Overview
A Chronological look at Doom with tidbits sprinkled in from other classic ID games
A few millennia before DOOM
The planet of Argent D’Nur had a massive cosmic spike driven through it, unleashing the Elemental Wraiths. The Argenta people had to deal with strong monsters and beasts roaming across their planet, and with the help of the Elemental Wraiths, push them back and establish cities and technological development.
Then the Maykrs came, flaunting their superiority and offering eternal peace in Urdak if the Argenta pledge loyalty to them, and spread this doctrine throughout the universe.
The Argenta land on Mars and Earth, building cities on them.
Due to government feudalism, they packed up and left to go back to Argent D’Nur.
Before DOOM
World War II, U.S. Soldier William “B.J.” Blazkowicz is sent on an important mission to kill Hitler.
He succeeds and lives the american dream of having grandchildren.

21st Century, Marine soldier Stan (Doomguy) Blazkowicz brutally attacks his commanding officer for ordering him to fire on civilians, and is sent to mars to suck dust and clean toilets.
DOOM
Doomguy is stationed on the UAC mars base.
For the last 4 years the Military, UAC’s biggest supplier, has been using the remote locations of the bases to conduct experiments.
While doing Teleportation experiments, Phobos base sends out a distress call. “We require immediate military support! Something fraggin’ evil is coming out of the Gateways! Computer systems have gone berserk!” Soon after Deimos base disappears.
Doomguy, along with a bunch of green redshirts are shipped off to Phobos to contain the situation.
Everyone but Doomguy dies, and it’s up to Doomguy to finish the job.
Doomguy makes his way across the various installations on Phobos, clearing out as many demons as he can, until he reaches the Phobos Anomaly, where he faces off against the Bruiser Brothers, two immensely strong Barons of Hell that he defeats easily. Making his way into the corrupted teleporter he finds himself in the Deimos base.
In the Deimos base Doomguy walks through increasingly corrupted facilities until he finds a tower. In the tower he faces off with the huge Cyberdemon, Doomguy rips and tears its huge guts. Doomguy looks off the edge of the Deimos base, and discovers that it is floating above Hell itself! He rappels down to the surface to investigate further.
In Hell, Doomguy tries his best to get out, until he conveniently finds a portal, but it is guarded by the Spider Mastermind, that he absolutely destroys so he can leave, with the side effect of stopping the invasion! Right?
Walking out of the portal he finds earth under attack by demons, and discovers they took it too far.
They killed his bunny. Doomguy is sent into a rage, decimating the first wave of the attacking demonic army and kicking the ass of another spider mastermind. He leaves the city and searches for more demons to slaughter.
DOOM II: Hell on Earth
While massacring a large group of demons on Earth, the remaining human survivors contact him, saying they want to leave Earth, but the only functional starport has been taken over by the demons.
Doomguy obliges and slaughters as many demons as he can in between him and the control switch,
Doomguy flips the switch, allowing humanity freedom from extinction!
With no objective and content with his death, Doomguy slaughters demons left and right until he is contacted yet again, and is told the source of the demonic invasion on Earth is coming right from his hometown. Doomguy makes his way through the city, destroying as many demons as possible.
Doomguy finds himself at the demonic citadel that was constructed to keep him out, nearly falling for a trap that a Cyberdemon and a spider mastermind set up to kill him, he jumps into the portal.
Once again in hell, Doomguy rips and tears his way through the demonic hordes making his way through the various caves and structures that dot the landscape, and comes across the ugliest and baddest demon to ever live at all, a very weakened Icon of Sin! Doomguy pumps three rockets into its exposed brain, stopping the invasion! Doomguy makes his way to a portal to return home.
Doom 64
Hell was not a place for anyone to witness, let alone visit twice. Doomguy learned this the hard way,
he had nightmares, premonitions. It was not over, the military doctors, and the treatments and tests.
The entire incident was sealed away and classified. Phobos and Mars, bombarded with radiation to dissuade anything from existing there, a relay satellite sent one last transmission, images of horrific power, out of control mutations and rampant necromancy.
