Overview
This is a step by step building guide to my (currently) tier 9 plasma bomber. I’m using this to get into tier 10. First guide so if you have any tips let me know in the comments.last update 21/01/2015 fixed some of the maneuverability but it’s not really entirally back but it’s to an acceptible point…
introduction
Hi,
Today I’ll be showing you how I created my tier 9 plasma bomber. Its quite a tanky build but it still uses a lot of shields so you’ll need quite a lot of cpu. If you rushed through the tiers you probably won’t be able to build it exactly like I did. I’m currently at level 62 and i maxed out my flops. I didn’t use the triforce technique but it still has a pretty high survival rate if you play it right.
Requirements
So on to the requirements.
at least 1094 pFLOPs
33 prisms (red)
151 cubes (mixture of red and purple)
4 T8 rudders
1 T6 rudder
1 T10 thruster
4 T9 thrusters
4 T8 thrusters
3 T9 plasma cannons
2 T10 plasma cannons
1 L T6 electroplate
1 R T6 electroplate
4 L T7 electroplate
4 R T7 electroplate
1 T8 electroplate (I used a left one but it doesn’t matter)
I didn’t use any radar jammers or flippers or whatever but feel free to add them if you have the cpu and really want them.
If you want to build it from scratch it’ll cost you 1,782,398rp
Construction
With the formalities out of the way we can finally get to the fun part (YAY): constructing this bad boy.
So first you want to build this: a 15/3 slab of blocks (i used orange because i have more of them) with that t shaped piece cut out in the front and the 2 extra blocks on the side
underneath of that first section you build this: a 14/3 slab of blocks leaving the last blocks uncovered.
Then you make the supports of the side guns: (3 and 8 wide, both sides, starting at the 7th block from the front)
Then an attempt to shield the support block from sidaways fire: (both sides, 1 cube and 5 prisms)
Then make some protection for under the shields: (21 cubes 16 prisms)
Put in the lower supports: (21 cubes, 7prisms)
Thats it for the body now on to the shields: (4 L T7 and 4 R T7 electroplates)
More shields: (1 R T6 and 1 L T6 electroplate) (topside)
Now the boring part: the seat…
T10 guns go here: (put the middle one facing to the side or else it wont fit)
T9 guns go on the other supports:
T8 shield: (has saved my ass a lot)
T8 rudders go here: (shield removed so you can see where they go)
T6 rudder goes here:
T10 thruster:
T9 thrusters: (x4)
T8 thrusters: (2 on wings)
T8 thrusters: (2 on the front for easier lift off)
Conclusion
So there you have it.
Its not the fastest on the block but it can take a beating before it is forced to give up.
I chose to only put 5 guns on it for easier balancing and also a shorter reload time so it hurts a little less if you miss your target.
in this configuration when stable it flies a little bit nose up which i like much better than nose down but if you want to make it fly perfectly level you’ll have to rearrange a bit of the components. As you can see when you build it the shields cover almost the entire bottom so you have some wiggle-room to shove things around a bit.
The slields make for excellent protection against plasmas and also quite good against smg’s but like any other aircraft, a well placed rail shot cripples you pretty bad, even though it has a pretty wide basis for the wings 3 blocks. I have been oneshotted in this but not often and only with a tier 10 railgun and mostly red blocks in the craft.
So that concludes my guide on the tier 9 plasma bomber I made. English is not my native language so i hope i dont get too much grammar/spelling nazi’s but if I made a mistake tell me in the comments and I’ll change it.
If you think of any improvement or just think it completely sucks please let me know so i can keep working on it.
Please do not try this out with white blocks because other blocks are much heavier which have a drastic effect on the handling of the aircraft.
Also if you happen to know a good name for this here bomber let me know I suck at naming things 🙂
