Overview

Arcureid’s Anno 2205 Smog Guide, english VersionOn the basis of some request, I hereby provide my smog guide in English.Reason for this guide are bulky information on the net and elsewhere, you only see hints to meisst without Frontiers extension, well and this addon has changed quite a bit on the disaster system, since smog seems to have occurred too often before.After days of testing and data mining, I finally managed to get a score where smog occurs about every 45 – 60 minutes with the speed button pressed, which is about every 4 hours, so my score is about 20 hours of game time for 5x smog.Well then on to the guide. 😉

Start your Company

In order to provide as much construction space and energy as possible to start, I recommend the Walbruch basin, here you can easily expand without superalloys.

By the way, you are closing the first part of the dam.

Here I found out that ‘frequent’ catastrophes seemingly are not that common in Frontiers, on the contrary, this seems to almost completely exclude smog. (3 attempts with frequent catatrophes)

In any case, I have therefore chosen the basic disposition ‘Advanced’ and disasters on ‘Regular’, as well as issued the military attacks of the Orbital Watch.

Build and Expand

These were built by default until the first military mission.

• 1000 administrators

• Expansion of the spaceport

This is how my starting island looked like after the first conversion.

As far as I can tell, you can spread across the sector and even make the bridges. It is also recommended to complete the first stage sector project.

So first expand properly and bring your company level up, level 10+ with me has reached level 12.

At the level 12, I did not make any further effort and mainly put down workers, but I do not want to make any difference.

What you should definitely refrain from:

• take over the Aktis sector
• buy other sectors of weaker companies
• enter the orbital station or build institutes
• go public

Still waiting

If the first smog shows up, you’ve made it. Before Frontiers, it was possible to just leave the parks, but they have been rebuilt each time for safety reasons.

From now on only readiness and now and then build a house or something. Speed button ‘+’ just complain with something and look at monitor, while watching Youtube or TV.

Every 45 – 60 minutes a smog comes with the pressed speed button.

If all goes well, you can look forward to the most hated Achievment in the game.

Conclusion

The whole action takes about 4-6 hours, depending on how fast you build up in the beginning, as already mentioned this corresponds to about 20 hours of game time.

I’m really glad that I finally got it after several attempts and seemingly repeatedly made small ‘mistakes’ that the smog no longer triggers.

Guess if you stick to the extension stop, it is also possible with frequent catastrophes, so you can test times.

I really hope that it works for you, too, because this Achievment simply has nothing to do with playful skills or anything, just with statistical probability and how to manipulate the best.

For all Dataminer, Smog is supposed to have a 10% chance later in the game, so it may be possible to get it later, but with Polar Night, Sunstorm and Landslide, it’s very unlikely.