The classifications were reopened, the episode codenamed “DOOM” was never completed.
A single entity with vast regeneration powers shrouded in extreme radiation, escaped detection, and despite its weakened state, was able to reanimate dead and decayed tissue into devastating mutations, even stronger than before.
Doomguy is sent to Phobos again, no nightmare would prepare him for what he had to go through.
His only objective: MERCILESS EXTERMINATION.
Doomguy kills every demon he gets his hands on, ripping and tearing his way across the bases he discovers a strange, demonic laser cannon, The Unmaker. And nearby was a strange rune, a Demon key.
Doomguy makes his way into Hell yet again, and murders everything that moves, discovering two more demon keys and, finding the source of the mutations, he unmakes the ugly mother demon.
The mother demon’s sister, the regenerator, did not like this and Doomguy was thrown out of hell.
Doomguy blasted his way back into hell and destroyed the regenerator, vowing to stay in hell and prevent any demon from ever invading Earth ever again.
After DOOM 64
Unkown, After Doomguy ripped and tore through many demons, they had enough and threw him out of Hell, landing him on Argent D’Nur, where he was taken in by the Deagic order and forced to fight in the arena of Sentinel Prime. Here, the sentinels learn of the demons, and how Doomguy is babbling incoherently about ripping and tearing.
Doomguy is able to make it into the night sentinels, and just before he is shipped out to space, the demons invade Argent D’Nur. While the Argenta are barely able to hold the demons back, Doomguy is absolutely destroying the demons on the battlefield, making him revered by the sentinels.
Until Taras Nabad is attacked by a Titan, causing Doomguy and the sentinels to battle it for what seems like forever, until Samur Maykr whisks Doomguy away to give him a gift.
Samur Maykr then steals away The Father and goes into hiding, prompting the Maykrs to look into an alternative source of life extension.
And Doomguy kills the titan, and pushes the demons back into hell. Doomguy and the sentinels march across Hell, killing everything that gets in their way. Meanwhile behind the front lines, enslaved Argenta are put to work at building Nekravol, an evil factory that tortures souls for their energy,
making more demons, and giving the Maykrs their fix of forever juice.
The sentinels war against the demons led them back to mars, where they were forced to sacrifice all the sentinels stationed on mars to defeat the demons there, and Doomguy pushed back the invasion on mars.
A few night sentinels discover Nekravol, and inform Doomguy, who incites a rebellion to take down the Maykrs and stop the demons even more than before. However the war was cut short when the Deagic order gave a night sentinel a Faustian deal, resurrect their dead son, for the elemental wraith’s location.
The night sentinels were betrayed, and The Well was ripped from Argent D’Nur and taken into Hell as a trophy. The wraiths were tortured for infinite Argent energy. All the rebellious night sentinels were killed and Doomguy was left to kill as many demons as he could in hell, where a wretch gifted him armor that could absorb the Argent energy produced by dead demons to heal him.
Doomguy was imprisoned by the Deagic order because he was a threat to their plans. And the Maykrs, and the Argenta, sat back and watched people fight in an arena.
DOOM 3 and ROE
22nd century, 100 years after the disappearance of Doomguy and the forgetting of hell’s existence, the UAC was re-established and took over mars, where they constructed a base, and discovered remnants of the martian Argenta. With blueprints of teleportation technology, and the excavation of the Soul Cube.
A Marine arrived on mars and was told to find a scientist that ran away. Marine, finding the scientist was interrupted by a hell invasion. Making his way across the martian base, Marine is sent to group up with Bravo Team. However Bravo Team is moving too fast for Marine to catch up.
At the EnPro facility Bravo Team is ambushed and causes a catastrophic failure, and Marine has to clean up the mess. After making his way to the communications facility, Marine makes a choice and leaves.
Marine makes his way to Delta Labs where he enters Hell and obtains the Soul Cube. Marine finds his way back to mars and makes his way to the excavation site, where he seals up the portal to Hell and renders the soul cube inert.
