The Dwarves
Welcome to the Craft the World Guide! Let’s get it started with looking at our dwarves.
1: Your dwarves health. When health goes to one heart or less dwarves will try and run away and refuse to fight.
2: Hunger level of your dwarves. If food goes to one level or less your dwarves may refuse to take certain actions and move at a reduced speed.
3. The skill your dwarves have. They always start with one random skill. You can add up to two more with special books that drop randomly. Using skill books increase the skill.
4. What your dwarves look like. Changes when equipping different items.
5. Helms are equipped here for defense.
6.) Axes are equipped here. Used for cutting down trees
7.) Weapons are equipped here. Bows, swords, clubs its your choice.
8.) Pickaxes are equipped here. Used for destroying blocks.
9.) Boots are equipped here. Used for defense.
10.) Armor is equipped here. Used for defense.
11.) For potions. Currently unused.
Blocks
There are nine main block types.
Mineral Blocks:
Coal:
Gold:
Iron:
Mythril:
Silver:
Non-Mineral Blocls:
Dirt:
Sand:
Stone:
These blocks will drop blue, red, dark, green, and purple crystals. They will NOT drop: pink, needle, quartz.
The easiest way to find them is from the sparkle they emit.
Notes on blocks:
If you remove a block with sand above it the sand will fall down causing damage.
Shelters
Shelters are the key to survival in Craft the World. Shelters provide protection, give you space to craft, and somewhere for them to sleep.
The first step is to create some walls. The first walls you will use are dirt. Just click on dirt you have collected and some open space.
After you have placed your background you will need to put in some walls. Wood walls will be the first ones you use. Once you have craft the walls place them the same way you have dirt. This will create your outer defensive layer.
This is an example of an “economy house”. This includes all the basics. Just enough room for your totem and stockpile with ways to escape on both ends of the house and a tunnel down. Best to complete the task of building a shelter with as few resources as possible.
Once you have gathered better resources and unlocked some new crafting recipes upgrade your house. This is an example of an upgraded house. House boundaries can extend underground. Refer to the goblin guide for a picture of a house with an underground area.

Mobs
Mobs are creatures that will attack you. Some are simple creatures. Some are the end of your world.
Hostile Mobs:
Ants
Danger Level: *
Spawns: Underground caverns
Drops: (in progress)
Ants are weak creatures so they are easy to defeat. They do spawn in mobs so only attack after you have Clubs or above.
Dragon
Danger Level: *****
Spawns: Lowest reaches of the map
Drops: (in progress)
Dragons are found in the deepest levels of the world. They attack with fireballs at range. They are hard to defeat as they move quickly and only reside above lava.
Zombie Troll
Danger Level: **
Spawns: At night above ground
Drops: Zombie brains
Fat Zombies are slow tanks. They do medium damage and have high health. More annoying than an actual threat.
Shadow
Danger Level: *
Spawns: Randomly underground
Drops: needle
Shadows are weak with low health. They don’t do much damage. More of a nuisance than anything.
Zombie:
Danger Level: *
Spawns: At night randomly above ground
Drops: Zombie brains
Zombies are medium strength mobs with medium health. They can be handled by groups of dwarves but one on one will result in loss unless you have medium + tier gear.
Skeletons:

Spawns: Gravestones or boss portal above ground
Drops: bones
Skeletons have medium health and do medium damage. They always travel in packs. They are always a danger until you get top tier gear.

