Overview
These are ten tips to hopefully help out when trying to just survive and support a team.
Taking Cover
Tip #1: Keep cover at a distance, continually angling it between you and the enemy
Firefights
Tip #2: If you’re in a firefight, keep moving while you shoot.
Fire-and-Maneuver
Tip #3: If sneaking, move to another position after firing one silenced shot, even if you miss.
Use The Environment
Tip #4: Use any available explosives in the environment: cars, white fuse boxes (usually outside of a house), or gas canisters or tanks.
Teamwork
Tip #5: Stay with at least one team mate, don’t wander off alone.
Room-Clearing
Tip #6: Clear rooms in tandem with other team mates.
Weapon Types To Keep Handy
Tip #7: Keep your best spray-and-pray auto-fire weapon equipped alongside a long range semi-auto weapon such as a hunter or sniping rifle. Unless you face special situations like large-scale Guerilla-level mobs then EMPs with a sniper rifle or spray-and-pray in both slots. Try to be on a good team with people who know they are doing.
Useless Items to Discard
Tip #8: Useless stuff to not use: smoke grens or rocket rounds, low light amplifier vision module, hollow point or soft point rounds.
Update: EMP rockets or grens have become more useful against tanks. Because of fheir new ability to more rapidly launch rockets. It’s no longer effective to try and side-step (or ‘strafe’) away from their incoming barrage. The new tactic is to break cover, stun them with an EMP, auto-fire some bullets, and retake cover. Repeat as necessary.
Don’t use the two-shot Experimental (aka ‘exp’) rocket launcher. The second shot is inaccurate and never hits anything. The gold-level single-shot rocket launcher is still the better weapon and less wasteful.
Shotgun Cartridges (When and Where)
Tip #9: Use buckshot in the semi-auto and pump-action shotguns, but only birdshot in the experimental pump-action shotgun. Chokes should be used rather than silencers.
Listen For Robots
Tip #10: Runners (aka doggos) make a whirring sound when they move that can get lost in ambient birdsong or wind squalls in the trees. Stop running hard and listen carefully once in a while.
