Overview
This guide tells you everything you need to know about Awesomenauts…
I like to be awesome (Awesomenauts)
Okay, you just downloaded Awesomenauts for free and want to start being awesome…
Maybe you already guessed it, but Awesomenauts is a 2D MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game.
You play Awesomenauts with 2 teams. Both teams try to win the game by destroying the drill core (base) of the other team. Anyway, before you can even start destroying the enemy drill core you first need to beat up some droids, turrets and of course; enemy Nauts.
This guide will help you with everything you need to know about the basic aspects of Awesomenauts. Extensive strategies will not be covered in this guide. However I will give you some tips to get you started.
Warning: Before reading further this game is incredibly fun!…you have been warned!
I like to have some bro’s (Teams)
Well, you have 2…
You play Awesomenauts in 2 teams (red and blue), each teams has 3 Nauts.
Every player must choose a Naut at the beginning of a match. You can choose the same Nauts as the opposing team but you cannot choose the same Naut twice on the same team.
Notice: Playing the same Naut on the same team can be done in custom games where settings can be changed.
In the middle of the screen you can see your team members and the enemy Nauts. as you might already noticed you also can see how much health your teammembers have (you can not see the healthbar of your enemies) and how much time it will take before a dead enemy Naut will return to the batlle (respawn timer).
Notice: You need to turn on the “player status dock” setting in the settingsmenu to see the healthbars of your teammates and respawn timers of your enemies.
I like to sort (Naut category)
I need better look at these Nauts…
All nauts are unique but you can organize them in 5 different categories:
1. Harassers
These Nauts are specialists in chipping down enemy health and are most effective at long range.
2. Assassins
These Nauts are specialists in finishing off enemy Nauts that are almost dead. Most of the time an assassin has low healh as well, but they have good chasing and escaping capabilities.
3. Tanks
These Nauts are specialists in taking a lot of damage. Tanks have a lot of health but usually have very slow movement speed.
4. Supports
These Nauts are specialist in helping other teammates. Most of the time they can protect, heal or or boost teamembers for a short duration. The most common boosts are increased movement speed, increased attack damage and damage reduction.
5. Fighters
These Nauts are specialists in brawling/teamfight situations, most effective at close range.
I like to be unique (Nauts)
So you like to be unique…
Well luckily there are 29 different Nauts (characters) available in Awesomenauts to choose from. The developer, Ronimo, labeled all characters in different categories (easy, intermediate and hard). Each character has 2 different abilities and 1 auto attack (aa). Furthermore every Naut has a unique movement set (different jump heights, different movement speed and airborne capabilities).
Don’t be intimidated by the character categorization, some Nauts are labeled as easy but are very hard to master and some are labeled as hard while they are easy to play. For example Professor Yoolip is labeled as an intermediate Naut. But playing as him is not hard at all. You can throw dino robots with one ability and stungrab an enemy Nauts with the other ability. However, the stungrab makes him vulnerable. I think this is the reason why Yoolip is labeled as intermediate. Most of the time you need a teammate that can finish off the stunned enemy Naut.
I like to be unique (Nauts)

I like to do power moves (Abilities)
Don’t mess with this powerhouse I have power moves…
All abilities are unique and every Naut has (at least) 2 of them. An ability allows a Naut to do a special attack or move. After using an ability you need to wait for a short period of time (cooldown). The cooldown time depends on the Naut and ability you use.
As you can see Ted McPain just used his airstrike ability and now he needs to wait 10.4 seconds before he can use his airstrike again (red circle).
Some Nauts have abilities that are more complicated to use. These Nauts are able to switch in ability-rows. Most of the time these Nauts will be labeled as “hard” or “intermediate”. Examples of Nauts that use multiple ability-rows are Ted and Chucho, as you can see in the picture below.
1. Ted McPain starts with a machine gun (auto attack) and can throw an airstrike on the battlefield (ability 1). He also has an second ability (blue circle) which allows him to switch in ability rows (red circle).
2. After using his switch ability he will hold a shotgun instead of the machine gun and can use his stimpack instead of the airstrike. He can switch back again to the airstrike and machine gun if he uses the switch ability once more (blue circle).
I like to keep shooting all the time (Auto attack)
I do damage all day all night…
Well you can, auto attack (aa) is a basic attack that you can keep using. In comparison to a ability, auto attack don’t have a cooldown time. So you can keep punching or shooting your enemies as long as you want.
There are 2 different auto attacks:
1. Melee (short range attack)
2. Ranged (long range attack)
Notice: If you keep auto attacking your Naut will move slower then when you don’t attack.
