Spartan Bob’s Guide to Combatting Zombies

Overview

*Disclaimer: this guide assumes you already know the basics of the game, such as infection, zones, etc.*My 8 year old sister made the branding image, by the way. So, if you were like me when you first got this game you died on wave 2. Don’t be ashamed, we all have our noob moments. But after reading this guide, With just two people in the server youll survie to wave 6 godammit. (thats what I did last night :D) I brag alot.

Human’s Tactics

No More Room in Hell is a farily realistic game, it is slow paced and at first, it seems easy. Wrong. Yeah, wave one two and three were a breeze. Wait till wave 4. But il get to that later. Back to combat, (I see people doing this too much) the biggest mistake i see noobs make is that they dont push to get out of grapples, let alone push at all. By default, the push button is v. Pushing is useful for knocking zombies back when there too close, or getting out of a dangerous zombie grapple so it cant bite you. If it does, you have a chance of becoming infected. If you dont find pills in time, bye bye. The way to avoid this is simply push, dont try to kill the zombie in a grapple, push at all costs. Zombies also have a double claw attack, and if both hit, it does more damage then the bite, it’s a lot more dangerous. They will intiate the claw attack, or at least try too, after you hit them with your melee weapon. For this reason, after you attack wiht your melee (unless you have a havy weapon, such as FUBAR or fire axe, wich kills insantly,) immediately push. This will cause zombies to knockback, giving you breathing room, and cancel out there claw attack. If you stick to this hit – push attack pattern, you can safeley kill a zombie wihtout getting hurt. This tactic works on all zombie types, excluding the ‘children of the danmed’.

As for what melee weapon to use, a lot of other guides will pinpoint that certain melee weapons are better then others, but this is not true. I am as effective with a hammer as i am with a SLEDGE hammer becasue i know how to use it. AS long as you use the push dogde attack pattern, any weapon will be deadly.

When Dealing With a Horde

Ok, so your the only one left alive on your team, its wave seven. Your entire team is depending on you, but a huge hoard is approaching you. You think you have no chance, so you throw a scuicide molotov and call it a day. You dumbass.

If handled properly, a horde can be easy to deal with. If you take these steps to deal with the horde, you will survive.

1. Make sure there coming to you all from one direction, if not, try to lead them into a bottleneck where they have to come at you one at a time.

2. Use your gun to thin the horde, but not eliminate the entire gathering. Shoot them down to a sizeable number (5 – 4 zombies) until you can kill the rest in melee. This conserves ammo for later emergencies.

3. DO NOT get cocky and rush into the horde and try to mlg pro it out. YOU WILL DIE. You need to take it calmly as possible, one at a time.

4. DO NOT run away and hide from the hoarde, especially if your the last man standing. The team needs all the man power it can get, and zombies will go into the zones and neutralize them. If all znoes are neutralized, you lost the game. You cna hold down c to see where the zones are in a survival map.

5. Use explosives, but do it right. Remeber that molotov you have been wanting to set off the whole wave? now is the time. I personally recommend the molotov as the best explosive. If your using a molotv try to aim for the face of the horde, then the front and most dangerous zombies will be killed, and all the zombies coming from behind will run into the fire and die also. But be warned, flaming zombies somteimes are able to run, and there damage is doubled. If your using a dynamite or grenade, try to aim for the center of the horde, as then the blast radius will come into full effect. This doens’t need to be said, but try not to throw it at players.

Zombie Types and there Danger Levels

Shambler: the bread and butter of zombies, they will pursue you at all costs. Sometimes are hard shoot when they walk, because thier head swivels.

Danger level:1

Tactics to kill them: hit – push attack pattern

Runners: Slightly more dangerous than shamblers, they are faster and prefer grappling to claw attacs.

Danger level:2

Tactics to kill them: Headshot, hit – push attack pattern

Zombified child: They are the fastes zombie, they can’t grapple, but they naer extremley hard to shoot at becuase there so damn small. Weaker than other zombies.

Danger level:3

Tactics to kill them: if there aer more than one, get them in a tinght bunch and come at you, your melee can kill them all in one hit simultaneously.

Flamer: A zombie set aflame, they sometimes run, and there damge is doubled, making them the most dangerous zombie type.

Danger level: 10,000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Tactics to kill them: hit – push attack pattern

When and How to Use your Gun

So you have found a gun, congratulations. You wase it alll on the first wave. You suck. The biggest rule of guns is to conserve ammo. I have seen people kill each other over accusations of wasting it. You should not use your gun on normal shambler zombies. Use it on runners, to thin down a zombie horde to a sizeable number (then melee the rest) kids, barricade zombies, (if you try to melee a zombie through the barricade the boards will break, and they will claw attack you through the barricades) and zombies on stiars, for the vertical incline makes it impossible to push them, they will double claw you. alot.

As for how to use your gun, if you have a low powered firearm, it takes two headshots to kill a zombie. Because a walker zombie’s head swivels, there is always a chance of missing. To counter this, you should fire two shots as fast as possible, to minimize the time in between shots the zombie has to head swivel. This in turn, minimizes the chance of missing. Think of it as a burstfire weapon. Do not try noscoping, you COD players out there. You will miss. Always aim down the sights to shoot a zombie, unless you have a shotgun, for the bullet spread will do the job for you. Contrary to melee, certain guns are btter than others. I recommend the shotgun. It’s fast, ammo for it is commom, it is a one shot kill, and it can take out multiple zombies at once. Good for thinnig hordes, but bad for barricade shooting, you’ll destroy alot of boards, due to the bullet spread.

I hope you have learned some valuable lessons in this guide. If you see a typo, please report it to me so i can correct it.
