Overview

At this guide I’ll show you how to downgrade the game to 1.0.4.0 and overhaul graphics + better graphics for Complete Edition

Launch Options

At your steam library, press RMB on GTA 4 and choose properties. On the General tab, paste these parameters to Launch Options:

-nomemrestrict -norestrictions -availablevidmem 6144 -percentvidmem 100 -noprecache -novblank -heapsize 2097152

Part 1 — Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition

Modding the CE

First, download this patch and extract everything from it to the main game folder.

DE Patch[www.definitive-edition-project.com]

*Go to the GTAIVplugins and open GTAIV.EFLC.FusionFix.ini
I recommend to you change 0 to 1 on the line SkipIntro

*If you want to change FPS Limit, do it at the same file on the FpsLimit line

Textures, NPC, Vegetation Overhaul

Extract pc folder to the main game folder from All-in-One Textures Overhaul

ENB for CE

Choose only one ENB preset from the “ENB for CE” folder. I’d recommend GTA 4 Beautification Project ENB 1.63

*For GTA 4 Beautification Project ENB 1.63 files from the “Wrapper version” folder extract to the main game folder. Then extract ENB files from the “G4BP_ENB_163_Complete_Edition” archive

*For G4BP Lighting Overhaul 1.2 files from the “G4BP_Lighting_Overhaul_Complete_Edition” archive extract to the main game folder

Sometimes after loading a game, some objects will have weird triangular lines. If that happens, open Graphical settings and make a change to eg. vsync, apply and change it back again. That’s it. It’s a known ENB error, and has nothing to do with the mod.

Part 2 — Grand Theft Auto IV: Downgrade to 1.0.4.0

There’s the main game only available

Downgrade the game to 1.0.4.0

First, install patch 1.0.4.0 from GTAIV_Patch_1.0.4.0 folder

Drop files from the NoDVD 1.0.4.0 archive to the main game folder

Files from the Xlive folder extract to the main game folder

Textures, NPC, Vegetation Overhaul

Extract pc folder to the main game folder from All-in-One Textures Overhaul

Vosswar’s Simple ENB

Extract all stuff from the Vosswar’s Simple ENB folder to the main game folder

ASI Loader

Extract dsound.dll to the main game folder

Simple trainer

Extract all stuff from the Simple Trainer folder to the main game folder

You don’t need it for cheating. The Simple trainer needs only for setting Cloudy weather

*If you have a TKL keyboard, use the config file for a trainer from the “for TKL keyboards” folder

The Recoil patch

Extract shotstuff.asi to the main game folder

The original game doesn’t have any recoil. Consoles’ version of the game already has recoil. This patch fixes it for the masterpiece version

Some fixes before the playing

Drop files “fonts.dat” and “fonts_r.dat” to this path: “Grand Theft Auto IVcommondata” and agree overwrite. commandline.txt to the main game folder

*If you have errors while launching the game, install VCR Hyb from the Fixes folder

*If you have a loading error and automatically starting a new game, manually load your save after the first cutscene

Launching the game

For launching the game, you must use LaunchGTAIV.exe in the main game folder. For an easier way to launch it, you can add it as a non-steam game

В CE русский язык можно выбрать прямо в самом стиме, а для даунгрейднутой версии в папке for 1.0.4.0 лежит отдельный русификатор, для которого обязательно нужно будет установить фиксы описанные ранее!