However, some Nauts can buy special items in the shop which allow them to keep auto attacking without the movement penalty.
Max Focus – Flying camera item
This item allows Max Focus to use his auto attack without movement penalty
I like to move it move it (Movement)
Well I like to move it move it too…
Luckily every Naut can move! Some Nauts can jump, some Nauts can fly, some Nauts can hover in the air and some Nauts can use a temporary jetpack.
Some Nauts are able to do double- (Skolldir), triple- (Lonestar with upgrade) or even quadruple-jumps (Penny with upgrade).
This Item upgrade for Lonestar allow him to triple jump.
This item upgrade for Penny allow her to quadruple jump.
I like to level up (Xp)
it’s almost my birthday and then i will be taller…
Both teams start at team level 1 when the game begins. The maximum level you can reach with your team during a match is level 20. After every match your team level will be reset and your team starts the next match at level 1 again.
So why should I collect xp if Team xp gets reset after every match, you may ask.
Well every time your team has collected enough xp your whole team gets to the next level and every time your team level goes up you and your teammates will recieve a percentage upgrade in damage and in health. In other words your whole team get stronger and thats always good.
You can get Team xp for killing enemy Nauts, droids, creeps, solar bosses or destroying turrets. Not only you get Team xp but at the same time you collect some precious solar by doing this.
After every game you played vs players or co-op vs bots you will get some xp for you profile level. If you collected enough profile xp, your profile will rank up. At certain profile levels you will be rewarded with for example Awesomepoints or droppod parts. The maximum level your profile can reach is level 50.
You get some Naut xp after every game you played vs players or co-op vs bots (similar to your profile xp). Of course you only get Naut xp for the Naut you just played. You also get a reward at certain Naut levels, for example; Awesomepoints, droppod parts and items rows. The item rows are one of the most important rewards you can get. You get an additional 12 items upgrades for your Naut if you have unlocked all 3 item rows. The following item rows can be unlocked:
– The advanced item row at Naut level 1.
– The expert item row at Naut level 2.
– The master item row at Naut level 3.
Because you have more items to choose from you have a lot more flexibility as a player during a match. This allows you to try out different playstyles (builds) with your Naut and gives you more options to counter a specific Naut you play against. The maximum level a Naut can reach is level 12.
Vinnie & Spike unlock tree
Notice finishing a match before 3:05 in-game time will result in no Profile xp, Naut xp and Awesomepoints. You have beaten the enemy to fast.
I like to make some moneys (In-Game Currency)
You like to make money don’t you…
This section covers all the different in-game currencies used in Awesomenauts.
Solar is an in-game currency in Awesomenauts during a match. Every player can collect solar during a match in different ways, for example; killing Nauts, killing droids, during the droppod drop down and in many more ways.
All players start with 150 solar at the beginning of a match. You immediately can collect some more solar when the game starts by trying to catch some solar coins with you droppod. Solar starts to generate at the moment you hit the ground with your droppod. Every 2 seconds you get 1 solar. Solar is very important in Awesomenauts, because you need solar if you want to purchase items in the shop. The more items you have the stronger your Naut will be.
White solar coins give you 1 solar.
Golden solar coins give you 5 solar.
The best way to collect a lot of solar at once is by killing an enemy Naut or destroying an enemy turret. If you kill an enemy Naut or destroy a turret all your teammates will get 30 solar and you will get 70 solar for the kill or de destruction (the last hit on the enemy/turret). While you can collect a lot of solar, you also can lose a lot of solar. You lose 30 solar if you got killed. Don’t forget to buy items in the shop with your hard earned solar. You cannot have a negative solar balance.
Awesomepoints is an in-game currency in awesomenauts you get after every match.
Awesomepoints currency
By playing vs humans or coop vs bots you will get Awesomepoints after every game. Other ways to collect Awesomepoints include:
- Leveling up your profile (specific levels).
- Leveling up different Nauts (specific levels).
- Recruiting new players (when the recruited player reaches profile level 8).
With enough Awesomepoints you can buy new Nauts, portraits and droppod skins. Of cource a recently released Naut will be more expensive then the older ones. However, some older Nauts are for sale with a 40% discount.
If you like to buy a new skin for your droppod, you not only need to have enough Awesomepoints but droppod parts as well.
Droppod parts currency
You get 15 droppod parts when you hit profile level 10 and another 25 droppod parts when you reach profile level 30. You can also get droppod parts by leveling up your Nauts. Each Naut will give you 5 droppod parts at level 8 and another 15 droppod parts at level 12.