Spider:
Spawns: Randomly underground
Drops: (in progress)
Bosses:
Large Skeleton
Danger Level: Very High
Spawns: Boss portal
Drops: (in progress)
Large Skeletons are extremely dangerous and strong. They can destroy droves of your dwarves even with high tier gear. You were warned!
Beholder
Danger Level: Medium
Drops: (in progress)
Beholders can spawn one or two at a time. They are not very dangerous but they do have lots of health making them more annoying.
Goblins
Goblin’s are the hardest mobs in the game so far. The spawn after about an hour of game play in a large camp. They use ladders to get to your shelter and will raid you stockpile and keep those items. They also are extremely strong.
This is the first tactic to stop the goblins from destroying your dwarves and raiding your stockpile. This tactic involves completety covering you shelter in stone. Now the goblins can’t get to you. They will stay on your roof and not move so once they get to you, you must come up with an escape route, and a way to get above ground for resources.
This is how to extend your shelter after locking the goblins out. The area covered in yellow is all considered parts of the house. Replace the 1 with a door to get outside. The arrow is the direction of a tunnel I have created to get outside further in the map. This allows you to lock out the goblins, pass the shelter check, and have a way to get above ground.
Once you have created the above shelter you need to defeat the goblins. It is not advised to attack the goblins until you have unlocked and outfitted all of your dwarves with helmets and body armor, shoes optional and clubs. This is the basic recommended equipment. Once you are ready create a portal where the goblins are and begin your assault. Don’t matter what you will have some losses and will most likely not defeat all of them in one attack. Remember to check the boss clock so you don’t send your troops out right before an attack or you will not have dwarves left to defend yourself. Continue attacks on the goblins until you eventually defeat them all. Destroy there tent to finish them off and to get some bonus items.
After you have defeated them they will randomly respawn (est: 1-2 hours later). In this time you can continue to expand your shelter and get better gear. Each time you defeat them it will become easier as you get more dwarves and hone your tactics.
Food
Food keeps your dwarves fat and full. There are many question on how to feed them so it gets it’s own section. Your first task is to create a table. Once you have created a table you can make a buffet of options for your dwarves. To place food on your table drag food to your quick bar. Highlight your selection. Then click on your table. Now your dwarves will feed themselves regularly! Add different dishes or your dwarves will get bored of the same food and not eat.
There are two special types of food. Tea and beer.
Beer makes your dwarves more productive. They build, craft and mine faster.
Tea makes your dwarves move quicker.
Wood/Wheat/Crystals
Once you begin crafting you will notice that you need wood, lots of it. Trees take their time to grow back so once you clear the map you may find yourself a little short. This is a way to speed the process a little bit to help yourself.
Your first step is to clear out an area for your trees to grow. Trees only grow in dirt so make sure that all the blocks in your cleared out area are dirt. I chose to make this area right outside of my shelter so that I can harvest it quickly.
Over time trees will grow back. As you can see clearing out a flat patch of earth allows trees to grow in a long line allowing mass collection. Best if done as early as possible to enjoy the benefits of this tactic.
Crystals:
Crystals are gathered from specific blocks that are in small groups. This is an example of me breaking a specific block to gather crystals. This block will drop: blue, red, dark, green, and purple crystals randomly. Refer to block section to get better picture.
This will drop needle crystals.
This will drop pink crystals.
This will drop quartz.
Wheat:
To grow wheat you must have grain. Grain drops from wild wheat or from rooted dirt. To grow your own wheat the first step is to place your grain in some dirt. The dirt must have roots. The second picture is of stage one wheat. Next you need to water your wheat. It then grows to stage two. Water it once more time to grow to the final stage where it can be harvested. Rain will also count as “watering” planted wheat.
Tips
Beware Signs:
Beware signs are your best friend! If you put one outside your shelter dwarves will not wander past it. Great for making sure they don’t spread out to far!
Doors:
Craft two or more doors to the entrance of your house. All mobs will have to break down each door. This buys you time to gather your dwarves and regroup. Once you unlock iron doors this causes all nighttime mobs to die before they can even get to you negating any danger whatsoever!
Grave Stones:
Skeletons will spawn every night from grave stones. Destroy these quickly to stop the rush of skeletons making you adventuring much easier. Skeletons sometimes spawn from a destroyed gravestone to get revenge.
Berries:
Don’t harvest every berry bush that you find. When you find a berry bush clear any trees or other obstructions nearby. Berries will convert other nearby dirt blocks into berry bushes. To continue harvesting cut down all but one berry bush and it will continue to expand for unlimited gathering.
