Red Dead Redemption 2 Guide

Red Dead Redemption 2 - Original Graphical Settings for Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 – Original Graphical Settings

Overview

Here I’ll show you all the graphical settings that are equivalent to the consoles with some PC enhacements so you can have the best performance and quality.

Goal

After making a lot of tests between Console settings and Ultra preset, I noticed how little is the difference between them. Notes

    – Some GPU’s can have a hard time rendering this game, even more those with less Compute Units compare with newer or high-end from the same series. These settings won’t do miracles to limited GPU’s, but will mostly enhance the performance with minimal quality loss. If you are not happy with the performance even with this settings, try to lower your in-game internal resolution using the Resolution Scale option.

    – These settings can be applied in the regular Red Dead Redemption 2 and the Red Dead Online version (performance will be the same).

    – If you still have some free GPU usage to spare, I recommend you to Enhance the following settings:

  • Global Illumination Quality from Medium to High;
  • Near Volumetric Resolution from Low to High;
  • Water Reflection Quality from Medium to High;
  • Resolution Scale from OFF to a value equal or higher than 1,250X.
    CHANGE THE SETTINGS WITH YOUR GPU USAGE IN MIND, IF YOU CHANGED THE NEAR VOLUMETRIC RESOLUTION TO HIGH AND YOUR GPU STARTS TO STRUGGLE OR IS ALMOST HITTING 100% USAGE CHANGE IT BACK TO ORIGINAL AND TRY OTHER RECOMMENDATION OR DON’T CHANGE ANY OTHER SETTING AT ALL.
