Overview
This is a full guide for the game, including every step you need to progress through the full story and complete every task. However, more exploration in a game such as this is never a bad thing – check out all the little things to get yourself the most out of this game and its story.
Controls
Here’s the basic run through:
- WASD to walk around
- Hold LCTRL to speed up when walking around.
- Use the mouse to move the camera around.
- Use your Mouse Leftclick to select an option once you’ve hovered over it.
- Use the Rightclick to back away.
- If you’re hovering over something and see a small arrow with some yellow markings around it, this means you can select an additional option for it for Chris – Captain Spirit intervenes! These Power moves are activated by first pressing, and holding E before clicking to select.
- Using the scrollwheel on the mouse will move between the possible options you can select.
- You can use Spacebar to skip through any content you’ve already experienced.
- Press TAB to check on your current tasks in the checklist.
- And when the CS logo appears in the top corner, you’ve made progress towards completion of your list! Note that it is possible to experience the game’s ending without completing all the tasks.
- Look at the items in your inventory by pressing I
Part One – Starting & Interior
This section covers all the tasks you should/could complete from the beginning of the game until it’s necessary to go outside to go any further. To complete the full range of tasks after following this, see the next section!
At the beginning, help Chris design his superhero costume. It’s all personal preference, so pick what you’d like for his mask, armour and colour pallette.
Have an explore around Chris’s Room. Take a look at anything you’d like. Note that there will be time to have a look at it all later on. Eventually though, Dad will call you in for breakfast. If you take too long, the options to explore will disappear, and his dialogue will become more harsh. You can also reply to his calls using the response cycle:
Head out of the room into the kitchen.
Tell Charles what you think of his breakfast, and go through the dialogue options.
From here, have another good explore around. There are plenty of things you can do while here in the house. But if you bring up the TAB menu, you’ll be able to track your progress with tasks.
Anything coloured in with a green tick at the bottom is complete. It’s up to you how far you’d like to go with this task list.
Depending on what you’ve selected at the beginning, you have a few items to find.
Cape – The most important item to retrieve. You can’t progress with some of the other tasks without it, so if you haven’t already, head to Chris’s wardrobe and use the E option on the cape to wear it.
Mask – For this you’ll need to grab the facepaints from the shelves behind the bathroom door.
Helmet – For this, examine and then use the aluminium foil on the shelving in the pantry in the kitchen.
Light Armour – Look in Dad’s room on the floor of the wardrobe nook to the right side of the bed. The sports bag in there holds the stuff you need.
Heavy Armour – This is outside, so hang tight for now. (The cardboard in the back of the pickup can be taken for the fully armoured hero look.)
Once you have all the items you need from inside, make sure you grab one last thing – the Garage Door Keys, which are on the wall by the back door in the kitchen.
– Play with Power Bear and Noctarious (Next to Chris’s desk in his room)
– Play with the Dinosaur (by the coffee table in the living room)
– Play with the Scorpion Shark Mobile on Chris’s floor by the TV
– Examine the Forest Warrior on Chris’s bedside table.
(Two more of these are outside – stay posted)
– Put the cans in the recycling bin. Take the bin outside; this will lead you back inside afterwards, and we can complete this task when we go out there in a bit.
Enter the door off the kitchen beside the back door. Put the light on using the switch to the left. From this little laundry room, open the Dark Door. You must have your cape on to do this task! Head in through this imaginary plane and go towards the swirling figure in front of Chris. Click repeatedly to fight the creature and obtain the hot water for the city!
Head to the desk in the kitchen and grab Dad’s phone. Enter in the code HAWTDAWG. For those of you who haven’t used an olden-times phone, that’s number 42983294. Thankfully you only need to access the game to get the task checked off your awesome things to do – you don’t need to work through it to get the highscore. But good luck if you try!
You’ll need to grab the car keys sitting by the sofa to far end of the coffee table in the living room.

Once you’re all done with the tasks inside, let’s go out in the snow.
Part Two – Exterior Adventure
Now that you’re all ready to carry on, the first thing you probably want to do is complete the Aim training task.
Interact with the recycling bin we put outside earlier, and Chris will set up the cans. you’ll need to knock them down with snowballs. If you struggle with any last remaining cans, aim the arrow so that it just about hits the banister of the porch.
So, if you selected the heavy armour option at the beginning, you can now grab the cardboard from the back of the pickup truck by the garage to complete the look.
From there, all you have to do is paint it! Head into the garage (make sure you have the key we lifted inside earlier). interact with the cans of spray paint on the shelf to the right, and your superhero costume sequence will begin!
While you’re in there, have a look around. You can examine some of the old boxes, and open up the locked cabinet. The code is simple – it’s Charles’ golden year from his basketball playoff days – 2005.
Grab the firecrackers from the cabinet and you’ll be able to head on to the next task – defeating the evil Snowmancer!
Head over to the snowman in the back yard, and make sure to fix it up. From there, simply add the firecrackers and watch the destruction unfold! Once defeated, Snowmancer will also be added to the list of villains on your to do chart.
Make sure to pay a visit to the treehouse to speak with Sky Pirate to add him to the allies list! You can also use your powers to open the Secret Stash, which holds the key to the treasure map. (you don’t actually need this key at all if you want to find the treasure, but it’s nice to follow the story line with it!)
Now that you have the key to the map, head back to Chris’s room to decipher it!
Part Three – Finishing Up
After heading back to Chris’s room, you can use the key code with the map to find the buried treasure. It’s not necessary to do this step, so if you’d like to stay outside and head directly to the treasure site, you can.
However, this is what the map looks like once it’s deciphered properly.
Head back outside to the Junk Pile and enter through the small gap at the side. From here, all you have to do is move forwards towards the light. You’ll be able to select which direction to go. On the map, the arrow directions which are numbered is the correct route. So you’ll need to head LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT and LEFT again to get through to the treasure.
With all your other tasks done, head over to the car. Before heading in, you can inspect the letter inside. When you’re ready, fire away! Travel to Mantroid’s world. Keep moving forwards towards the street light in the distance.
If you’d like to fight against the evils, go ahead and mash your mouse button.
In the end though, we all end back in the snow.
Wake Charles up. Choose whatever options you like in the conversations going forwards. And enjoy the game’s ending!
