Many games use American English within HOPs which can confuse UK English players. This guide will ‘convert’ words in US English to UK English.This guide will be updated when new words are found within HOPs.If you find any words that you wish me to add please contact me with the US word & its UK word equivalent.
US to UK.
Birdie = Shuttlecock.
Yarn = Wool.
Eggplant = Aubergine.
Ladybug = Ladybird.
Ribbon = Rosette.
Faucet = Tap.
Trash can = Dustbin or Rubbish bin.
Whirligig = Spinning top.
Purse = Handbag.
Pitcher = Water jug or Ewer.
Feather pen = Quill
Bandage = Plaster.
