Overview
A Guide to the Achievements of Stellaris, all DLCs included
Introduction
Hello!
This is a Work in Progress guide for the Achievements to Stellaris. I’m still figuring out how to do some of the new ones…if you have any tips, do tell me in a comment below!
NOTE: You HAVE to be in Iron Man Mode for the Achievements. This means the game saves every month, and you cannot manually save. You cannot exit the game and reload an old save to correct a mistake you made.
Many mods will also disable achievements if they affect the core gameplay aspects. Only cosmetic Mods work with Achievements, but even those can be iffy in my experience.
1999 A.D.
Slaughter the Voidspawn
DISTANT STARS DLC
How To Do:
The voidspawn hatches only from a DRY planet (desert/arid/savanna) with EXACTLY 20 size that orbits a class G-Star.
Build a station on stars with those requisites and wait if it will hatches or not.
He then patrols that system like a normal Leviathan, guarding the broken planet husk that houses 20 Society Research. I didn’t have any curators in my galaxy to get information on it, so I winged it with two fleets of 30k, one with a level 1 admiral and one with a level 6 admiral, wielding both lances and giga cannons to cover my bases, as well as a Titan. It went down in seconds, so that was definitely over-kill.
Further research suggests energy weapons are very strong against it
Arcana
Study Minor Artifacts and discover a random technology.
ANCIENT RELICS DLC
How to Do: First, you need the Society research Arcane Deciphering to reverse engineer Minor Artifacts from Archaeology sites. After that, go to the Traditions and Relics page and use the Reverse-Engineer Arcane Technology option for 5 minor artifacts.
Archaeologist
Successfully investigate an archaeological site
ANCIENT RELICS DLC
How to get: This one is fairly easy to get. Just complete a Excavation site and the achievement will trigger. Excavation sites will pop up randomly as planets are surveyed, you then assign a scientist to it.
Artificer
Have 100 Minor artifacts
ANCIENT RELICS DLC
How to Do: You receive Minor Artifacts from Archaeology projects. You get on average 5 per chapter of a Archaeology site, but you can also get only 1 or even 30 from a single completion of a digsite chapter. Simply store them until you hit 100.
A Home Away From Home
Conquer Another Species Home World
This one, you just have to invade a enemy’s Capital world and succeed, and it should trigger for you.
A Hump Like A Snow-Hill
Hunt the Tiyanki Matriarch
DISTANT STARS DLC
How to do: Much like the other Leviathans, you have to first discover her in the galaxy. I didn’t have any curators in my galaxy to get information on her, so I winged it with two fleets of 30k, one with a lvl 1 admiral and one with a level 6 admiral, wielding both lances and giga cannons to cover my bases. She went down in seconds, so that was definitely over-kill.
You also get a ship out of this, the AH48, which emerges from her belly after death (a joke on Captain Ahab and Moby ♥♥♥♥ ). The achievement name is also a phrase from the Moby-♥♥♥♥ book used to describe the great whale.
Battle Thralls
Have 3 other Empires as Vassals
The easiest way I accomplished this one was to uplift/enlighten primitive species within my territory. It automatically converts them to thralls for you.
Beyond the Veil
Breach the Shroud
UTOPIA DLC
Requires:
– Psionic Theory (research)
– Mind over Matter (Ascension Perk)
– Transcendence (Ascension Perk)
– Additional 2 Ascension Perks
Birth of a Federation
Establish a Federation.
You MUST be Federation leader and the creator of the Federation for this to trigger. You also have to research the technology before being able to create one.
Black Hole Mining
Build a Matter Decompressor
MEGACORP DLC
How To Do:
– CItadel technology
– Mega-Engineering technology
– Matter Decompressor Technology
Brave New World
Colonize a Planet
After researching Colony Ships, simply send one to a habitable planet and colonize it. Will be obtained during normal gameplay.
Break on Through
Research a Rare Technology
Rare Technologies are the ones with Purple borders. You should get this the moment you finish researching your first one. They can pop up at any time in the game on the Research selection screen, it is mostly down to random luck on if one will appear or not.
Building Better Worlds
Terraform a Planet
Must research the Terraforming Technology first. Can only be done on a planet in your territory.
Captive Star
Construct a complete Dyson Sphere
UTOPIA DLC
Dyson Sphere: Can only be built around a star in your borders and provides a huge amount of energy each month, with the amount increasing for each stage of the Dyson Sphere completed. Once completed, the Dyson Sphere will cool down the system, turning most planets there into frozen worlds. Cannot be built around Black Holes, Pulsars or Neutron Stars.
Requires:
Requirements:
– CItadel technology
– Mega-Engineering technology
– Galactic Wonders (Ascension Perk)
Center of Trade
Earn at least 1000 credits per month from trade
MEGACORP DLC
How To Do:
As it says, earn 1000 total credits a month from total trade deals.
NOTE: This may require 1000 credits in VALUE, not in income
Citadel of Death
Own a Citadel with 40k fleet power
Upgrade a Outpost into a Citadel, and achieve 40k Fleet Power upon it. This is done by just researching all the way up to Citadel technology, and researching all of your military technology to get hte highest damaging weapons on your Citadel and its Defense Platforms.
