Overview
This guide will help you to survive much longer on Survival Mode.I didn’t see any tips for Survival anywhere, so I decided to make a guide for it.From requirements to focusing in-game, this guide will show you everything you need to know about how to survive longer. This is my first guide so I hope it won’t be a waste of time for you. Please don’t forget to leave a rating(I take every vote seriously…)
Am I really a master at the game?
I really took my time to play this game…
I scored more than 6500 kills in Blind Survival mode, and it was very hard…
(I was too exited to capture the 6500 kills screenshot. Sh**! )
And I passed every single level on Levels Mode!
This should be evidence that I’m experienced.
Preparations for Survival Mode
You need to have 5 skill slots (you’ll have 3 at the beginning) and skills for more chance of survival.
Play the Levels Mode to get everything you need…
- On Levels Mode you need to:
- Complete Student and Master Difficulty (for Skill slots)
- Acquire skills listed below (OPTIONAL: Acquire all skills)
- HEAL – You will heal for 1 HP
- Useful when you’re away from Lightsword/Nunchaku Rounds
- Activates after 99 kills
- If you have full health the Heal skill won’t be spent until you get damaged
- DEFLECT GREY – Deflects 1 hit from any grey enemy
- Grey enemies are the most common enemies in the game and they are the biggest threat to you
- Activates after 85 kills
- DEFLECT COLOUR – Deflects 1 hit from any coloured enemy
- This is useful when you fight Brawlers
- Skill wont be used on grey enemies
- Activates after 70 kills.
The following skills listed below are sometimes useful but sometimes confusing during the battle unless you check the remaining kills of the certain skills!
- DEEP IMPACT – Wipes all enemies from your screen
- Very effective if you’re surrounded by 5+ enemies
- Activates after 37 kills
- GREY OUT – Force all enemies to turn grey for 10 seconds
- Useful to avoid coloured enemies
- Will cause more throwers
- Activates after 30 kills
- VENOM FIST – Causes coloured enemies to react slower when you hit them.
- Effective against multi-hit enemies
- Not effective against Brawlers
- Activates after 40 kills
- SLOW ENEMIES – Slows down enemies by 25% for 10 seconds
- Not very useful when you reach 1500 kills (it will confuse your timing)
- It won’t slow Brawlers’ speed when you’re fighting them
- Activates after 30 kills
- UNARMED MASTER – Increases your attack range
- Range is as if you were holding a weapon
- It will disable Catch — Catch is an ability that allows you to throw a thrower’s weapon after you grab it
- Completely useless skill if you acquire the Golden Sword (last hit)
- Activates after 26 kills
- BRAWL MASTER – Brawler’s fighting speed is decreased by 25%
- Useful when fighting on higher speeds
- Always active when you kill 1 enemy
- IRON FIST – Forces all enemies to back off in fear
- This skill will force all enemies to fall back to take your time!
- It will also slow down enemies after they pull back!
- Skill won’t be used when fighting with ranged weapons(Bow,dagger and bomb) or punching “Ball of Death”
- Activates after 32 kills
- LIGHT EM’ UP – Light up all enemies for 10 seconds
- Attacking range maxes out – you can reach anywhere, even off screen
- All the enemies will be lighted
- You can hit enemies out from your fighting range without missing (new range will appear on screen)
- Activates after 32 kills
Notice the range of your attacks now. That’s your new range when the Light em’ up skill is active!
All of these listed skills are recommended for survival. All the others are not very effective because they are either useless or bad for your timing.
Survival Gamemodes
This section is only for the beginners! You don’t have to read this if you have played all survival modes.
Survival Mode has 3 different gamemodes.
- Those are:
- Survival
- Blind Survival
- NO LUCA NO
This is a beginning gamemode, and it’s the same as a Survival Round in Levels Mode, except that you have special rounds that I’ll show you later!
This is what Survival Mode looks like.
This is a second survival gamemode that tests your skills; you cannot see the zones in-game or even coloured enemies’ hit-markers, so you MUST remember which coloured enemies you need to press in order to defeat them. Requires 500 kills in Survival Mode to unlock.
Compare this screenshot to the one above.
This survival is a reference to an Indie game called “No Luca No” (only available on Xbox 360)
The black cat named Luca will appear on your screen to prevent you from seeing from one side of the screen.
Simply just move your cursor in the direction where Luca is to move him away from the screen (if you use a gamepad, then push your left analog stick left or right to move Luca.)
Requires 500 kills in Blind Survival to unlock.
As you can see, Luca gets very annoying…
In Survival
As the game said at beginning:
Every Press Matters! DO NOT BUTTON MASH!
In Survival Mode you need good timing. Since you’ve started the round already, you’re just going to warm up.
But when you finish the first Lightsword Round in Survival then the real warm-up begins!
As you progress in-game you will see that the game speed will start to increase and the enemies will become faster!
Every Special Round (Lightsword/Nunchaku Round) requires approximately 150 kills to activate. If you got damaged, you can heal in the Special Round! Approximately every 25 kills, a white enemy will show up. When you kill him, he will give you 1 HP.
BE AWARE:Don’t get damaged too much while you’re approaching a Lightsword/Nunchaku Round, because if you stay on these rounds for too long then other Special Rounds will be faster than usual!
When you reach 2000 kills then you are READY for the real deal!
And remember…
Focus, Patience and Reflex
You need have a full focus in game!
Don’t let anything distract you!
Yes this may sound stupid, but it’s serious – don’t scratch yourself if you start itching, sneeze, etc. Seriously – let nothing distract you.
If you do, you might get defeated a lot easier.
The beginning might feel really slow, but don’t rush it. Let the enemies get in the zone, and don’t get impatient and try to attack them early, you’ll only end up missing and getting hurt.
But make sure you don’t let enemies rush you in the later phases. Patience is mostly for the beginning.
Check your surroundings quickly. Having good reflexes is also important for surviving.
When the enemies really speed up, then It’s “Think Fast!” time!
P.S. Use every special action(Power Dodge,Impailed, decapitations,Fury Mode etc.) to your advantage to look around the screen!
That’s pretty much it!
If you follow this guide, then your high scores might look something like this 🙂
I hope my guide gave you some tips to survive longer.
I’ll add more content when I have something new… maybe there are some useful things not listed here.
