Overview
So this is a guide to teach you how to port mods from garry’s mod to source film maker, if the mod you ported becomes updated just do this guide again, so I hope this is a relatively easy way of getting mods to SFM without having the ask the creator of the original creator of the mod or uploading it without their permission.
Before going on with the rest of the guide
Before you go on with the rest of the tutorial make a folder to put all the stuff for this tutorial in, then download 7-zip [www.7-zip.org] and GWtool [drive.google.com] and put them in the folder, install 7-zip and use it to extract the GWtool, then resume with the tutorial, without these tools you cannot do the following steps
Step 1: Getting the mod URL
We’ll be using my red panda mod as an example mod.
Step 2: Downloading the mod’s files
Here’s the website I mentioned I’d link [link]
((Update: Had to replace the website link since the old website no longer works, but this new one does essentially the same thing only the .gma comes in a zip file.))
Step 3: Extracting the mod’s files
Step 4: Copying the mod’s files
Step 5: Putting the mod’s files into SFM
If you don’t know how to get to your SFM files, go to your file explorer, then go into “this pc”, then go into your computer’s main drive, then go into program files (x86), then the rest is in the directory of the image.
Step 6: Enjoying using the model in SFM.
WARNING!!! If you do port a model to SFM, do NOT upload it to the workshop without the original creator’s permission, that’s called stealing.
