Overview
Here’s everything you need to know about the FNAF characters.
The Story
Welcome to Freddy’s Fazbear Pizza where the main attractions are robots, also called animatronics. This place has a dark past. In 1987 the restaurant closed because of children murders. The restaurant was site to the disappearances of five children whose bodies were never found, after a man dressed as one of the animatronics lured them into a back room and reportedly murdered them.
The story starts at the re-opening of the restaurant in 1992. You will play as Mike Schmidt, who started a job working as a night watch security guard at the restaurant Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
Receiving warning phone calls by “Phone Guy”, the old security guard, Mike is going to learn what happened to this place.
The Characters
…these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children, and we need to show them a little respect, right? -Phone Guy
The main attraction of the restaurant is Freddy Fazbear and his 3 friends Chica, Bonnie and Foxy. From your small office you must watch them on the security cameras carefully.
Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica and the disused Foxy, are able to roam freely around it at night, because if they were left off for too long, their servomotors would lock up.
Also, if one of the robots encounters a human, they will automatically assume that it is an endoskeleton that is not in costume yet, and “forcefully stuff them” into a spare mechanical Freddy Fazbear costume, killing the person in the process
Freddy Fazbear
Freddy (originally known as Freddybear) is the main character in the game. He is an animatronic bear who, like the other animatronics in the game, is left in a “free-roaming mode” at night, during which he wanders around Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, along with the other animatronics, until 6 AM.
Locations
Along with his mates, Freddy starts on the Show Stage. He’s making his way into the DIning Area, the Restrooms, The Kitchen, the East Hall , the East Hall Corner and The Office (where you are).
Behavior
For the first 2 nights, Freddy is invactive and stays on the stage, but if the player runs out of power during the night, he’s gonna make his way to the office, which will result as a game over.
If the player “plays dead” (i.e. does not move while he plays his jingle), his attack may be delayed. Typically, doing this may keep Freddy playing his jingle a bit longer and, when the lights completely go out, may delay his attack, giving the player a bit more time to hold out until 6 AM.
He becomes active at Night 3, you can hear his footsteps or laugh.
Freddy is always the last animatronic to leave the Stage.
Chica
Chica is one of the main characters of the game. On stage, she is the backup singer standing on the right-side in Freddy’s band. Chica is a bright yellow animatronic chicken with a spherically-shaped head, orange beak, magenta eyes, and black eyebrows.
Location
She starts the night on the Show Stage along with Freddy and Bonnie.
She goes only in the Kitchen, Restrooms, The Dining Area and the East Hall. She will always approach from the right side. The player can activate the Hall Lights to check if she’s in the blind spot.
NOTE: A clashing of pots and pans will be audible, and Chica will not be visible in any other room when she is in the Kitchen.
Behavior
Chica will generally head towards the night guard’s position, similar to Bonnie, but she also wanders to the Kitchen and Restrooms. As opposed to Bonnie, Chica will show up at the door less often. Is the player fail checking at the window on the right, she will sneak in, which makes the door impossible to close anymore. Then she will attack as soon as the player lows the monitor. Chica starts to be active at the First night. She’s the second, after Bonnie, to leave the stage
Bonnie
Bonnie is the guitarist in Freddy’s band, positioned at the left side. Bonnie is a lavender-colored animatronic rabbit, with magenta eyes and a squarish muzzle. Bonnie is often mistaken as a female, as “Bonnie” is a traditionally feminine name, even though his name, he’s been confirmed to be a male.
Location
Bonnie starts on the Show Stage like Chica and Freddy. Bonnie moves only in the rooms on the left side of the restaurant, excluding Pirate Cove (Where Foxy is). This means he can appear in the Dining Area, Backstage, the West Hall, the Supply Closet, and the West Hall Corner. When looking into The Office, he appears, leaning into the left doorway from the blind spot directly behind the left door.
Behavior
Bonnie is known to return to The Office more frequently than the other animatronics. On some nights, if the player does not look at Bonnie on the Show Stage, he will not move from that location. On the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th nights, while standing in front of the camera outside The Office (CAM 2B), Bonnie’s head and jaw twitch violently in a very paranormal manner. Bonnie appears to possess supposed teleportation abilities, that’s why he appears more than Chica at door. He is active at the First night. He’s always the first one to leave the Show Stage.
Foxy
As his name suggests, Foxy is a large, animatronic fox with crimson, tattered fur. Little detail, unlike foxes, Foxy doesn’t have a tail. Foxy having a typical feminine name, the Phone Guy talked about him as a “he” , confirming Foxy is a male.
Location
Unlike the others, Foxy is pretty unique for the location. He doesn’t start on the Show Stage like his mates, He starts at Pirate Cove, inside of the closed curtain, next peeking out of the curtain, then, starts to walk for the West Hall. However, once he becomes aggressive from either not being viewed enough or being monitored too much, he leaves Pirate Cove and rushes down the West Hall towards The Office.
Behavior
Foxy hides behind the curtain in Pirate Cove. The player must check on him periodically , but not too much. If the player doesn’t check enough OR if the player checks too much, Foxy will sneak out to rush to the left door. If the player spotted Foxy running on the West Hall (on CAM 2A), the player at this point, either must have already closed the left door or must close it immediately. Foxy might sings sometimes the “Pirate Song” and you can hear “Dum dum de dum”
Foxy starts to be active at the Night 2, but it’s extremely rare to see him at Night 1.
Golden Freddy
Golden Freddy is a secret, golden colored version of Freddy Fazbear with missing eyes.
He is mainly presented in a sitting, slouched position as if he were deceased.
NOTE: There is a common theory that Mike Schmidt may be hallucinating Golden Freddy. However, Golden Freddy has no reflection on the monitor screens, this could mean Golden Freddy is a ghost or an apparition of Freddy, rather than a hallucination.
Location
He appears in the Office only.
Behavior
Unlike all of the other animatronics in the game, Golden Freddy does not give any indication of approach or arrival within The Office. He completely disregards the doors, appearing whether they are open or closed. Unlike the other animatronics, the screen will be covered by a static image of Golden Freddy’s face upon attack, akin to the images that flash during Mike Schmidt’s hallucinations. The moment the player sees him, the player must bring up the Monitor before Golden Freddy kills the night guard. Doing so will cause him to disappear, thus preventing death and a game shutdown.
Mike Schmidt
Mike is a security guard employed by Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, working on a 7-night shift from Midnight to 6 AM, until he was eventually fired after 5 nights. Despite the low pay and clear danger, Mike continues his job every night for the rest of the week for unknown reasons. There is no possible way to see Mike’s physical appearance in the game, as the player is forced to stay in the first-person view for its entirety. The reasons why he decided to work there are unknown
Hello? Hello hello? Well, if you’re hearing this, then chances are you’ve made a very poor career choice. -Phone Guy
