Best Defense and High Stats
1. Acquire the independent (Pink) Materia; Long Range.
2. Give “Long Range” mastered materia to all melee characters. Ranged characters do NOT need this.
3. Put ALL characters in the back row. They’ll deal FULL damage due to any and all of them being equiped with the Long Range materia while in the back row also boosting their defense. Applying the item “Tranquilizer” will also help since their defense will rise further more, but in doing so, your limit gauge will fill up extremely slow due to the lack of damage being recieved.
4. Acquire the armor; Mystile; which can be found in Midgar and the Northern Cave, also able to hold 6 normal growth slots. There are only two as far as I know and by far the best armor.
For the sources you’ll need this one materia. The command (Yellow) Morph Materia, can be found in the Temple of the Ancients. In order to get any type of source you must use the Morpth Materia on the enemy that Morphs into the given source. Yuffie, with her ultimate weapon, Conformer, found in the Sunken Gelnika Airplane, does not have any damage decrease when using Morph. She is the best character in order to acquire these six sources.
POWER SOURCE:
Power Source increase the strength of one individual character which increases attack power making them cause more damage in battle.
GUARD SOURCE:
Guard Source boosts your defense and defense percentage.
MAGIC SOURCE:
Magic Source increases the magic power of your “spells” materia, causing more damage and higher factors in healing from the restore materia as well as Summon materias.
MIND SOURCE:
Mind Source increases the magic resistance and magic percentage of your characters making it easier for them to last longer in battles against monsters that deal high Magic damage.
SPEED SOURCE:
Speed Source is nonetheless, the best source there is, not only does it boost the speed of your character so they can act more in combat, but also increases the defense and defense percentage and evasion, yes you heard me right, Speed Souce boosts four stats, speed, defense, defense percentage, and evasion making enemies “miss” you more, it’s the best source you can find/morph in-game of all the others.
LUCK SOURCE:
Luck Source increases the chances of dealing crits.
