How to build boats and hydroplanes (UPDATED 17/11/15)

Overview

this will cover everything you will need to know about building and flying your boat arround the globe at high speeds.

what you will need.

For this guide you will no longer need lots of radial intakes.

just a fusalage with a crash tolerande greater than about 5m/s.

building your hydroplane/boat

to build a hydroplane/boat simply build a boat shape, keeping in mind you will have to keep it stable by either adding lots of sas reaction wheels , rcs thrusters or by adding side floats. if your boat continues to sink there are two reasons:
1. your modded part has no bouyancy
2. your craft is too heavy
to solve these problems you can either use different parts or add some radial mount intakes.

when building your boat keep in mind that parts can break if your boat is not sitting on the water corectly due to the game thinking it just crashed.

a mod i would reccomend is OPT because the “K” or “J” fusalage is perfect for building large boats with a low impact on your pc.

note:
If your pc or laptop is not very powerfull I do not advise attemping to build a boat as they can be very cpu intensive.

testing

when testing you must transport it into the water slowly making sure nothing is damaged, I do this by using the largest wheels but you can use whatever methd you find works best.

once in the water max out your throttle and keep in mind turning can be hard if you do not have a very powerfull sas system. you also need to make sure that when you are speeding along to watch the front of your craft to check for sinking/rising of the bow, if it sinks too low it will cause it to break as it willsubmerge and then be launched out of the water, if it does rise lower your speed as this could lead to your boat doing a backflip and blowing up unless it remains at the same angle and does not cause damage to the boat.

Hey here is my guide on how to make subs, check it out: [link]
