banana peel to the ground; this will cause enemies to slip and take some damage, while interrupting their current action.
Enemies can destroy the peel by attacking it.

Dash: Karma Shield
Sans will slip through enemies and damage them with this move.
The only thing is that is very slippery, so is not advised to use it near borders.

Moveset (A-Moves)

These are so cool, that i made a new section for them. UwU

Neutral Air: Fart
Sans will activate his hand whoopsie cushion and create a shockwave around himself.
This move, as far as i can tell, is very useful.

Foward Air: Bash
Another of my personal favorites.
Sans will strike the enemy with his arm, dealing nice damage and knockback.
This move is very awesome as a finisher, due to being one of the only moves that can throw enemies downwards.

Back Air: Down Throw
Same as Throw, with the difference of throwing the bone down.
Follows the same rules as Throw and Upwards Throw.
If the bone collides with a wall, it will bounce. (This also applies to the others)

Up Air: Trom-BONE
Yes, i made a pun there.
Anyway, this move is quite useful once you learn to use it, because it damages the enemies more than most of the moveset.

Down Air: DROP dead
Yes.
Sans will kick the enemy down, making this move almost as useful as Foward Air.

Misc. (S-Moves + Taunt)

Why i made a section for this. *sigh*

Side Strong: Lateral Thinking
Best move for me.
Throws enemies in the direction you attack.
(The Blue and the White bones in this move are just cosmetic,
they don’t follow the rules of the “Throw” moves)

Up Strong: One Bone
This move can hit enemies from under platforms, and also hit them while they jump.
Very useful as a interrupting move.

Down Strong: DOWN you go!
Yep.
This move covers BOTH directions and deals nice damage.
Good move for damage.

Taunt
kid, wanna some ketchup?
