This guide will help you survive those rough days and silent nights.

Items/things you will want to get and why you want to get them

Map and Compass
The Map and Compass will help you navigate around the terrain, these are vital tools. These tools will lead you to other items.

Katana Sword
The Katana Sword is a great weapon against enemies because it’s swift and deadly, deals quite a bit of damage too. You can get a monster on it’s back in around 4 seconds with with it! Another great use for it is for harvesting sticks and stuff because it can chop branches easily really fast!

Wooden Spear

The wooden spear is vital for easy food, simply set up a small camp near a pond and rack in all the fish! Simple as that. Enjoy your good breakfast, lunch or/and dinner!

Log Sled

Usually when harvesting logs, you can only carry 2 at a time, but with the log sled you can carry more! It’s portable, simple and fun to use! There also is a cool glitch you can do with it (not sure if it’s patched or not) where if you ram it into a large rock you get flung up into the sky like a rocket!

Great base/camp locations!

Near A Pond
Building near a pond is a great place. Once you have built a camp, you will find that your character is hungry. Well that’s not a problem, simple get your handy spear out, walk over to the pond and rack in the fish! Also. After fighting off enemies, you will find that your character is covered in blood, not a problem! Take a dip in the pond and clean yourself!

Near The Sinkhole
If your looking to enjoy your game but finish it as fast as you can, the sinkhole is the best place! Simply set up camp near the sinkhole, stay there for a bit, then end the game! (Sorry if you think this is a spoiler D:).

On A Rocky Terrain
If your looking for a safe place to build, safe as in, where enemies find it hard to run around, then a rocky terrain is the place for you! Simply set up a camp on the rocks, and when a monster(s) tries to attack/raid you, they will find it quite hard to get to you. Monsters find it hard to move on rough terrains. So they will find it hard to get to you!

Armor

Armor is quite vital in The Forest!

Bone Armor

Bone armor is tough! But not easy to find. To get bone armor, simply burn a corpse on a fire source. After around a minute in real life, the corpse will burst into bones! Pick the bones up, open your inventory, and combine some cloth and some bones to get a piece of bone armor!

Lizard Skin Armor

Lizard skin armor is tough, and quite easy to find, in order to obtain it, simply go out exploring keeping an eye out on the ground, and you will come across a lizard, kill it, skin it then open your inventory and you will see lizard skin! Press wear and boom, you now have lizard skin armor!

Stealth Armor

Stealth armor is a combination of lizard skin and leaves. Simply chop some branches and bushes to get leaves, and follow the lizard skin paragraph above this to get some lizard skin. Combine then in your inventory and there you have it, stealth armor.

Deer Skin Armor

Deer skin armor is tough, but hard to get. You need to go through the pain of killing a deer ): . Once you have killed a deer craft the armor in your inventory.
