Overview
A quick guide for the config file to setup triple monitors in ATS
Please Note :
MOST IMPORTANT PART, COPY THE CONFIG FILE TO YOUR DESKTOP!!! That way, if game breaks on you after you alter something, you have the original config.
The only annoying part of trying different settings, is, the loading. Each time you want to make a change, you have to exit the game, then make the change, save it, then reload the game and try it.
This config can also be done for ETS2 in exactly the same way.
I have also uploaded a similar guide like this for ETS2.
If you want near perfect screenshots, then keep reading.
If you prefer perfect looking ingame graphics while playing, then this may not be the guide for you. BUT, it may still help you.
For me, i found the ingame bezel correction actually ruined screenshots. So i done away with the ingame bezel correction in favour of screenshots. But, again, i found that having no bezel correction wasnt that bad and barely noticeable anyway.
If i have gained your interest and you want to know more, read the rest of this guide and try it out for yourself.
You only need about 1 minute to change the config file once. 🙂
This took me a few hours as i had to read about everything first, which i suggest you do the same thing because for me, it wasnt just plug in monitors, and game loads in 3 monitors. The config file is the biggest key to it working right.
But, i had other issues as well. When i loaded the game, the game wasnt loading correctly, it would only load half a screen and i couldnt move the mouse or anything. I eventually had to disable nvidia surround, load game in open gl to change settings, exit game, enable nvidia surround, load game in DX, and kept doing that til it finally worked for me. It doesnt help that the ingame graphics settings crash the game, which is why i had to use open gl.
But it kept doing the same thing over til it eventually just loaded up fine.
Before (Ingame screenshot with original settings from iMaggot)
With the first image, this was taken using the original settings that iMaggot use. It looks good in game, but as you can see, the image looks like its been cut in 2 places and joined together again.
1st cut is over the left mirror, and 2nd cut is about center of dash.
Also, to see the instrument panel, you have to look down a fair bit.
So, that was when i started messing around with the settings and trying to tweak it so it looked better, not just in screenshots, but ingame as well.
After (Ingame screenshots of settings i currently use)
With this shot, you can see the bottom portion of the visor, and can clearly see the instrument panel. I am still looking down a bit in game. But the game is like that by default on single monitors anyway. But at least you can see the panel and see ahead clearly which is the main thing i was going for along with good screenshots.
Which brings me to this, you can also clearly see the picture hasnt been cut and put together again. All the buttons on the dash are fine, the left mirror is fine, except for the very bottom. Where it sort of goes to a point. If you look at the right mirror you will see its flat at the bottom. Thats how the left mirror is supposed to look. And it is flat, but when you look down at your intruments, you will get that bit warpage from the left and right monitor cameras turning as you turn your head.
With mode 2, which i use, there are 3 cameras. 1 for each monitor. If you try mode one, when you turn your head, its like you are right next to an object, it becomes that close to you. When it shouldnt be. Thats why i opted for mode 2. It is the most natural looking mode and can be adjust more so than 1.
The main points to this, is you can see clearly ahead, you are not sitting with your face planted to the windshield, you can see the dash cluster, the screenshots look fine and not cut and chopped, still looks good ingame, and nothing looks squashed down or pancaked 🙂
Settings & Info

Just a quick guide for the config file to setup triple monitors in ATS, that you can find in drive “C” > Users > User Name > Documents > American Truck Simulator. Then just scroll down til you see config.cfg (if you have the file type name showing) or config (if you dont).
Open it with notepad.
A little note about my settings i went with, for this line that iMAGGOT used (from in the thread), ” uset r_multimon_rotation_right “-0.5” “, for me, i found that setting actually wrecked screenshots as it rotates the camera up or down depending on the setting you use. So i left it at ” 0 ” and it still looks perfectly fine ingame. But now doesnt wreck screenshots.
For this line, by same gamer, ” uset r_segment_buffer_size “128” “, my games dont have it, so i didnt worry about it.
For these 2 lines by same gamer ” uset r_multimon_border_fov_right “3” &
” uset r_multimon_border_fov_left “3”, i left the “3” at 0, for same reasons as above, it wrecks screenshots. Those 2 lines are for the ingame bezel corretion because game doesnt recognize nvdias bezel correction. And if it does, some people have issues with it.
When taking screenshots with those 3 lines, for the borders, you will see where the gap is, but instead of a gap, it cuts a segment out where the monitors would meet and then joins them together. With the rotation, it’s kinda the same thing with borders, but in the up down rotation of camera. So, thats my reasoning behind my settings, now to show you 🙂
The games still look great with these settings i think.
They dont look too squashed or anything and you can see the dash cluster while driving(which is the main point to these settings), but you can still see the road, and tiny bit of the visor.
For ETS 2 :
uset g_interior_camera_zero_pitch “1”
uset r_multimon_exterior_in_aux “0”
uset r_multimon_interior_in_main “1”
uset r_multimon_rotation_aux “0”
uset r_multimon_rotation_right “0”
uset r_multimon_rotation_left “0”
uset r_multimon_rotation_center “0”
uset r_multimon_vert_offset_right “0”
uset r_multimon_vert_offset_left “0”
uset r_multimon_border_fov_right “0”
uset r_multimon_border_fov_left “0”
uset r_multimon_fov_vertical “40”
uset r_multimon_fov_horizontal “70”
uset r_multimon_mode “2”
For ATS, i added an extra 5 to the vertical FOV because it was sitting too close to the wheel and cutting half the dash out and couldnt see instruments. You could also goto 50 if you feel you need too. I tried it, and it just makes it look like you are sitting a bit further back with almost the entire steering wheel in view while driving. Up to you 🙂
For ATS :
uset g_interior_camera_zero_pitch “1”
uset r_multimon_exterior_in_aux “0”
uset r_multimon_interior_in_main “1”
uset r_multimon_rotation_aux “0”
uset r_multimon_rotation_right “0”
uset r_multimon_rotation_left “0”
uset r_multimon_rotation_center “0”
uset r_multimon_vert_offset_right “0”
uset r_multimon_vert_offset_left “0”
uset r_multimon_border_fov_right “0”
uset r_multimon_border_fov_left “0”
uset r_multimon_fov_vertical “45”
uset r_multimon_fov_horizontal “70”
Hope this helps 🙂
