Overview
This guide is basically about the main five animatronics, Easter eggs and strategies.Enjoy!
Entrances and Controls
In the first game of Five Nights at Freddy’s you are given an office with 3 entrances- right doorway, left doorway and office.
Left doorway: Bonnie, Foxy
Right doorway: Freddy, Chica
Office: Golden Freddy
To defend yourself, you are given 2 doors with lights and a camera. However, the creators decided to invite a nightguard first instead of a technician to fix the power reduce. The green buttons control the doors and the lights check the hallway. Closing a doors drains 2 blocks of power, the lights 1 block and the same goes for the cameras.
Cameras
Cameras are the main part of Five Nights At Freddy’s 1 and are generally used to track certain characters and ( on rare occasions) to get rid of Golden Freddy. They can be accessed by the white, bold arrow on the bottom of the screen. There are overall 9 visable cameras.
This is where Golden Freddy appears ( in form of a poster) and where Bonnie stands outside of the door.
This is where Bonnie stands and where foxy runs down to attack you.
This is where Freddy and Chica will appear outside the door.
This is where Chica stands.
This is where Bonnie goes.
This is the only camera that is disabled and you can only hear Chica banging pots or Freddy’s Toreador Song.
Chica can be seen in the restrooms and so can Freddy.
This is the pirate cove. Viewing it frequently will stall Foxy’s movements.
This is where Bonnie will appear ( sometimes showing as an easter egg).
This is the dining room. All animatronics except Foxy appear here after leaving the stage.
This is the stage area. This is Chica, Bonnie and Freddy first step.
phone guy
Phone guy is an antagonist in all fnaf games as he aids the player, telling them about the place, and how to stay alive.
Night 1:
Phone Guy – “Hello, hello? Uh, I wanted to record a message for you to help you get settled in on your first night. Um, I actually worked in that office before you. I’m finishing up my last week now, as a matter of fact. So, I know it can be a bit overwhelming, but I’m here to tell you there’s nothing to worry about. Uh, you’ll do fine. So, let’s just focus on getting you through your first week. Okay?
Uh, let’s see, first there’s an introductory greeting from the company that I’m supposed to read. Uh, it’s kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, “Welcome to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. A magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing person report will be filed within 90 days, or as soon property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced.”
Blah blah blah, now that might sound bad, I know, but there’s really nothing to worry about. Uh, the animatronic characters here do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No. If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for twenty years and I never got a bath? I’d probably be a bit irritable at night too. So, remember, these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children and we need to show them a little respect, right? Okay.
So, just be aware, the characters do tend to wander a bit. Uh, they’re left in some kind of free roaming mode at night. Uh…Something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long. Uh, they used to be allowed to walk around during the day too. But then there was The Bite of ’87. Yeah. I-It’s amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know?
Uh, now concerning your safety, the only real risk to you as a night watchman here, if any, is the fact that these characters, uh, if they happen to see you after hours probably won’t recognize you as a person. They’ll p-most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now since that’s against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, they’ll probably try to…forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit. Um, now, that wouldn’t be so bad if the suits themselves weren’t filled with crossbeams, wires, and animatronic devices, especially around the facial area. So, you could imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort…and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask, heh.
Y-Yeah, they don’t tell you these things when you sign up. But hey, first day should be a breeze. I’ll chat with you tomorrow. Uh, check those cameras, and remember to close the doors only if absolutely necessary. Gotta conserve power. Alright, good night.”
