Overview
This is a guide on how to defeat the new raid boss “Voracidous the Invincible” from the DLC “Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game hunt” using a Siren.
Borderlands 2 Voracidous the Invincible Solo Siren Guide
Hello, I thought I would put this Steam Community guide up in the hope that it will help the solo Siren players out there defeat this new raid boss.
The boss is “Voracidous the Invincible” and he is available as a mission from Sir Hammerlock at the Hunter’s Lodge upon completing the main story missions in his DLC ( Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game hunt )
Before attempting this fight you will need a very specific set of equipment to make it all work, Here is a list of what you will require.
A fire elemental norfleet Launcher ( Rare drop from Vermivorous / Hyperious )
Trespasser sniper rifle ( Quest reward from Mordecai in Sanctuary / Mission : “Animal Rights” )
A fire elemental Sand Hawk ( Quest reward from Captain Scarlett’s DLC / Mission : “Whoops” )
A Bee shield ( Rare drop from Hunter Hellquist in the Arid Nexus Boneyard )
A Banshee class mod ( randomy sourced from multiple locations in game / +6 immolate is required )
A fire relic ( randomly sourced from multiple locations in game / +30% prefered )
Here is an image of the skill tree set up that I use to complete this fight.
The most important thing here it to use max points in the “Immolate” skill.
When you enter the arena to fight Voracidous, You will notice that he is alone just waiting to eat your face off!
Begin the fight with the Bee shield + fire Sand Hawk and do as much damage as you possibly can – After a few seconds “Chief Ngwatu” will spawn.
The key to beating Voracidous is to kill off the chief as fast as you can!, The chief has an extremely high capacity shield but very low health, if you allow the chief to live for too long Voracidous will steal the shield from the chief, Making the fight basically impossible, Here’s where the Trespasser comes into play.
The Trespasser’s special ability is that it will totally ignore an enemy’s shield and directly damage their health, So you need to shoot the Chief in his face ( critical hits for maximum damage ) This will kill the chief off fairly quickly leaving Voracidous unshielded and free for you to attack.
The next phase of this strategy is to let yourself be put into fight for your life, This may sound strange, but it is the key to doing INSANE damage with Maya using this build.
Having so many points in “Immolate” means that when you are downed you get a massive fire damage bonus added to all of your shots – It’s time to whip out that fire Norfleet.
At this stage in the fight small maniac midget savages will be spawning, All you have to do is shoot your Norfleet directly at Voracidous when you are downed – The splash damage will be more than enough to kill the smaller enemies on the field meaning that you will have a chance to revive and reload.
Repeat this process until Voracidous dies ( You may need a few attempts )
This is still a very difficult fight, But this method indeed works and feels very satisfying to defeat such a tough raid boss using legitimate techniques.
Below is a video demonstrating what happens when it all comes together.
I hope this helps you out.
