[Workaround] Clan Tag reverts to none BUG

Overview

Workaround for the bug has been found.Create and delete the exact same group until it works in CS:S.SAME GroupnameSAME AbbreviationSAME WebaddressJust create and test if working. If not delete and recreate. Repeat until it works. Took 5 attempts for one clan tag and 6 attempts for another that I made.Has been confirmed as working workaround by multiple people

Assumptions

• You know how to create a group and set the clan info up
• You know how to set the clan tag in the advanced game setting

The Problem

When you select a Clan Tag from menu list in game the setting reverts back to “none”
The clan tag will not display and the setting reverts back to to “none”

The bad news. There is no known way to fix an existing group that will not display the clan tag in CS:S. The clan tag will work in other games, for example CS:GO all clan tags that exhibit this bug in CS:S do work on CS:GO.

The Workaround

Workaround for the bug has been found.

Create and delete the exact same group until it works in CS:S.

SAME Groupname
SAME Abbreviation
SAME Webaddress

Just create and test if working. If not delete and recreate. Repeat until it works. Took 5 attempts for one clan tag and 6 attempts for another that I made.

Has been confirmed as working workaround by multiple people

Note: You do not have to create the same exact group. You could just create groups until one works. The reason for creating the same group over and over is that some attributes can not be edited after a group is made. Creating the group you want reserves the group attributes, deleting it frees them for the next creation attempt. Finally, when clan tag works that group is setup how you want.