Night 2:
Phone Guy – “Uhh, Hello? Hello? Uh, well, if you’re hearing this and you made it to day two, uh, congrats! I-I won’t talk quite as long this time since Freddy and his friends tend to become more active as the week progresses. Uhh, it might be a good idea to peek at those cameras while I talk just to make sure everyone’s in their proper place. You know…
Uh… Interestingly enough, Freddy himself doesn’t come off stage very often. I heard he becomes a lot more active in the dark though, so, hey, I guess that’s one more reason not to run out of power, right? I-I also want to emphasize the importance of using your door lights. There are blind spots in your camera views, and those blind spots happen to be right outside of your doors. So if-if you can’t find something, or someone, on your cameras, be sure to check the door lights. Uh, you might only have a few seconds to react… Uh, not that you would be in any danger, of course. I’m not implying that. Also, check on the curtain in Pirate Cove from time to time. The character in there seems unique in that he becomes more active if the cameras remain off for long periods of time. I guess he doesn’t like being watched. I don’t know. Anyway, I’m sure you have everything under control! Uh, talk to you soon.”
Night 3:
Phone Guy – “Hello, hello? Hey you’re doing great! Most people don’t last this long. I mean, you know, they usually move on to other things by now. I’m not implying that they died. Th-th-that’s not what I meant. Uh, anyway I better not take up too much of your time. Things start getting real tonight.
Uh… Hey, listen, I had an idea: if you happen to get caught and want to avoid getting stuffed into a Freddy suit, uhh, try playing dead! You know, go limp. Then there’s a chance that, uh, maybe they’ll think that you’re an empty costume instead. Then again if they think you’re an empty costume, they might try to… stuff a metal skeleton into you. I wonder how that would work. Yeah, never mind, scratch that. It’s best just not to get caught.
Um… Ok, I’ll leave you to it. See you on the flip side!”
Night 4:
Phone Guy – Hello, hello? Hey! Hey, wow, day 4. I knew you could do it.
Uh, hey, listen, I may not be around to send you a message tomorrow. *banging* It’s-It’s been a bad night here for me. Um, I-I’m kinda glad that I recorded my messages for you *clears throat* uh, when I did.
Uh, hey, do me a favor. *banging* Maybe sometime, uh, you could check inside those suits in the back room? *banging* I’m gonna to try to hold out until someone checks. Maybe it won’t be so bad. *bang bang* Uh, I-I-I-I always wondered what was in all those empty heads back there. *chime plays*.
You know…*deep moan* oh, no – *noises followed by a loud screech and static*
Night 5:
The phone call from Night Five is not actually spoken by Phone Guy. It’s more likely one of the animatronics in a deep, garbled, demonic-sounding voice. When the audio clip is played backwards and some post-processing applied, it is rendered into a difficult to understand, and hard to translate, garble. I’ll let you enjoy the call 🙂
Freddy Fazbear
Type: Original
Games: fnaf 1, fnaf 2 (withered), fnaf 3 (minigame), fnaf 4 (nightmare), fnaf world, fnaf 6 (cutscene), UCN, fnaf help wanted, fnaf special delivery, Freddy in space 2.
Gender: Male
Freddy Fazbear is the main mascot and band singer of Freddy Fazbear pizzeria which first opened in 1992. He is also the main antagonist out of the first game and will try and kill you, thinking you are a bare endoskeleton. He first appears on night 3, after Chica the Chicken and Bonnie the Bunny has left. The images shows his route:
on stage ( easter egg)
hard to see his ghostly white eyes, but in the shadows of the party room.
Once again, the white eyes shows his arrival in the bathroom.
SHUT THE DOOR
Freddy Fazbear is the hardest out of the 4 ( including the easter egg Golden Freddy) as whenever you turn to the left ( possibly to check on Bonnie) or lift up the monitor, he will attack. To prevent this, shut the right door ( green button) whenever you go to the left or lift up the cameras- it may drain your power a lot quicker but just to be safe ( you can also view cam 4B to stall his movements).
