Overview
In this guide i will provide in-depth knowledge on everything relevant regarding Master Mode Flashpoints. I want this guide to become a dependable resource for new players and veterans alike. To achieve that, I need your contributions, be it walkthroughs, details that you think I might have missed etc..
Requirements for listing MFPs
The requirement for being able to list in Master Flashpoints is that your character surpassed level 70, however, many people, especially veterans frown on players that list for MPFs below 75. Even if the game bolsters you down to level 70 for most flashpoints, your gear score and potential damage / heal output will be lacking, especially in more recent flashpoints.
While having top gear score of 306 is definitely recommendable, it is in no way required to finish most MFPs. Especially when you struggle at certain parts, gear can help you get that little extra damage or heal that you need. It should be noted that all DD classes require a precision of 110%, in order for attacks to land consistently. Another source of bonus stats are enhancements, but those are only feasible for min-maxing, quite expensive and anything but a necessity in content aside from nightmare operations.
Every flashpoint has an optimal route, unique ways to clear groups of enemies fast and many tricks to deal with bosses and their mechanics. For details, check out the Flashpoints tab.
Knowing your class and ideal rotations of abilities enables you to maximize damage output, heal and aggro generated. There are plenty of guides out in space to help you with your individual class.
SWTOR being a classical tab targeting MMO, every character can be categorized into one of 3 roles: Damage Dealer, Healer, Tank.
The game will automatically put together a team of 1 Tank, 1 Healer and 2 Damage Dealers, when listing for MFPs. The role identification is based on your chosen role before listing, in the same window and limited by your sub-classes role capabilities, meaning some classes feature an innate advantage of role diversity versus others. Example: Sith Juggernauts have access to DD and Tank specs, while snipers are limited to 3 DD specs. And while your Juggernaut has DD equip, you could list as a Tank, however, this only makes sense in the fewest of cases and should be avoided You will most certainly regret having saved that little time in the queue, for a broken team.
Especially when you’re new, or just forgot about the flashpoint you got in. There is no shame in telling the others that you need explanations for boss mechanics. Veterans will be grateful for informing them and MFPs are a team effort after all. Remember: explaining what to take care of costs less than repairing your equipment.
