(OUTDATED) Beginners Guide to Battle Arena

Overview

This is a guide for the Beginner in Battle Arena. This guide will explain Strategies to help improve your game and an introduction to the Respawn System!

Introduction

Well hello! I’m Nepo or better known as my In-Game Alias, ‘RubberDucky97’. I’m a 2 Year Robocraft Veteran, I’ve been a part of every new update that has hit Robocraft and has achieved the milestone of acquiring the Max Cap of RP (999 Million RP). I’ve spent roughly $3200+ on Robocraft and don’t intend to stop soon, I’ll be your guide (heh) for this lengthy page of text today so sit back, Grab some popcorn and enjoy reading!

Please remember, This guide is aimed at the Beginner player; Someone who has never played Battle Arena in their life and wants to know the basics.

Battle Arena Information

So, You are looking into playing Battle Arena but aren’t certain of what lies ahead well have no fear, I am here to help any Beginners at getting into the Gamemode.

One thing to note is that Battle Arena is unlike Team Deathmatch, The Pit or Single Player; It features a Respawn feature that allows you to get back into the action upon your fatal demise. It also features something called “Overclocking” where your bot will gain more Offensive and Defensive capability depending on the Overclocking Level you are at.

Start of Match Guide

Level 1 is when you are at your slowest, It’s the level you are spawned at upon the start of a new Battle Arena Match and increases depending on your actions.

The absolute best way to start is by moving towards your closest Neutral Tower (All 3 on a map are Neutral by default) and destroying Crystals. Each time a Crystal is destroyed you will gain 20 Experience, Upon reaching a certain amount or upon the Towers Destruction you will Level up depending on how much damage you did to said Tower.

Fusion Towers

Fusion Towers are a tall structure that aids a team in Battle. At the start of a match they start in a Purple (Neutral) State and change once all crystals on a Tower are Destroyed to the color of which team destroyed it which would be Blue (Allied) or Red. (Enemy)
Each tower gives its controlling team a damage boost towards the Enemy Reactor and upon control of all 3 Grant a larger damage boost towards crystals connected to a team’s Reactor.

Destroying a Tower is as simple as shooting the Crystals attached to the Connection Points. Once all Cubes visibly attached to both of a Tower’s Connection Points are destroyed the tower is claimed for that team.

Connection Points:

Neutral Tower:

Fusion Reactor

A Fusion Reactor is also a Structure in Battle Arena. The Fusion Reactor will determine who Wins and who Loses that game. Once a team’s Reactor is destroyed then that team will Lose the game.

The same concept for destroying a Tower’s Crystals applies to the Fusion Reactor. The Cube amount on a Reactor is significantly increased and instead of 2 connection Points teams need to destroy all cubes connected to 8 Points.

Fusion Reactors receive damage resistances depending on how many Towers it’s team has captured and damage vulnerability depending on how many Towers the enemy has captured.

An allied Fusion Reactor:

Overclocking

Overclocking is a Feature in which any action you make will produce Experience which will allow you to ‘Level Up’ and gain Stat Increases for all Weaponry, Shielding and Movement Cubes attached to your bot. Overclocking stats are permanent until the game is completed.
Overclocking also increases your Fire Rate of Weaponry and Speed of Movement.

The Overclocking Meter

The Meter’s Location on your HUD

The Levels cap is currently at Level 15.

Respawning

Respawning is a core feature in Battle Arena in which upon taking fatal damage a user will re-appear at their base after a set time allowing them to continue on with the match.

Respawning time increases depending on Towers Captured, Elapsed Game Time and Overclock Level from a minimum of 1 Second up to 120 Seconds.

While waiting to respawn if an Ally captures a Tower your waiting time is set to 0 allowing you to respawn instantly.

When you die your camera is centered on your killer (If he is still alive) then snaps to an ally after a short wait. Pressing Left Click or Right Click will change your camera between alive Teammates.

When the timer expires you can click any button to respawn instantly.

Fusion Shield

Your Fusion Shield is a vital addition to Battle Arena. It allows your allies to shoot through but not your enemies. Entering an Allied Fusion Shield while injured will slowly repair your bot. Your shield prevents attacks aimed at your Reactor from attackers outside of the shield.

While in an enemy Fusion Shield you can not shoot out of it and can not shoot into it while outside of it.

Protonivity

Protonivity determines how much damage your attacks will deal against Neutral or Enemy Towers and Reactors.

Each weapon has a set Protonivity rate which will alter the Percent of damage it will do to Towers and Reactors.

All weapons have Protonivity Rates but the Proto Seeker, Aeroflak Cannon and Lock-On Missile Launcher have unknown rates.

Subatomic Machine Gun (Laser): 100% Damage
Plasma Launcher (Plasma): 175% Damage
Long-Range Rail Cannon (Rail): 280% Damage
Nanotech Disruptor (Nano): 0% Damage [Cannot deal Damage to Crystals]
Tesla Blade (Tesla): 10% Damage

These values are multiples of the weapon’s damage so a maximum ranking Rail Cannon will deal +180% of its Damage Value against Crystals.
Nanos were previously able to damage Crystals but with the recent update they can no longer deal any damage to Cubes or Crystals.

League Arena

League Arena is a gamemode that is a carbon copy of Battle Arena but with the addition of a Ranking system.
Upon winning a match and placing in the top 8 Positions (50%) you will gain a Star. Stars can be lost upon losing and placing in the bottom 8 Positions on the Final Leaderboard. No star is gained or lost when placing in the bottom 50% upon winning and the top 50% upon losing.

When you gain 5 Stars in a Rank you are eligable to ‘League Up’ which will earn you a snazzy Cosmetic Badge to place on your bot, A New chat Color and Tag and bragging rights!

The ranks are as followed (Including the Cosmetic):
Bronze

Silver

Gold

Diamond

Protonium

Protonium 5
