Overview
Is this a guide? No. It’s the story of what happened to the Russian failed-to-launch Free-To-Play Halo game, Halo Online.
Introduction
So I’d hate to burst your bubble, but this is not a guide. It is the story of what happened to Halo Online.
Now, for those who may be wondering, What is Halo Online?
Halo Online was a Russian-made Free-To-Play Halo game that never saw the proper launch that it deserved. It is Multiplayer only, and uses a heavily modified Halo 3 engine. It contains things such as, but not limited to:
-Halo 4 Weapon Models.
-Modified Halo Reach sound effects.
-Assasinations.
-Attatchments for all Non-Power weapons.
-Brand new Halo-Themed Music.
-Sprinting.
-A wide variety of customisation options appearence wise. (Includes lights that flash on your Spartan).
How good did it look?
Now you may be thinking, Wow, this sounds amazing, what did it look like ingame?
Look no further, for here is the trailer for the game, realeased by IGN.
Go ahead and watch it if you have not already.
This game looks like a Halo Players dream come true, doesn’t it? It would have been a beautiful sight to behold; Halo Mutliplayer. On PC. On the Halo 3 engine. Things don’t get much better than that.
What happened?
Now, it’s time to explain How this gem of a game didn’t come to be.
The purpose of Halo Online made to introduce the Russians to the Halo Series. This was going to be followed by the realease of The Master Chief Collection…..on PC. That was the original plan that had been set by the creators of Halo Online and Microsoft: Let the Russians experience Halo for the first time by playing Halo Online, and if they were interested, play the Master Chief Collection when it came out.
But this plan never came to be. And it was caused by Microsoft.
The Master Chief Collection never ended up coming out for PC. Therefore causing them to have no idea what to do with Halo Online. So what did they do? Nothing. They did jack all. (No pun intended). The creators were waiting for Microsoft, and Microsoft did nothing.
So after 6 months of waiting…with no response…they decided to cancel Halo Online altogether.
Is it still possible to play Halo Online?
So, is it possible to Play Halo Online?
Well, yes and no.
Can you play the offical game?
No. It has been completly shut down, along with the Beta.
Can you play an unoffiical version?
Thankfully, yes you can!
There is a mod called ‘ElDewrito’, and it allows you play play a modded version of the game. It features most of the maps, and all of the weapons and gamemodes. But it being a mod, it has a few downsides:
-Some maps are broken, and can be exited by doing certain things, like grenade jumping, or simply flying out of the map as a Moniter in Forge Mode.
-There are a couple of Audio glitches (Mainly for High Rate-of-Fire weapons) Where sounds will randomly cancel out. The more players there are in a game, the more this glitch can occur.
-As far as I can tell, there are US servers, a couple of EU servers, and that’s it. Servers for AU and other small countries are extremely rare, meaning that if you like in places like Australia, then you will be playing with a contant 100+ ping.
Where can I see more of Halo Online?
I’ll have some links to some of the main things the game features. If you want to find something that isn’t here, then try searching it on the web.
ElDewrito_0.5.1.1: (The Unoffical Halo Online)
Please, give this mod some love. It doesn’t need a great PC to play, and is a very small download.
The Halo Online Soundtrack: (From what I can find, there are only 5 songs.)
Main Menu Music:
Other 4 songs:

I don’t care what others will think, but to me, this is some of the best, if not THE best Halo Music I have ever heard in my entire gaming career. And it takes a lot to impress me.