He also appears if you run out of power: The room darkens as the only light is his white, glowing eyes in the left hall. He plays the famous tune, the Toreador Song highlighting his arrival ( also played in the kitchen). Stated by the phone guy, if the player looks at Freddy and stays absolutely still you could make it to 6am, resulting in the night shift completed. If not near 6am, then wave yourself goodbye to a scary jumpscare.
power running out:
Jumpscaring from the right:
Chica the Chicken
Chica the Chicken is the backup singer and one of the several antagonists pursuing the player in any way possible- mostly stuffing them in a suit ( nice). She is very active on night 1 onwards ( along with Bonnie the Bunny) and is the second ( sometimes 1st or 3rd) to leave the stage. Here is her specific route:
on stage along with Freddy Fazbear and Bonnie the Bunny:
In dining area:
In restrooms:
Chica is coming down the hall, check on her frequently:
SHUT THE DOOR
On the later nights, you can hear Chica making moaning noises, this is usually referred to the soul trapped inside the suit- if viewing cam 4B, she will sometimes twitch. Like the rest of the killers, Chica needs the door shut in her face to avoid her attack. Press the green button the shut the door, this may take a while for her to leave the door so to avoid draining massive wages of power, click the light ( white button). She will sometimes ( if entered your office whilst on the cameras) make whimpering sounds whilst waiting for you to put down the monitor. Sometimes, Chica will forcefully put the camera down to jumpscare you.
looking in office:
Jumpscare:
Bonnie the Bunny
Bonnie the bunny is the guitarist in the band and is also one of the 5 killers in Five Nights At Freddy’s 1, he looks nearly identical to Freddy Fazbear excepting the ears, head and body tone. Like Chica, he starts to stalk the player on night 1 as he becomes more active and aggressive as the night progress ( he is usually the first off the stage). Here is Bonnie’s route:
On stage with Freddy ( Easter egg):
In party room:
Backstage ( easter egg)
In hallway ( beware)!
SHUT THE DOOR
Like Chica, he twitches aggressively and makes moaning sounds ( also audible when in office whilst monitor is up). When you see Bonnie in the hallway, immediately shut the door because he could mess up the functions meaning that you can’t slam the door in his face, resulting in a harsh jumpscare ( Chica can also do this and so can Freddy).
Use the light to make him go away whilst the door is shut:
Jumpscare:
Foxy the Pirate
Foxy is my favourite antagonist in the first game. He is a pirate fox with a hook, eye patch across his right eye, ripped shorts and a broken jaw with sharp teeth ( linked to the bite of 87′ and also the only animatronic in FNaF 1 to have teeth on the upper jaw). Out of all animatronics ( excepting Golden Freddy) Foxy is the most broken down with a broken jaw ( seen when running down the hall), revealed endo at the bottom of the legs, tears all over the body which show his endo. Like the others, you require a door ( and maybe a gun) to keep him from entering your smol office. However, you have to view his specific camera ( cam 1C) to show what stage he is at:
Nothing to worry about:
Still nothing:
He’s on his way out now, check him 5-10 seconds:
[[previewicon=20461595;sizeThumb,inline;stage 3.png][/previewicon]
He’s now gone to scare you. But fear not! immediately come out of the cameras and shut both doors, you’ll hear a few rapid knocks and then he’ll return to his usual steps.
If quick enough, if you view cam 2A, you will see Foxy bolt down the hallway ( you will also be able to see his jaw):
Jumpscare:
Stragety- night 1
Characters:
Chica
Bonnie
difficultly-normal
For the first night the threat is very small. Only Bonnie will be a decent threat, Chica generally won’t get to the office in time, and Golden Freddy can still appear (but this is very rare and can only happen by looking at the west hall camera when a poster of his face is on the wall). At this night, Foxy also can come out of his cove and attempt to attack you, but it is very rare- Try to check on the Pirate Cove 1-2 times an hour, though. Freddy will rarely go off the stage on this night and the second night either, so Freddy is not a big threat also this is a very easy night I would not really do anything ( tip ) for all nights stay on 5 am then go shut your doors it worked on 5 night it took a really long time.
Stragety- night 2
Characters:
Chica
Bonnie
Foxy
Difficultly- normal
Wait in the beginning of the game! The characters do not pursue you for some time. Rather than check the camera feed immediately, it is best to just relax for a moment. This will conserve power for later on when it is actually necessary. It is good to wait until the ‘end call’ option pops up at the top left of the screen. Then, access the camera feed and watch out for those characters! However, be careful. Depending on how long you wait and what night you are on, Foxy may be able run to you and kill you before you drop down to 90% power.
