Overview
This guide is dedicated to the simpletons who don’t care for complex math problems or for stupid angles, they just want to land on stuff. In this guide i will show you how to easily get to the Mun, how to get back to Kerbin, a little launch land repeat if you will.
From Kerbin’s Orbit to the Mun’s
After launching a rocket and having it in orbit, warp to your Apoapsis (the highest point in your orbit or the thing marked Ap in your map screen) and burn Prograde until your Periapsis reaches 11,400,000 meters which should make your orbit exact to the Mun’s. Now heres the tricky part but this is what makes this way more simple then anything else. Warp while in orbit until you have an encounter with the Mun but stop immediatly once you get one. If you get lucky, sometimes you wont have to do anything else because your encounter will bring your encounter on the surface of the Mun. But that’s just luck. So if you followed those steps and have an encounter with the Mun, then this should be easy. Once you get to the point where instead of seeing gold and purple lines near the Mun and you just see one blue line with the Pe symbol on it. Now warp very carfully until you come within about 1-2 mins of that symbol (if you hover your mouse over the Pe symbol it’ll show you the countdown time you have left before you can do this step safely). Once within that time range burn Prograde (the lime green symbol that has an x through it) until you have an orbit around the Mun. If you did all theses steps like told then you’ll have an orbit Congrats :DD!!
Landing and Celebrating!
Now that you have an orbit around the Mun, it’s time to land! So, all you need to do is burn prograde until your orbit in thee map touches the surface (an easier way to tell if its’s touching the surface is if there is only one orbit symbol in the map). Once touching the surface burn very softly Prograde until the Prograde symbol is at the very top of the blue side of your ball that is in bottom middle of your screen. If it is at the top of it then you should be falling straight down, once below 10,000 meters keep a controlled speed of 10-20 m/s. Then once your below 2,000 keep it between 7-12. Once you touchdown, fell free to do a little dance ;DD.