– Laser Weapons do more damage than Missile or Kinetic (For Defense Platforms)
– Medium slot modules pack more firepower than Small. (For Defense Platforms)
– Gun Battery Modules do more damage than MIssle Battery or Hangar Bays
– Ion Cannon provides a big damage boost, but takes up 8 defense slots
– Defense Station damage buff technology can help
– Weapon damage increase technology can help
– Eternal Vigilance Ascension Perk gives a 25% damage boost
– Synchronized Defenses (Physics Technology) allows 2nd Ion Cannon to be built (huge boost)
Clash of Titans
APOCALYPSE DLC
Defeat a Fallen Empire’s Titan Fleet with a Titan of Your Own
After researching Titans, you need to construct Titan Assembly Yards in a Citadel level space port. After building it, use itto destroy a Fallen Empire’s Titan in war
Clever Girl
Uplift a Species
Note: this is not the Enlighten option. You must research “Epigenetic Triggers” technology, and then find a pre-sentient species within your controlled territory and live on a planet you’ve colonized in order to Uplift them.
Controlled Evolution
Genetically modify a species to possess traits worth 7 points
UTOPIA DLC
Requirements:
– Gene Tailoring (Research)
– Engineered Evolution (Ascension Perk) (+2 Trait Points)
– Evolution Mastery (Ascension Perk) (+3 Trait Points)
Deus Vult
As a Spiritualistic Empire, own 4 Holy Worlds
The Spiritualistic Fallen Empire owns 4 Holy Worlds. Defeat them in a battle and conquer those planets to get the Achievement
Holy Worlds are Gaia planets with 100% habitability, but they have a special icon in the upper left of their planet screen (the usual place where you see positives or negatives for a planet)
They also have special names:Pristine Jewel, Walled garden, Prophet’s Retreat, and Emerald Mausoleum (I THINK those are the 4 names, i’m hazy on it still)
To get all 4 to spawn in one world, set your amount of habitable planets to max and use a large galaxy.
ANOTHER Way it can be done is to choose the ‘Scion’ Origin with a Spiritualist empire, then colonize your overlord’s holy Worlds. He will not stop you
Digging Deep
Earn a Total Monthly Income Above 250
A bit challenging, but can be done if you build enough mining stations and mining networks, and research the Mineral boosting technologies. If you play a game long enough, you should achieve this one normally.
Distinctiveness Added
As a Driven Assimilator, own cyborg Pops of at least 5 different species.
Synthetic Dawn DLC
As a Machine Intelligence with the Civic “Driven Assimilator”, get 5 different species and convert them to cyborgs in your Empire. This should be possible using Primitive Empires as well as normal Empires
The easiest way I found to do it was set Primitive Empires and Habitable Worlds to max, then assimilate the nearest 5 Primitive Empires by me.
Does Not Compute
Shut down the Contingency plan.
Synthetic Dawn DLC
It sounds like to get this requires 100% clearing and defeat of the Contingency
Domo Arigato
Build a Robot Pop
Research the Robot technology, then build one on a empty tile on a planet you own. MUST be a Robot Pop. Droid and Synthetic Pops do not count, and after you research those Robots can no longer be built.
Dreadnought
Restore an Ancient Warship
Leviathans DLC.
The Automated Dreadnought spawns in a random system and patrols it. To get this achievement, you need to fight it and win, and then use a Construction Ship to repair it.
Tips on fighting it:
- 30k- 50k Fleet Power is Advisable
- It has lots of shields, so Plasma and Kinetic Weapons work well
- Can buy a 25% damage increase from the Curators for 5k Energy Credits
Dust Off
Complete the Zroni Precursor Chain
ANCIENT RELICS DLC
This is fairly easy to do, as long as you get it in your generated game. To find out early if you got a DLC Precursor quest chain, build a second science ship and get them busy surveying until you get a Precursor pop up. If it’s not the right one, restart.
If you get one of the other Precursor quest lines, restart to get this specific one. It will require several archaeological digsites to complete.
Emissary
Explore a Natural Wormhole
Explore one of the new Natural Wormholes, after researching the appropriate technology, Wormhole Stabilization (Physics Technology). You then must send a Science ship, crewed by a Scientist, into the Wormhole to explore it.
Energetic
Store/Have 1000 Energy Credits
This should be easy enough to obtain if you get your game going for long enough. With enough Mining Stations and Power Plants, you can get this fairly quickly in the game.
Enlightened Times
Enlighten a Bronze Age Civilization
This one can be a bit tricky simply because it’s random on if you’ll have a Bronze Age primitive civilization be discovered. If you do find one within your borders, build an Observation station and then use the Enlighten option to technologically speed them up to space age. You will get the Achievement when it completes.
Explorer
Survey one of each basic planet-class.
I believe it is one of each planet type (I’ve seen others say it is a Planet, Moon, and Asteroid that are required).
Planet types:
- Arid
- Desert
- Savanna
- Alpine
- Arctic
- Tundra
- Continental
- Ocean
- Tropical
- Gaia
Exterminatus
Use a World Cracker to destroy another Empire’s Capital Planet
APOCALYPSE DLC
As it says, use the new World Cracker technology to destroy a Capital planet of an enemy Empire. The Colossus Ascension Perk requires 3 other Ascension perks chosen first, and then results in an Engineering project you must complete before you can begin making one. You then need to install ‘Colossus Building Module’ on a Citadel level spaceport.
I think the easiest way to do this is one of two ways:
1. Small galaxy, no AI empires, lots of primitive Empires. Expand your empire over the course of the game, Enlighten an Empire and then release them and crack their world open.
or
2. Let an Empire reach space age on their own, then go to war with them. I think #1 is easier.
Faster, Stronger, Better
Genetically alter a species (not uplift).
Requires “Genetic Tailoring’ Research in order to do. If the species lives on a planet within your territory, you can alter them. You do this from the Species tab.