Stay calm! The more afraid you are, the worse you will do. If you are constantly scared, you will not think as rationally and may use more power than necessary. If you want to make the game less scary, it is best to play with the lights in your room on and the volume set to low and also imagine that they are going to give you cookies instead of kill you.
Just to remember:
Bonnie is fast and aggressive, but easy to detect and stop. Bonnie only comes to you from your left side. Chica is slower than Bonnie and less aggressive. Chica is easy to detect and stop and only comes to you from your right side. Foxy is extremely fast and extremely aggressive when he leaves his post (the Pirate’s Cove). He only comes to you from your left side. The less you look at the camera, the faster Foxy leaves his post. When you see that he is gone, immediately close your left door.
Stragety- night 3
Characters:
Chica
Bonnie
Foxy
Freddy
difficultly-hard
Night 3 is going to be more difficult because Freddy will now become completely active (though he’s still a bit slow compared to Nights 4-6). I’ve been fortunate to have him come to Cam 4B only once on Night 3, but other people haven’t been as lucky as me. In other words, Freddy can very much kill you on this night, so you’ll have to keep an eye on him.
Additionally, the other animatronics will show up at your door more often. Fortunately, they can still be countered with the same procedure for the other two nights. You’ll just have to be faster here.
Stragety- night 4
Characters:
Chica
Bonnie
Foxy
Freddy
Difficultly- hard
Night 4 is just a somewhat harder version of Night 3. It’s still very much beatable, however. Continue to use the same strategy for everyone, but be faster this time.
Freddy is even more active than before and will most likely reach Cam 4B before the night ends. Once he arrives at Cam 4B, remember to close the right door every time you want to check a different camera.
Stragety- night 5
Characters:
Chica
Bonnie
Foxy
Freddy
Difficultly- hard
Night 5 is going to be fairly tough, but it’s not unbeatable. The same tactics for Nights 3 and 4 still apply here, but you’ll have to be even faster and more vigilant.
This may be the first night where you may actually lose power despite playing carefully. This night may even take you a few tries. If you happen to fail a few times, don’t give up.
At the end of the game, you receive a paycheck- shown below:
Good job sport!
Fnaf 1 hints and tips
The doors are the largest waste of power in the entire game. Sure you could keep them closed at all times to ward off enemies but that’d defeat the purpose of the game. Not to mention, doing so will barely get you through an hour before you completely run out of power.
Instead, keep the doors open at all times until you actually hear a character approaching or see one in the doorway. Then slam them shut and leave them shut until they disappear.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is immensely reliant on auditory cues. If you run around checking cameras and flipping on lights when you don’t need to, you’ll never have enough power to get through the night. Instead, when you think you hear something approaching, quickly tap the lights on and off to check the doorways.
On the right side door, you can sometimes see something approaching in the shadows before it gets to the doorway. This means you can bypass using the lights altogether and just shut the door.
Enemies move differently at Freddy’s. Learning early on how they move will get you further, faster. Here’s how I’ve found all four enemies to move throughout the night, with the exception of night five, where it appears all bets are off.
Chica – Purposefully and quickly towards the player, always appears in the right side door. If you see Chica on a right side camera approaching you, they’ll soon be in the doorway so prepare to close it!
Bonnie – Always appears in the left hand doorway but moves randomly in the cameras. Flick the left side light on and off is you feel Bonnie is moving, just to make sure they aren’t in the doorway already.
Foxy – Mainly stays in Pirate Cove in Camera 1C but doesn’t like to be watched often. When you hear running on the left side, Foxy is attacking. Slam down the left door. You may also sporadically see signs in camera 1C that say “IT’S ME!” and if you see this, immediately slam the left door down.
