How to not be horrible at the Da Ji Anime adventure

Overview

So, somehow you have been stuck under a rock for the past few months and don’t know what the hell you’re doing in the Da Ji “Anime” adventure. Well, you’ve come to the right place. This guide will go over the different roles people play, what gods you should be playing (and why), and some generic use of items.

Roles

Roles
Before we even start saying which gods are good and which aren’t, I have to go over roles. These roles aren’t set in stone, but for the most part came with good results.

  • Assassins
Assassins’ job are to find and kill elites as fast as possible. Because of how the money system works in this, assassins typically get considerably less gold than any other role, since they aren’t really concerned about killing a bunch of minions heading towards the pillars.
  • Mages
Mages are just to defend the pillars from tiny minions. You only stray from the tower to get mana/health from the potions.
  • Hunters
Hunters can switch between hunting down elites with the assassin, and defending the pillar as they see fit. There are some exceptions to this rule however (which I’ll explain later).
  • Warriors
Warriors also can switch between going for elites and defending the pillar. They typically tank the sweeper and make sure that he doesnt ground pound your teammates to death. If you wish, you could have an assassinless team as long as you have a warrior.
  • Guardians
Guardians are the same as mages, but tanks sweepers, and tries to tank the final wave. You typically don’t want a guardian because they aren’t good here, but if you chose to do so, power to you.

Gods

Gods
In smite, you play as gods, some are just garbage , and some are so overpowered that even hirez themselves fear them. Here is a complex list of what gods are good. If a god isn’t under any of these sections, it means they are just decent, nothing more, nothing less.

    Broken Gods

  • Arachne
Shreds Elites as if they were paper, also gains a ton of gold for an assassin due to her web
  • Ah Muzen Cab
AMC is rediculously good with handling the tiny minions, as well as the elites. However, usually what happens is AMC sticks to the pillars like a gluestick to defend, while the other 2 chase elites. AMC rarely chases elites, as there are better gods to do so. Also, if you are going AMC, put your hives near trees, or ends of buildings facing the pillars. Elites or minions rarely hit the hives in those places, when they do, it’s because a lobber’s fire reached a little too far.
  • Skadi
Skadi’s dog just chases little minions without taking damage (from the little minions), and her ice can take care of a single chokepoint, which allows your team to focus on other spawns.
  • Anubis
Anubis just has amazing wave clear, and when the last enemy is an elite, he just shreds.
  • Loki
Loki’s decoy can hold a chokepoint, and can make minions steer away from the pillar. He also shreds elites, though not as well as arachne.
  • Cu Chulainn
Cu Chulainn’s 2 lets you just walk around killing tiny minions, you don’t have to do much. He also tanks the ♥♥♥♥ out of the later rounds in his rage mode.

    Gods worth mentioning

  • Agni
Agni’s fumes (the ground circle thingy) can hold a chokepoint, since it deals damage, but doesn’t last forever, so you have to keep placing it down.
  • Bakasura
Baka shreds elites, and is fun to play, however he has mana issues and requires the potions more often. Usually ends up with an extremely small amount of gold due to his nature.
  • Erlang Shen
Erlang can completely replace the assassin role of the team if you build him attack speed. He is a blast to play.
  • Fenrir
Fenrir’s ult works on elites, you could bring a lobber to the team to kill him faster.
  • Jing Wei
Jing’s passive triggers every time you leave the shop, which makes rotating to the next pillar a lot faster, which gives you time to mess around.
  • Ne Zha
Ne Zha’s ring is completely broken, often hitting all 20 stacks in 1 toss. His ult also works on elites, so you can finesse your teammates.
  • Neith
Neith’s ult also works on elites, which again, can allow you to finesse your teammates who are putting in all of the work.
  • Nu Wa
Personally, I dislike Nu Wa in this gamemode, her ult doesn’t hit elites. However, she does do work. Her minions go around attacking the little dudes like crazy, and her invis ability can lock down a chokepoint.
  • Thanatos
Thanatos is a solid pick, seeing as his kit has stun and self heal. However he is weak against sweepers since you can’t get as many abilities in, so you need more support for those than usual.

    Gods you should never play

  • Ao Kuang
I love Ao Kuang, however his ult doesn’t work on elites, rendering him severely useless
  • Hou Yi
Rarely has the chance to hit richochets due to the open nature of the map.
  • Kali
Kali’s passive doesn’t work with elites, so she can’t suicide to get heals.
  • Kukulkan
Kuku’s waveclear isn’t as great as it is in ACTUAL gamemodes, since you have minions coming at a fast rate from everywhere, and the cooldown on that waveclear makes it inconsistant. However he is probably the most playable character from these garbage tier gods due to his ult.
  • Nox
Not enough waveclear, and it’s not mages’ job to chase elites.
  • Scylla
Scylla is a good god, seeing as how she has tons of waveclear, however she is way too squishy to defend the pillar by herself. Unless you manage to get a Warlocks Staff after the first round, there’s not much hope.

Items

Items
This section I don’t think is as helpful, since items in this adventure are RNG based. But this is just general strategy.

  • If you want items requiring stacks, get them as early as possible.
This is kinda obvious, seeing as how the earlier you get them, the sooner they will be completed. However, I’ve seen people buy items that need stacks on the final wave. You can still get them on the 2nd to last wave, since that round has a ton of minions, but not on the final one.
  • Assassins buy Frostbound as soon as they see it
Frostbound Hammer helps a ton early on to chase and catch up to lobbers, and trappers. It makes killing them easy. Arachne doesn’t need this as much since she has a stun, but it still helps.
  • Talaria Boots
In this adventure, talaria boots are actually decent. It helps with roles that go in between chasing and defending, since you can get where you need to go a whole lot faster. I grab this for every warrior (except attack speed erlang), and most assassins.
  • Don’t buy rage if you are the only one defending the pillar
It is hard to assist in elite deaths and defend the pillar at the same time (exception being neith). I see this reletively often, and our pillar takes a fourth of its health because of it.

End

I hope this guide helped or was atleast amusing, because I’m tired of bad teammates.