Franchising
As a Corporate Empire, have at least 5 branch offices on other Empires’ capitals
MEGACORP DLC
How To Do:
Coming Soon
Giga Engineering
Have at least 4 fully operational Megastructures within your borders (Habitats, Ring Worlds and Gateways do not count)
MEGACORP DLC
How To Do: As it suggests, just have 4 Mega-Structures in your territory. You can find ruined ones to repair to make this easier, or just build them all yourself
Grand Admiral
Empire total fleet military power equals 100000.
This one takes some dedication to achieve, and is a mid to late game achievement. YOu need to have your total military fleet equal 100k.
I accomplished this by:
- Playing Military Dictatorship / Martial Empire Governments (10% / 20% fleet capacity size)
- Build and Upgrade many spaceports
- Research all Fleet Capacity increasing technology
- Build big ships and equip them with the highest firepower weapons (pure numbers matter here)
- Certain Edicts can increase your fleet size when in the final stretch
Green Thumb
Complete the Baol Precursor Chain
ANCIENT RELICS DLC
This is fairly easy to do, as long as you get it in your generated game. To find out early if you got a DLC Precursor quest chain, build a second science ship and get them busy surveying until you get a Precursor pop up. If it’s not the right one, restart.
If you get one of the other Precursor quest lines, restart to get this specific one. It will require several archaeological digsites to complete.
Hear Me Roar
Hatch the Egg
Leviathans DLC .
The Egg in question is a Ether Drake Egg. After killing the Ether Drake, you can survey and build upon the ‘Dragons Hoard’ Planet, a 30 mineral / 30 energy credit planet. It will take a LONG time, but eventually a mission pops up to recover and incubate a Ether Drake egg. Upon its hatching, you get the achievement, and an adorable baby Ether Drake fleet unit
To kill the Ether Drake in the first place, you can possibly do it with a fleet of 12k heavily specialized for anti-armor and with the Curator damage buff, but you’d be risking a defeat. The Drake has very heavy armor,s o you will want to gear towards countering that. 30k with Lances is a safer bet
Humble Pie
Humiliate an Empire that is in the Supremacy Diplomatic Stance, Forcing them Out of it
Federations DLC
How to do: (Thanks SleepyCat)
This can be done easily with 0 AI empires and a few fallen empires. We have to build a big empire, and a lot of fleets. Find a Fallen Empire that can be made angry easily. For example: Holy Guardians. We can destroy or colonize a holy world.
They will be angry and the player has to choose War Goal: Humiliation. And win the war, so the fallen empire will be humiliated.
This is why it’s time-consuming, because it’s not enough to just provoke them, the war has to be won too
I Can See Forever
Construct a complete Sentry Array
UTOPIA DLC
Sentry Array: Can be built around any non-inhabitable non-moon non-asteroid planet (similar to Habitats) and functions as a sensor station, providing sensor range in a radius that grows for each stage of the Sentry Array completed. Once fully finished, it will give complete sensor view of the entire galaxy.
Requires:
– CItadel technology
– Mega-Engineering technology
– Sentry Array Technology
Imperial Highway
Own 4 active Gateways
Gateways are natural-occuring features in various systems. They can be identified by a red icon for a system containing a disabled Gateway. They can be repaired with “Gateway Activation” Technology, a Physics Technology. You have to expand your territory until you own four, and activate them once you have the technology.
You can also research technology to build Gateways, (physics technology), and construct your own.
Infinite Creation
Birth a New Universe
Leviathans DLC.
Help the Infinity Sphere birth a new universe. When you find the Infinity Sphere, do not do anything based on your Ethics. Always choose ‘Contact main Processor’. Use a Level 3 Scientist to help them with their research. At the end, you get a random result. One of them triggers this achievement, the others give research bonuses.
Inscrutable Power
I won the Galatron and all I got was this lousy achievement
MEGACORP DLC
How To Do:
According to the code, (a file called Caravaneer_Events). Each time you open a reliquary (6 per game at the caravaneers base, 500 day cooldown) there is a 1/200 chance (0.5%) of winning the Galatron, 59/200 (29.5%) chance of winning nothing and a 140/200 (70%) chance of winning one of 14 items (which specific item is weighted by some factors such as what has previously been won). So about a 3% chance of winning a Galatron in any given game. (Thanks Haphaz)
To purchase a Reliquary, you have to buy ‘Caravaneer Coins’ with credits and purchase it.
It Belongs In A Museum!
Find a Relic
ANCIENT RELICS DLC
How to Do: Find a Major Relic (not the Minor Relics you get commonly). This can be done by completing one of the Ancient Ruin precursor chains, or defeating a Leviathan, etc.
It Followed Me Home
Befriend a Space Amoeba
DISTANT STARS DLC
How to do:
– You will receive an Anomaly about movement in the atmosphere of a gas giant.
– Upon researching it, you will receive a pop up about it being a docile juvenile amoeba. You have three options, you will want to pick the one that allows it to come home whit you for this achievement. As soon as you click on the option, it becomes a ship you can control, and you will receive the achievement.
Last, Best Hope
Lead the non-aligned powers to victory against an awakened empire.
During the War on Heaven between Fallen Empires, you must decline to take a side and then lead the other neutral nations to victory over BOTH Fallen Empires.
League of Nations
Be a Founding Member of the Galactic Community
Federations DLC
How to do: (Thanks SleepyCat)
Requirement: At least 2 AI empires
The 3 empires (Including Player) have to agree to create the Galactic Community. A message appears and it has to be accepted. The message will popup later again, if the galactic community wasn’t created. So there is a chance later to create it again
Let Us Go Forwards Together
Level Up Your Federation
Federations DLC
How to do: (Thanks SleepyCat)
Requirement: At least 1 other empire
A Federation has 5 levels. By assigning envoys to the federation it can earn +10 XP every months. It helps to have similar governing ethics with the other empires, so they will agree to create a federation. The distance also matters (the closest we are to the other empires, the higher the chance they will agree to form a federation), and the opinion of the other empire(s) can be increased with Envoys “Improve relations”.