Freddy – Freddy is harder to predict and frequently makes cameras do dark. This is a good indication Freddy is lurking. Watching him seems to make him advance slower, so keep an eye on him and remember he typically moves throughout the whole camera circuit before attacking. But remember, he can break through doors, so slowing him down in the final hours of the night are key.
As previously stated, Freddy is hard to see on the cameras. One indicator that he’s in a specific room is if you see glowing eyes. There have been times I thought I was looking at a completely empty camera but caught a pair of glowing eyes, which happened to be Freddy.
Just be sure to keep an eye on Freddy as he moves through cameras as it’ll slow down his advance.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is chock full of auditory information. Being able to hear footsteps specifically approaching from the left or right separately is super important. And when you hear running or other sounds, you’ll quickly become acquainted with who is attacking at from where.
Through your iPhone or iPad’s built-in speakers, it’s sometimes impossible to decipher where a character is moving to, in turn making cameras harder to monitor. And as you can probably guess, that means you use more power. So in short, use headphones whenever possible.
Again, auditory cues are key. It’s also why headphones make a huge difference. You can hear the feedback coming from both left and right channels separately which tells you exactly what side you are facing an attack from. This makes it much easier to conserve power when you aren’t guessing what door to slam down.
With the exception of when you’re tracking Freddy, short and quick looks are almost always best. You want to curb your power usage as much as possible for in most situations, you’ll be able to see where characters are at with short looks. Spend most of your time listening and only part of your time looking. I’d say an 80/20 rule would make a good guideline.
At the very beginning of the night, all the animals are located in camera 1A. Quickly take glances at them here and there in order to see when an animal makes their first move. In other words, when one disappears. That’s the point when you need to start checking the other cameras. Just be sure to also keep an eye on Foxy in Pirate’s Cover periodically. And more importantly, make sure you’re listening for attacks more than you are watching.
Easter eggs
In this section, I’ll show you all Easter eggs lurking in the shadows of fnaf 1 and how to access them.
Golden freddy
Goldie is a secret 5th animatronic which appears in the freddy poster in the West corridor:
If you check this corridor frequently, the picture will change into a disturbing image of freddy breaking his jaw
The last image reveals the Easter egg- it’s an image of golden Freddy’s face indicating his arrival in the office:
To simply avoid his jumpscare, flip the camera up then down to make him go away.
Jumpscare:
Rare level- high
Eyeless bonnie
Sometimes when opening the game, you’ll find a horrifying image of eyeless bonnie:
There isn’t a specific way to access this Easter egg, just be lucky.
Rare level- high
Freddy looking at camera
If you go to cam 1A, there will be a slight chance of Freddy glaring at you- this usually appears on the later nights, once Bonnie and Chica have left:
Rare level- normal
Notice change
This Easter egg isn’t a main one, or an important one, but it shows on cam 4B a piece of paper that looks like this:
to this:
rare level- normal
It’s me ( 1)
This Easter egg is probably the easiest to find, it naturally happens, especially if Golden Freddy comes:
rare level- easy
It’s me (2)
This one ( like the notice change Easter egg) isn’t a main one, but it still nice- on cam 4A, on the right wall, written in blood, is a message saying ‘it’s me’ how spoopy.
rare level- normal
It me (3)
The last ‘it’s me’ Easter egg. On rare occasions, when foxy has left, they’ll be a slight chance that it says ‘it’s me’ instead of ‘sorry out of order’
rare level- normal
Bonnie on cam 5
This one is quite easy to find. If you switch to cam 5, Bonnie will stare into your camera with white eyes- creepy! This usually occurs on the later nights.
rare level- easy
Backstage
Found by a good friend of mine ( mr Afton/ Mr scraptrap) If you switch to cam 5 once more, it will show this
before:
after:
rare level- normal
The souls of the dead children
For me, I found this one very creepy- if you look to the right wall on cam 4A, it will show this:
to this:
rare level- normal
CD+
A common cheat code- to simply pass a night, press CD+ to reach 6am.
rare level- easy
End
So that concludes my time here- this is my first guide so it’s probably real bad but like and favourite it if you want. 😀
