Overview

A simple guide about how to get your copy of DOOM 3 running at 1080p in a borderless window. If you do a lot of Alt-Tabbing and don’t want it to affect your game then this is the guide for you. To get the game running in a borderless window properly you’re going to need a third party application called Borderless Gaming. It’s a beneficial tool that eliminates time-consuming alt-tabs and the uncertainty of your game crashing. While you can get the application for free on GitHub, feel free to help out the developer if you want to by purchasing it on Steam:https://store.steampowered.com/app/388080/Borderless_Gaming/Here’s a guide that I found that helped me get the game running at 1080p, all credits for the resolution fix part of this guide goes to the YouTuber who created this guide:https://youtu.be/vL1gSzGAiVk

Setup

After you’ve got Borderless Gaming installed to your computer go ahead and launch DOOM 3. Once the game’s up and running make sure you have the game running in a window and then input the code into the console that makes the game run at 1080p first before you configure Borderless Gaming.

Inputting the code that’ll get the game running at 1080p.

Input r_customwidth 1920
Then input r_customheight 1080
Then input r_mode -1
And finally input vid_restart

Note: You’ll have to input this code into the game’s console each time you launch it. So make sure you write it down somewhere.

After pressing enter the game should blackout and reconfigure itself to run in 1080p.

Setting Up Borderless Gaming

After you’ve got the game running in a window at 1080p load up Borderless Gaming. Once you’re in the menu of Borderless Gaming click on DOOM 3.

After you’ve selected DOOM 3 press the right triangle to move it to your favorites. After you do that, the game should automatically adjust and fit your screen. But if it doesn’t, simply click the fullscreen button.

Once you’ve got the game running in a borderless window simply minimize Borderless Gaming.
