Overview
This guide will provide some tips on how to make stable and effective hovercraft in Robocraft.
Building
Okay, so first of all, stability. You dont wanna be flipping upside down in the middle of a firefight because you’ll be an easy picking. I recommend 4 or more hoverblades placed at the highest you can on your ship. I tend to build my ships in such a way to have the blades be at the highest point and all the weight on the bottom. Another way to make things stable is to move the blades away from the center of mass. The larger the area, the harder it is to flip.
It’s like a helicopter; Helicopters dont put their blades on the bottom because they’d just flip upside down. The blades are PULLING you, not PUSHING you.
Seat placement is an odd one. You really just want your seat in the most armoured area you can, especially the block your seat is on. If you lose that block, you lose your ship.
Guns would be ideal to have on the bottom of your ship as they should be aiming down at enemies since you’ll be flying above most of them.
For SMGs, I reccomend about 6-8 as they dont have a limit unlike other guns but they start to become inneficient with speed at about 8 SMGs.
For Plasmas, Rails and Nano-Disruptors, the limit is 6. You can place more, but they wont fire.
Nano-Disruptors should be placed in areas with 360 turning so you can take complete advantage of the right-click auto aim function.
Combat
In combat, your strategy depends on what kind of person you are and what gun you use. Usually, these two correlate. If you’re more of an assault person, you may like the SMGs. They are some of the smallest guns and have a fast fire rate with good accuracy, very good for fast light aircraft. If you’re a tank person, you may like plasma, so you can deal a lot of damage and take a lot of damage. Strategies are pretty much like most other transport methods really.
If you are using SMGs, then I recommend basing your build around speed and light armour. Once you have a comfortable build, a good fighting strategy is to stick with your group and fight at the front line. I dont know how I can stress this further, but PROTECT YOUR MEDICS. Without them, a simple plasma shot could cripple you and render you good for nothing except something to distract the enemy while your friends shoot. Get on the front line, and push, making sure those medics are safe.
If you are using Plasmas, Then you should be focusing on having a hell of a lot of armour and still having a decent speed. You want to be able to tank out that large reload time and soak some shots while the SMGs deal some damage. A good idea is to use electroplates, they soak up a lot of damage and covering your ship in some high-tier electroplates is not necessary but it’s an option that could work. For combat, you will want to be staying with the group, with the SMGs. Ideally, you want a beefy tank that looks menacing so people focus on you rather than the light little SMGs just running around. You’ll be the medic’s main patient and should soak up as much damage as you can. Try to save your shots until you find a good weak point to hit an enemy. Aim for enemy medics and try to hit them hard.
If you are using Rails, you’re a bit disadvantaged since you’ll be constantly floating and it will be hard to get a pinpoint shot at someone. You’ll most likely be taken out before you can. I’d recommend a better mode of transport that could help you get to better vantage points, such as walker legs.
Medics! Yes, sorry for keeping you lot last but you’ll be happy to know that I am one of you and I have a few tips of my own that I would like to share:
– Always try to hide. Your team need you more healing than fighting and if you die they can’t push without getting massacred.
– Stick with the group. A lone medic is a dead medic.
– Try to stick with at least 1 other medic. This way you two can heal each other if one of you gets hit.
– RIGHT CLICK IS GLORIOUS. Use it a lot as it auto-targets nearby people and sometimes even splits your Nano-Disrutors accross multiple ships.
– Assess before you heal. If you see he can take a few shots left or he is beyond saving in time, dont bother helping. Go heal someone who might be of some help.
– Dont go far. If someone is stuck at the other end of the map, dont run to heal them. Even if they scream “MEDIC” it’s more worth pushing with the team. Your radars dont reach that far so there’s always the chance of enemies and like I said, a lone medic is a dead medic.

Thank you all for reading this guide. If you have any building tips or combat tips to add, please let me know. Also, if you think I am wrong at some points, let me know aswell and give a reason why. I hope this guide helped some of you newbies or even some experienced players just starting with hoverblades.