Two years later, Technician and his squad are exploring the excavation site, looking for artifacts, and Technician find the Artifact, and takes it, causing the demons to return to mars.
Technician makes his way across the mars base and defeats the Hell Hunters, and goes to hell to fight the former head of the mars base, Dr Malcolm Betruger, now known as the Maledict.
He kills it with the artifact.
DOOM (2016)
22nd Century, The existence of hell was classified by the UAC after the invasion in DOOM 3.
They found the argent fracture, where argent energy leaked from hell into mars, and they built the argent tower to exploit it and send argent energy to earth. Sending exploration teams into hell to discover more, Samuel Hayden finds Doomguy’s sarcophagus.
A cult was formed in the UAC by Olivia Pierce. The Deagic order, realising that doomguy has returned out of hell, despite his imprisonment, consider him a threat and make plans to invade earth if he succeeds in freeing the wraiths.
Then Olivia unleashed a Lazarus wave, demonizing ~60% of the mars base and releasing the captured demons. Samuel, fearing the worst, releases Doomguy from his prison.
Doomguy wakes up in an unfamiliar environment, and dons his trusty Praetor suit.
When he tries to find out what happened to the mars base, he is stopped by Samuel, who claims to be working in the best interest of mankind.
Doomguy makes his way across mars, and prevents a metal refinery from overloading, and destroys the purification filters of argent energy. And he climbs the Argent tower to stop Olivia from tearing open a portal to hell, but is unable to stop her.
Landing in hell, Doomguy is greeted by a “he is here” and he rips and tears his way back to mars, where he is instructed to go to the Lazarus labs to return to hell and obtain a crucible. In the Advanced research complex, Doomguy is greeted by a Big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Gun, and makes his way into the lazarus labs, where he battles with a Cyberdemon.
Ending up in hell again, doomguy rips and tears his way into the necropolis, where he battles the hell guards, to get a crucible. Doomguy is warped back to mars and is told to sacrifice VEGA so he can close the well.
In the well, doomguy makes his way across the treacherous terrain and frees the elemental wraiths from their torment. And encountering Olivia, who is possessed and absorbed by the spider mastermind, Doomguy does battle and makes the Spider Mastermind eat BFG.
Doomguy is brought back to mars, where Samuel sends him off to parts unknown.
DOOM Eternal
22nd Century, The Maykrs, unable to rely on tortured wraith essence for their forever juice, invade Earth.
The ARC is formed and tasked with keeping humanity alive, but because the demons are innumerable, they are unable to mount an effective resistance.
A few months later, Doomguy warps into the hell barge of Deag Nilox, and decapitates him.
Slowing the demonic invasion by 1/3, he interrupts a ritual that would have sped up the demonic consumption of Earth, and visits Argent D’Nur for a piece of a celestial locator to find the remaining two hell priests.
Ripping and tearing his way across a cultist facility and taking the train to Doom Hunter base, Doomguy decapitates Deag Ranak. However The Khan Maykr does not like him trying to save humanity, and hides Deag Grav away.
Doomguy, not knowing where he could be, forcibly enlists the help of Samuel Hayden.
Who immediately tells him where Grav is, and how to get there. Doomguy needs to get to the center of mars, but how?
He can’t just shoot a hole into the surface of Mars. Right?
Doomguy shoots a hole into the surface of Mars, and jumps into a portal to Sentinel Prime.
There he violates sacred sentinel rites and kills Deag Grav, stopping the hell invasion of Earth.
But the Khan Maykr has other plans, she intends to release an Icon of Sin on Earth.
Doomguy has to obtain his crucible, and warps to Taras Nabad to retrieve it, and repair it.
Doomguy breaks into Urdak and kills the Khan Maykr and releases her control of the Icon of Sin.
Then Doomguy warps to earth, and rips and tears through countless demon hordes to reach the Icon of Sin.
Doomguy engages in an epic battle against the Icon of Sin and kills it by shoving the crucible into its exposed brain and breaking off the handle.
That’s it so far.