Like Tears in Rain
Evolve into perfect, immortal machines
UTOPIA DLC
Requires:
– Droids (Research)
– Synthetics (Research)
– Synthetic Personality Matrix (Research)
– Flesh is Weak (Ascension Perk)
– Synthetic Evolution (Ascension Perk)
– + 1 Random Ascension Perk
Mad Genius
Recruit a scientist from the Curators.
Leviathans DLC
Must first have +50 reputation with them. Upon recruiting your very first one you will get the Achievement. Gives you a 5 Star Scientist with a +15% research speed
Megapolis
Have a planet with 100 Pops
MEGACORP DLC
How To Do:
On a single planet, get 100 Pops. This will require using a lot of Housing buildings, Housing Districts, and research increasing how much housing those features provide a planet in order to reach this cap. Using the new Corporation city planet ascension perk will assist too.
Mutual Understanding
Successfully negotiate a trade deal.
Can be done fairly early game, after you’ve met your first alien Empire. Even a simple deal to exchange Star Charts will get you the achievement.
New Shining Star
Upgrade your capital to an Imperial Complex.
Apply the final upgrade to the government building. This one can only be built on your Capital World.
No Khan Do
Kill the Great Khan in battle
APOCALYPSE DLC
After the Khans band together into a Great Khan, destroy them. It’s a tough fight, but do-able as long as you are prepared.
Obscure Tastes
Build a Mega-Art Installation in a nebulae system
MEGACORP DLC
How To Do:
Build the Mega-Art Intallation center, but only in a system within a nebula.
Requires:
– CItadel technology
– Mega-Engineering technology
– Mega-Arts installation technology
Old Friends
Receive a Gift from a Fallen Empire
Befriend a Fallen Empire to the point they gift you something. Very easy to do with a Xenophile Fallen Empire. Usually you have to do a few things for them first.
Omnicultural
Have your ruler be of a different species class than your founding species.
This means if you are a Humanoid species, you cannot have a Humanoid Ruler, even if they’re not of your actual created species.
I got this by researching ‘Allow Android Rulers’ and then elevating a Synthetic Pop into a Ruler position.
Opposites Attract
Have All Eight Ethics Represented in Your Federation
Federations DLC
How to do: (Thanks SleepyCat)
Galaxy Size: Small (400 Stars)
AI empires: 0
Habitable worlds: 1x
Primitive civilizations: 2.5x
Lowest diffciulty and AI aggressiveness.
No crisis.
I built starbases, and colonized a lot of planets, and built observation posts around every primitive world. And turned on passive observation. When all the systems were explored, so I was sure there are no more primitive civilizations, I enlightened (technological enlightenment) one empire (only 1). Release subject (because only independent species can form a federation), and I formed a federation with them. Of course they agreed because I enlightened a civilization with similar ethics. 🙂 I still had 5-7 more primitive civilizations in my galaxy, so enlightened all of them, and they will automatically be part of my federation (it was a galactic union, not hegemony, because the Galactic union has a level 1 perk: -50% Cohesion loss from Ethics). It is also a question of luck if we will have all the ethics on the Federation , but if there are enough (for example 2.5x in the beginning can be increased to 5x) enlightened empires, the chance is very high. And yes they will all join the federation, even the Xenophobe empires. (comment: Fanatic Xenophobes can’t be enlightened, but Xenophones can be.)
Our Fleets Will Blot Out the Stars
Construct a Mega-Shipyard
Federations DLC
How to do:
First, you must progress far enough in the game to reach the end-game Society research for Mega-Shipyards. This is a purple rare research, and so you will have to just keep researching Tech until it pops up as an option.
– It has to be built around a sun, and NOT a Binary/Trinary system
– It cannot have a research station already over that sun
Outside Context
Invade pre-FTL Earth while it is in the midst of a world war.
This one is a bit luck based because you first have to find Earth and the Sol system where it isn’t in enemy territory, and find it while it’s in a World War.
You need to be able to have Unrestricted Wars and Native Interference, so NOT Xenophile, Pacifist, or Individualist
Pandora’s World
Use a Global Pacifier to shield a planet belonging to Fanatic Purifiers, Ravenous Swarms, or Determined Exterminators
APOCALYPSE DLC
The Colossus Ascension Perk requires 3 other Ascension perks chosen first, and then results in an Engineering project you must complete before you can begin making one. You then need to install ‘Colossus Building Module’ on a Citadel level spaceport. If you are a Pacifist Empire, you will automatically get the Global Pacifier version.
Otherwise, Once one is built, you will eventually get Global Pacification Technology (Physics). Note: This may not be available for all Empire types, but I did get it as a Materialist-Militaristic Empire.
Paradise Found
Terraform a planet into a gaia world.
Requires special research to be able to Terraform a planet into a Gaia world, as well as requires Terraforming Liquids and Terraforming Gases to put it down to an affordable price. You HAVE to have max energy capability, so you also need all of the Engine tech that increases your Power Credit storage capacity
Requires:
-Terrestrial Sculpting (Research)
– Atmospheric Manipulation (Research)
-Climate Restoration (Research)
– World Shaper (Ascension Perk)
Patron
Support the Artisan Troupe for 10 years.
