Modding basics for tabletop simulator

Overview

Modding for tabletop simulator is really easy.

Modding Decks and cards

Decks are really easy actually.
In the tabletop simulator folder, there’s a folder called “modding” click on that. Then you’ll see deck templates. You may then pick one of them and edit them with a picture editor software. I use GIMP for this purpose.
Or if you can’t find it. Here’s how to find it.
OR if you want to you could use a deck builder. But that’s up to you.
You need several images for the front (depends how much types of cards you want) and one image for the back (or if you’re using a unique back)

Cards are also the same thing. Just get one image for the front and back.

Modding Dices

Dices are the backbone of your game (sometimes)
Here’s how to find the templates

Edit them with a picture editing software. Of course you know what i’ll use for that purpose.

Modding boards

Boards are easy.
However, there’s no template for this one.
Just make a image simple.

Adding images to your game.

Now, those images aren’t going to come to life in your game. You need to put them onto a image web host. Imgur is a great sample it never gave me problems. Just publish your image on imgur (privately i would do) right click it. Click “copy image URL” now, let’s put them into the game. But how? Go to the chest.
Then click what type you want.
Board:
Deck:
Dice:

Model and figurine is still unknown to me.

Making them into a workshop item.

Now you’ve made your game.
“But, how do i show it to the world?” You may ask.
It’s simple.
Go to the menu or press Esc.
Press workshop upload.
Follow the steps there.
“URL for square thumbnail image” needs an image uploaded to an image web host also.
“Update existing mod” is something to use if you made changes to your game. The game will tell you how.

Tips and tricks

You can use the in-game notepad (public) to state the rules of your game and it saves!
Take time with your mod! It isn’t end of the world yet.
Doesn’t matter if you’re artistic or not. Anyone can make a mod!
Describe your game on the workshop page.
Test it out with some friends if you want to see what needs fixing before publishing.
And remember, have fun and be crative! (i don’t know if i spelt that right.)
Dice type influances the shape of the dice.
