The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Guide

Babies for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Babies

Overview

Rebirth will feature local two player co-op, but no online multiplayer as to avoid extending the development time (although Ed has expressed interest in adding this feature in the future). The second player can join in at any time as a random “Baby”, taking a heart container away from Isaac and giving it to the second player. Subsequent presses of the start button will give more heart containers to the second player, and Isaac will lose them accordingly.Soul Hearts will be given to Player 2 before normal hearts, and half hearts will be given before full hearts. If player 2 dies, they can rejoin the game at the cost of another heart container, as a new random Baby. The appearance of many of the Babies is solely cosmetic, but there are a number of “special” Babies. In order to stop things from becoming too overpowered, every special Baby has a “cursed” Baby counterpart.Aside from normal, special and cursed Babies, Rebirth will also feature a full set of unlockable Babies that are tied to specific characters. For example, Maggy will have a higher % chance of generating a Maggy themed Baby once you have unlocked it.