Leviathans DLC
Seems fairly simply and usually is, though certain things can randomly happen that cancel your Patronage. Costs 25 Minerals and 25 Energy Credits per month to be their Patron.
Payback
As a humanoid species, infiltrate the homeworld of pre-FTL reptilians.
This one is also a bit luck based, because it is completely random on if you will find a Primitive Reptilian species that is also in the right technological age to infiltrate them. But if you do, infiltrate them via the option on the Observation Post (have to allow it in your Policies)
Xenophobe has Unrestricted native interference by default, so choosing them would be a good option. When you find a Reptile species you need to build a observation post over their planet and wait for them to reach the Industrial Age/Machine Age/Atomic Age (or find ones already in those ages), and then activate Covert Infiltration.
What I did was make a Humanoid Empire and start games in the Medium (600) star galaxy. I would use my single Science ship to patrol around, only surveying habitable planets. If I did not find a Reptile primitive species of the appropriate technology level within a respectable distance of my starting location, I would restart and try again. Eventually I got what i wanted right off the bat and completed it in less than a decade of gameplay.
Peacekeeper
As a pacifist Empire, be at peace for 200 consecutive years (crises do not count as wars).
The easiest way to do this is just to spawn in a single player game with 0 AIs just wait 200 years
Push back the crisis times if you need more help.
Planet of the Mechs
Terraform a planet into a Machine World..
Synthetic Dawn DLC
Requires you to be Machine Intelligence, and to take the Machine Worlds Ascension Perk. You also need Terraforming technologies, and 2 other Ascension Perks.
Planned Obsolescence
As a materialist empire, have at least 75% of the pops in your empire be robotic in an empire with at least 200 pops.
This achievement took me 270 years and 44 planets to achieve. There are two ways to accomplish it:
1. Building robots in a normal Empire
- Use the Pacifist Government, and Peaceful Bureaucracy ( +5 Core Planets immediately)
- Create a Race with a strong Engineering / Research Speed
- Colonize habitable planets around you with your own species until you hit 200 Pops (no more)
- Choose large planets / Systems with multiple planets (even if uninhabitable ones)
- Start colonizing uninhabitable planets with Robots (after you get the Research done)
- Fill Robot planets with power plants to power more robots
- Once a world is fully developed, put it in a Sector with Redevelopment DISABLED
- Keep colonizing planets until you have 75% robot population (advisable to NOT get Synthetics. Droids are okay.)
2. New Utopia way to achieve it:
- Research Synthetic Evolution Ascension Perk (see “Like Tears in Rain” achievement in this guide)
Power Overwhelming
Store/have 5000 EC.
This should come naturally during game play as you research Technology that increases your Energy cap and build Mining Stations / Power Plants.
Put A Ring On It
Have a ringworld section as your capital.
There are three ways to do this:
1. Conquer the Materialist Fallen Empire and take over their Ringworld
2. Repair a destroyed Ring World
3. Construct your own Ring World (Utopia Expansion)
Queening
Successfully capture an extragalactic matriarch.
A End-Game crisis, the Prethoryn Swarm will appear if no other End-Game Crisis have appeared already. They will enter at a specific point of the Galaxy, and after a long while of the invasion, the Queen will appear. The first to recover her will get the special unit, and the Achievement.
If the Crisis is defeated too soon, she will not show up.
How to:
The best way to do this is to have control of the Galaxy before hand. If setting out for this achievement specifically, a aggressive species that can colonize fast and take over the Galaxy is a good choice. I happened to get mine without seeking it specifically, and got it without even controlling much of the map.
When the Swarm appears, it will hopefully be in your territory or in a friendly Empire’s territory. The AI CAN beat you to this, so you want to be close and ready to act the moment the Queen pops up.
They have to still control a planet for her to appear, so what I did was cleanse all but one planet and then camp a system nearby
I had my fleet (70k strong at the beginning, 100k strong by the time the Queen showed up) of pure battleships with Gauss Canons / Energy Disruptors / Swarmer Missles / Point Defense / Bomber Wings sitting in a nearby system killing swarm fleets as they were sent to me. They were super easy to destroy, I lost maybe one or two ships per fight of equal strength fleets.
When the Queen showed up, I moved in on the last planet. I defeated the fleet and dozens of colonizing infectors that were there, and then sent in my waiting science ship for the Queen. The AI Empires were all too far away to get there faster than me with this strategy.
(Note: The swarm are relatively short range. Tachyon Lances and that chain of Tech is optimal, but I hadn’t had it appear yet for my Empire and I still succeeded so they are not required. If you have them, great! If not, you can still do this)
Raiders of the Lost Galatron
Capture the Galatron from another Empire
ANCIENT RELICS DLC
How to Do: First, a Empire other than you must win the Galvatron (See Inscrutable Power). Then, you must take it away from them
If another empire has the Galatron, every empire will have a casus belli on them (this can be seen under the Contacts). The Galatron can be claimed. It can appear as a War Goal. One method is to get the Galatron first, surrender it in a war with another Empire, and then win it back from them.
(Thanks SydneyCat ❤ )
It also appears you may need to be careful to not completely annihilate them. Take a few systems along with the Reclaim Galvatron war goal, but not destroy their entire Empire.
(Thanks machcio)
Relic Hunter
In one game, find 5 Relics from the Ancient Relics Story Pack
ANCIENT RELICS DLC
How to Do: You must find, and collect, 5 Relics specifically from the Ancient Relics story DLC. There are 9 that I know of, 2 of which are Precursor related so you can only get either one or the other if you get a Ancient Relics Precursor quest chain in your game.
Resourceful
Have access to ten different strategic resources.
