Tannenberg Guide

Romania and KUK, the twins for Tannenberg

Romania and KUK, the twins

Overview

To catalogue the uniform differences between the Romanian squad and KUK, so that you just might be able to spot them better.I hope this guide will help you with distinguishing the new troops between the old.

The Subofiter and Tizedes

Both very similar in look. Upon closer examination, the Romanian has arrow tabs on his collars and has shoulder boards. The KUK troop on the other hand, has square collar tabs and no shoulder boards. As for the most noticeable details, the Romanian has a leather strap across his chest here, and this feature is unique to the Romanian unit. The rest of the KUK troops have straps crossing the centre of their chests of different widths, and most are made of leather. Also take note of the darker boots on the Romanian, and the lighter on the KUK troop. This KUK troop rank has a binocular holder in the centre of his chest. This can be a helpful distinction. Also notice how the KUK troop’s cap is more plain than the Romanians.

The Puscas and the Honved

Now, the minute details here still include the arrow tabs on the collar of the Romanian, but red, and still the same square on the collar KUK troop. The Kuk troop has more noticeable breast pockets and a large brass looking buckle. For the larger details, the Romanian has high and noticeable putties that the KUK troop lacks. The Romanian has black leather pouches and straps, and a single burlap strap across the chest. The KUK troop has brown leather straps and pouches with what seem to be two darker burlap straps crossing the chest.

The Vanator and Iranyzo

And here we have pretty much the same accoutrements as the last rank for the both of the units. KUK troop has double straps, Romanian has the single burlap strap and high putties.

The Grenadier and Granatos

This image here also appears to be the same, but one thing different catches my eye this time that I previously forgot to mention. The gear on the back. The Romanian has a light colored blanket strapped to the top of his bag, and the KUK troop has a can attached to the top of his.
