Overview
A guide on how to play our lord and savior Yung Venuz.
how2unlockgungod
Yung Venuz’s unlock method is only hinted at by loading screens, although you could just look it up on the internet to find out how to unlock him.
You unlock Yung Venuz by going to the scrapyards area (3-1) and using a screwdriver on a golden car. You’ll then be teleported to YV’s mansion, which is an area filled with lots of powerful enemies. Getting there at all will unlock YV, but getting to the end will have a weapon chest with a golden weapon in it.
abilities and ♥♥♥♥
YV’s passive is pretty useful, a moderate boost to fire rate. (20%) Not much else to say here, but it does stack with other firing speed boosts such as trigger fingers, stress, and one of his ultra mutations.
YV’s active is useful for taking down boss or tanky enemies, allowing you to fire 2x the normal amounts of bullets/shells/lasers/etc, but at the cost of 160% the reload time and 2x cost of ammo. His throne butt allows you to double the double, meaning 4x projectiles for 240% reload time and 4x ammo consumption. If you use his active while firing an automatic weapon, it’ll only fire one pop at a time, instead of firing the active like an automatic weapon. Personally, I think the active is really useful (especially in the frozen city and crystal caves) but some people don’t use it nearly at all.
YV also starts with a golden revolver by default, and it has a 0.03 second faster fire rate. Not much, but probably something to note.
You can press “B” at any time while playing YV and it will make an air horn sound. This also plays at the start of any stage.
mutations to note
Euphoria: Since you have no defence-related abilities, it might be good to have during bullet hell-like sections of the game (ie: big dog)
Rhino skin: see above.
Back muscle: You’re gonna be shooting a lot of bullets. Actually, this mutation’s good with any character.
Bloodlust (?): If you’re going for superfast firing speed, don’t pick this one up. If you don’t care and just want to survive, it’s good.
Stress: Allows you to have an insanely fast firing speed if you combine it with trigger fingers and his ultra. Don’t pick it up with bloodlust.
Trigger fingers: see above.
Throne butt: see “abilities and ♥♥♥♥” section.
Recycle gland: Bullet weapons with your firing speed are going to eat up a LOT of ammo. If you don’t use them that often, skip it.
ultra mutations
ima gun god: 40% extra firing speed, making a total passive base of 60%. see stress.
back 2 bizniz: adds another projectile to his active, but doesn’t add any reload time or ammo consumption, making his active very powerful. if you combine this with throne butt, it makes 6x pops with the extra 3 not adding any reload time or ammo. this makes you a true gun god.
conclusion
Basically, YV is a good character but is purely offense-based making him need to overpower his enemies with brute force rather than having a strategy. He’s one of the easiest to learn, easiest to master, but probably the most fun to play as.
also, bonus: you unlock his B-skin by having a golden weapon unlocked for every character.