This one is a bit tricky simply because it’s random chance on if the resources you are researching will show up within your controlled territory. It is possible to trade for Strategic Resources, and buy them from the Trade Enclave, to supplement the amount you have already and get this Achievement.
There are 16 total you can have access to.
Retirement Home
As a Rogue Servitor, own at least 10 Pops from Fallen Empires..
Synthetic Dawn DLC
As a Machine Intelligence with the Civic “Rogue Servitor”, conquer a Fallen Empire and have 10 of their pops as Biological Trophies in your Empire
Return to Dust
Destroy an enclave.
Leviathan DLC
As it says, you destroy an Enclave. They have a power of 10k, so as long as you arrive with more you should have no problem fighting them.
Rift Sealed
Destroy the portals employed by the invaders from another time and space
End-Game Crisis. The Unbidden are summoned when you Research / Use Jump Drive Technology. They will appear through a portal into your galaxy. The first person that destroys the Portal gets the Achievement. Note: it is heavily defended, go prepared.
Ringworld Engineers
Construct a complete Ring World
UTOPIA DLC
Ringworld: Can only be built around a planet-rich star in your borders and, once finished, provides four maximum size 100% habitable planets. The Ringworld construction project will consume all planets in the system to be used as building materials. Cannot be built around Black Holes, Pulsars or Neutron Stars.
Requires:
– CItadel technology
– Mega-Engineering technology
– Galactic Wonders (Ascension Perk)
– 1 other Ascension Perk
Rise of the Machines
As a Determined Exterminator, conquer or eliminate all biological Empires in the galaxy.
Synthetic Dawn DLC
As a Machine Intelligence with the Civic “Determined Exterminator”, purge all biological life.
This achievement is easy to get, if you create two Machine Empires and check the box on the Empire page to force one to spawn in, then select the other for your Empire. Start a Tiny galaxy, set AI empires to 1, Fallen Empires to 0, turn off Primitives, and start game. Your other Machine Empire should be the one spawned in the game with you, giving you the achievement right at the start.
Slave to the Systems
As a collectivist empire, have at least 200 enslaved pops in an empire of at least 500 pops.
This one takes time and patience. If you have a long-running Collectivist game you should get it in time.
Some tips:
– You CAN Enslave purely your own people and get this
– It counts GROWN pops. While you may hit 500, it might not go off immediately until you have 500 Grown pops
– Having Adaptable/Highly Adaptable works well for enslaving your own species.
– Regulated or Unregulated Slavery makes no difference.
Star Struck
Own 200 Starbases (Outposts are counted)
Using the new process of expanding territory in 2.0. build 200 Starbases. This should occur during normal gameplay if you expand enough
Stay on Target
Destroy another Empire’s Colossus while it is in the process of firing on a planet
APOCALYPSE DLC
As stated, manage to destroy a Colossus while it is in the process of destroying a planet. This can be tricky to do, as while the Colossus has very little health, it is usually defended by the rest of the fleet.
Stellar Performance
Take a trophy from a stellar being.
Leviathans DLC
Finding and destroy the Stellarite Devourer and harvesting its remains will give you this Achievement. 16-20k fleet is suggested for destroying it, possibly more. Appears to be restricted to Militaristic or Xenophobe Ethos Empires
Strategic Initiative
Build a Strategic Coordination Center
MEGACORP DLC
How To Do:
– CItadel technology
– Mega-Engineering technology
– Strategic Coordination Center technology
Suffer Not the Alien
As a xenophobic empire, purge all other sentient species in the galaxy.
This one is fairly easy if you’ve had experience with Stellaris warfare.
You MUST destroy all sentient life. This includes Empires, Primitives, and Enclaves.
Some Tips:
- Use a Tiny universe
- Use Xenophobic of course, I prefer Military and Materialistic alongside it.
- Turn off Fallen Empires
- Reduce starting AI down to 1 (less powerful foes to defeat later on)
- Build observation posts over every Primitive species you can (makes it easier to find them later to kill)
- Your own species does not count, even if modified with Gene Tailoring or Horizon Signal DLC event chain
Supremacy
Win a War against another Empire.
If you are a aggressive Emipre, you should get this naturally during the game. Even more peaceful Empires have a chance to get it, when fighting defensive wars.
The Good Stuff
Purchase a rare resource from the Traders.
Leviathans DLC
Purchasing a Strategic Resource from the traders will trigger this Achievement immediately. Doesn’t matter what kind.
The Grand Fleet
Build a fleet with a total fleet-size above 120.
This one counts the number of ships, rather than fire power. You should get it eventually if you play a game long enough and build enough ships.
The Industrial Re-Revolution
Earn a total Mineral income each month above 1000.
This one takes some work to get, that’s for sure.
Some tips:
- Design a Species with Mineral-increasing abilities (Strong / Very Strong), etc.
- Research Mining Networks and anything that boosts Miineral Income as you get them
- Build as many Mining Networks as you can get away with (do pay attention to food/energy you need)
- Time and Patience
Then Virgil, Now Beatrice
Return a long-dead species to life.
While exploring and researching various pop ups, there is a chance you will come across one about dead aliens. You can either leave them alone, or download their neural patterns.
Providing you are playing with Fallen Empires, downloading their neural patterns will eventually lead one of them to ask you to make a copy so they can clone them, netting you this achievement.
Think Tank
Construct a complete Science Nexus
UTOPIA DLC
Science Nexus: Can be built around any non-inhabitable non-moon non-asteroid planet (similar to Habitats) and provides a huge amount of science each month, with the amount increasing for each stage of the Science Nexus completed.
Requires:
– CItadel technology
– Mega-Engineering technology
– Science Nexus technology
Throw Your Weight Around
Have a Diplomatic Weight of over 9000
Federations DLC
How to Do: (Thanks SleepyCat)
This achievement only needs time to build a quite big empire with a high number of Pops, Fleet Power, Technology and Economy power
Tourist Trap
As an individualistic (Now Egalitarian) empire, own a planet with at least 10 different species on it.
The easiest way to get this one is to defeat the Xenophile Fallen Empire and take over their Species Preserve planet, which should easily have more than 10 species. You can also Resettle pops onto a planet if you adjust your policies.
Towards Utopia
As an Egalitarian empire, Have at least 500 Pops living under Utopian living conditions in your Empire
Easy to do. You have to be a Egalitarian Empire that allows Utopian liviing conditions, and then work your way towards having 500 Pops.
Tradition is Everything
Unlock all 42 Traditions
Play your Empire long enough to unlock all 42 Traditions. Building Unity generating buildings and technology, and having Unity-assisting Empire build, will assist in achieving this faster. Setting starting galaxy settings for Traditions to 0.25 will speed this up.
Unboxing
Open up a shielded world.
While surveying random galaxies you have a very rare chance to come across a ‘shielded world’. You can tell it immediately because it is a bright green orb that looks vastly different than any other world.
If it is in Fallen Empire territory and you survey it, it will give you a research project, and doing it gives you the achievement. I have heard there are multiple results and only one gives you an achievement.
Surveying it outside of Fallen Empire territory does not yield a research project apparently, but gives the planet a hefty Physics bonus
United Space
Build a Interstellar Assembly
MEGACORP DLC
How To Do:
– CItadel technology
– Mega-Engineering technology
– Interstellar Assembly technology
Unlimited Power!
Use the active effect of a Relic
ANCIENT RELICS DLC
How to Do: ONce you obtain a Major Relic, go to the Traditions and Relics page and activate it to get this achievement.
Unraveling Enigma
Uncover the secrets of an ancient fortress.
Leviathans DLC
YOu have to first fight the Enigmatic Fortress (I successfully did it with a 35k power fleet using Gauss Canons, Mining lasers, and attack craft. It appears to have high shields.
After that, it gives you the option to use a science ship or a transport ship to research it. I used a transport ship.
After that, you need to solve the various puzzles to begin the next stage. All rewards are the same, your method of accomplishing it will vary.
Unstoppable Force
Build a Juggernaut
Federations DLC
How to do:
Firstly, you will need to progress far enough in the game to get the end-game Engineering Research for Juggernauts / Colossal Assembly Yards. This is a purple rare research, so you will just need to keep researching until it pops up. I got it to appear after I had researched Titans and three types of Megastructures.
You then need to construct Colossal Assembly yards into a empty Citadel starbase, in a free Building slot.
Very Open Borders
As a xenophilic empire, have migration treaties with at least 10 other empires.
Works well with the Individualistic Achievement. Create a charming and friendly species to convince 10 other Empires to sign migration treaties with you.
Victorious
Win the game through any victory condition.
I achieved this one by being a Xenophobic, Military Empire in a Tiny universe and wipe every other Empire out. It can be achieved in a variety of ways, but I found that to be the most reliable and least frustrating.
View from the End of the World
Build a Habitat station in a Black Hole system
UTOPIA DLC
Requirements:
– Habitat Technology (Engineering)
(- Star Fortress (Research) required)
note: You need to COLONIZE it as well, the Achievement doesn’t say that. But it only unlocks after you colonize the Habitat
Voight-Kampff
Develop the means to prevent nefarious infiltration.
This is a End-Game Crisis that comes from using Android technology (the final upgrade to Robot pops) and then sparking a AI sentience rebellion. During the war, a event chain will pop up to do some research. When you complete it, you get this Achievement.
There are several guides on how to get this achievement so I won’t go into much detail since they’re already out there.
Warrior of Light
Destroy a wraith.
Leviathans DLC
This one is tricky because of how the Wraith / Specter works. It spawns from a Pulsar 30 years after you discover the pulsar (or an AI does).
it will then hop from system to system, fly to the sun, and then move on…destroying everything in its path.
I defeated one with no prior knowledge with a 72k fleet armed with lances and gauss cannons. I heard that being in a ystem with a star the same color as the wraith gives you improved damage.
We Are Legion
Be a Biological Hivemind with at least 1000 Pops
UTOPIA DLC
How To Do:
As its description says, be a biological hive mind and reach 1000 pops. This is going to take a while, and if you feel like just cheesing it you can build a race with highly adaptive skills and 0 AI empires in order to have the galaxy to yourself and just expand like crazy.
What Came Before
Find the home system of a precursor empire.
You should discover this through the normal exploration of the universe, unless you happen to have bad luck and some of the events go undiscovered until the empires around you have eaten up all explorable territory. If you fail it one game, keep trying! You will eventually complete it.
What Was Will Be
Close the loop, or don’t.
The Horizon Signal DLC. You activate it by exploring a Black Hole (random if it activates or not, no specific Black Hole). You have to follow the story line through all the way to completion.
There may be more to it, I’m not sure what is ‘fluff’ for the DLC and what is required for the achievement
Whatever it Is, I’m Against It
Refuse to Belong to any Club That Would Have You As a Member
Federations DLC
How to do:
Possibly: (From Mr 呉 )
don’t join the galactic community, then join the Federation and leave immediately。
Also: (From: Haphaz)
1) forming a hegemon before the galatic council join up message
2) waiting until the ‘galatic council formed despite you’ message popped up
3) leaving my own hegemon federation – it triggered right away
(From SleepyCat)
1. I created a federation with one empire.
2. When the Galactic community message appeared, I rejected it. So the galactic community was created without me (the other empires still wanted to create it.)
3. I left the federation.
We’re Number One
Be the Leader of a Max Level Federation
Federations DLC
A Federation has 5 levels. By assigning envoys to the federation it can earn +10 XP every months. A level 5 federation needs 9600 XP, so it takes some time. It helps to have similar governing ethics with the other empires, so they will agree to create a federation. The distance also matters (the closest we are to the other empires, the higher the chance they will agree to form a federation), and the opinion of the other empire(s) can be increased with Envoys “Improve relations”.
Whence it Came
Defeat a horrifying invader.
Leviathans DLC
Find and kill a Dimensional Horror. They have a chance to spawn in any Black Hole system. They are quite powerful, but it is possible to defeat them.
– He has a very long range attack, and a more unpredictable short range attack.
– The Curators will sell you a 25% damage boost as well.
– It has no shields
– 30k fleet minimal suggested
Who Scraps the Scrapper
Destroy the Scrapper Bot
DISTANT STARS DLC
First you must find it in your galaxy, if it has spawned, like any Leviathan. Battleships do poorly against it, you want ships with high evasion. This is one of the harder leviathans to fight!
I used a fleet of mostly corvettes with Devastator Torpedos, lvl 3 plasma throwers, and lvl 3 disruptors. I used the advanced afterburners for increased evasion, and max researched Impulse thrusters and combat computers for the increased evasion there. I did have a few spare ships thrown in, like a handful of destroyers and a couple of battleships. Admiral was lvl 2. If you fail and have to retreat, it takes a LONG time for his armor and health to regenerate, so that’s a bit of a silver lining to the failure. I had to go back twice after rebuilding my fleet before I finally killed him.
Xenophage
Keep at least 5 different species as livestock in your Empire
Keep 5 species as livestock slaves. This means you need to be an ethic that allows slavery. Xenophobe is a option.
The easiest way I found to do this was to raise the Primitive toggle really high, then find 5 primitives near me, invade all of them, and set them all to Livestock. It is easier and faster than trying to conquer 5 other Empires.
You’ve Been Served
Denounce an Empire that is not actually in breach of galactic law while all major sanctions have been passed
Federations DLC
Possibly: (From Mr 呉 )
Unlock all condemnation rules, then blame a country that has done nothing wrong
How to do (Thanks SleepyCat)
The strategy written in (8) Opposites attract works here too. We have to build a very strong empire (I actually colonized the entire galaxy, but it was only a tiny galaxy with 200 stars). As we don’t have other AI empires, it’s easy to grow. Then enlighten a few primitive civilizations and form the Galactic Community. A huge fleet or technologically advanced empire will cause us to have a 10-20x times bigger diplomatic weight than the other 2 empires in the Galactic Community. So it’s simple to pass all the sanction resolutions. It seems that there is a given order we have to follow. Firstly Minor sanctions, secondly Moderate sanctions , and finally Major sanctions. All the major sanctions have to be passed. Then we can choose “Harm relations” and to harm our relations with any empire in the Galactic Community. When the relation will be Tense or Terrible, a new option will appear in the Galactic Community: Denounce empire. This resolution has to be passed too, but with a high diplomatic weight it is just a question of time (Galactic Council can declare a Resolution an Emergency Measure, so this helps too).
…And Hope?
Unseal the path to the L-Cluster
DISTANT STARS DLC
How to do:
– First, you need to explore until you discover a L-Gate, which will be deactivated until you learn the research to activate it. You also will now have a L-Cluster situation log entry. You need a total of 7 Insights
– Insights can be collected in a wide variety of ways – from anomalies and exploration, from defeating certain enemies, and from researching a repeatable technology that becomes available once your empire is sufficiently advanced to conduct independent research on nanites. (From Dev Log #112 )
– Once you have control of a L-Gate, you will get a project to Activate it. This will require a scientist to be present. It appears there are multiple, randomly decided chances of what is on the other side. These can be good, like a peaceful system full of unique resources, or bad…like fleets of Nanobot warships in the area of 19k-32k fleet power. It appears the enemy hostile result is far more common than the other ones, so definitely wait until you have a large fleet before opening it.
…To The Other Side
Research 15 Rare Technologies.
You should get this one in the normal process of playing the game, as there are a lot of Rare technologies out there and if you play the same game for long enough, you should get this one.
Big Red Button
Destroy the Galaxy
Nemesis DLC
How to get:
First you will need to achieve the “Become the Crisis” ascension perk. This has specific requirements, and excludes specific governments. You can see the requirements here:
- You must have at least two ascension perks unlocked before picking Become the Crisis
- Canonot be Xenophile Ethic
- Canonot be Fanatic Xenophile Ethic
- Canonot be Pacifist Ethic
- Canonot be Fanatic Pacifist Ethic
- Canonot be Rogue Servitor Civic
- You must have an empty Ascension Perk slot
After that, you need to research the “Become the Crisis” research (Total of 5), each one unlocks at the next Crisis tier and has to be researched before the next Tier is unlocked
To unlock the next tier, you need to earn “Menace”, through deadly acts such as destroying ships, purging pops, enslaving vassals, destroying planets and conducting subversive spy operations. I found the most effective way to earn Menace is to use a Colossus and destroy resource-devoid planets in my territory
Enough of this will allow you to build the Aetherophasic Engine, consuming stars to get Dark Matter to power it, and destroy the Galaxy.
Burn Notice