I like to drop down very fast (Droppod)
I love to fall back to earth at a 1000 miles a hour…
You start every match from space, you will be sitting in you droppod while you dropping down to the ground. In the meantime you try to collect as many solar flying around in the air. Collect enough solar and maybe you can buy an item upgrade right away!
Droppod and solar flying in the air.
Droppod skins
You can unlock new droppod skins in 2 different ways. You can buy them for real money or you can unlock them if you have enough Awesomepoint and droppod part. There are 4 different types of droppods manufacturers. Every manufacturer has his own set of droppods.
- Zork Inc.
– Mark Shoebox
– Mark II “Falling Closet” (free for all Awesomenauts founders*) - Manta
– Nautilon Pod
– Blue Medusa
– Leviathan - Xemzen
– Gorgos Embryo
– Plague Needle
– Dark Weaver - Fotonof SA
– Hellion T-50
– Kosmos DAK Wraith
– Mikolev’s Spectre
Every manufacturer (except Zork inc.) has 3 different droppod skins. These 3 droppod skins can be described as; tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3.
Fotonof SA manufacturer
First you need to unlock a tier 1 droppod skin before you can unlock a tier 2 droppod skin. The same applied to a tier 3 droppod skin, You first have to unlocked a tier 2 droppod skin before you can buy the tier 3 one.
If you however buy a droppod skin for real money you can for example unlock a tier 3 droppod skin without having a tier 1 or 2 droppod skin unlocked.
Notice; droppod skins with not effect game mechanics in any way.
*You are an Awesomenauts founder, if you owned the game before April 26, 2017.
I like to buy stuff (Shop)
I hope you have your shopping list ready…
The shop in Awesomenauts is the place where you buy all your item upgrades for you Naut. Both teams has their own shop. Most of the shops are placed very close to the drill core (excluding some workshop maps).
With your hard earned solar you can buy different item upgrade for the Naut you are playing with. With these item upgrade your Naut will be much stronger (more damage, more health, specials effects like slow, stun or silence).
By standing in the shop area you can open the shop menu by the press on a button (e).This will allow you to see all the different item upgrade available for you Naut.
Not only can you buy items in the shop but you also can replenish some lost health for your Naut. By standing in the shop area you will automatically refill all lost health in a short period of time.
Notice: As long as you don’t close the shopmenu you can refund your bought items with the refund-button.
I like to be more awesome (Items)
Let’s get more awesome…
Each Naut can purchase items in the shop. Items are upgrades for Nauts to make them stronger. Every Naut can buy a total of 12 items during a match. However you can only buy 3 different items per “item row”. There are a total of 4 different item rows.
The first item you see in a row in the picture below are the characteristics of your Naut. Every Naut starts with these items already unlocked. Every item you see after the first one in the row are purchasable with enough solar (item can difference in price).
(1) Ability 1 row Item upgrades specific to the first ability of your Naut.
(2) Ability 2 row Item upgrades specific to the second ability of your Naut
(3) Auto Attack row Item upgrades specific to the auto attack of your Naut.
(4) Utility row Item upgrades specific to the survivability and movement of your Naut.
Some items can be bought in multiple stages. This will allow you to buy an item upgrade multiple times. When you open the item menu in the shop you can see if an specific item has multiple stages by hovering with your mouse on the item. A tooltip will appear and tells you what the item effect is and if it has multiple stages. The maximum stages an item can have is 3.
This item has 2 stages (red circle)
This item has 3 stages (red circle)
When you for example buy all 3 stages of an item you still can buy 2 more item upgrade in the same row.
There are many different items in Awesomenauts and all items can influence your Naut in a different way. Some item combination (builds) allows you to counter an enemy Naut easier then other item combinations.
There are different types of items you can buy in the shop. The most familiar item upgrades are:
- Extra Damage
Gives your Naut extra damage - Extra Health
Gives your Naut extra health - Regen
Allows your Naut to heal over time - Stealth
Allows your Naut to be invisible for a short period of time. - Lifesteal
Allows your Naut to convert a certain percentage of damage to health. - Extra movement
Allows your Naut to move faster and/or jump higher. - Slow
An enemy hit by slow cannot move in normal speed for short period of time. - Stun
An enemy hit by stun cannot move or attack for short period of time. - Snare
An enemy hit by snare cannot move for a short period of time. - Silence
An enemy hit by silence cannot use any ablility for a short period of time. - Blind
An enemy hit by blind is unable to see the whole screen. The screen get filled with grey smoke and only a small circle around the blinded Naut will be visible. - Damage reduction
Allows your Naut to reduce incoming damage. - Damage over time (DOT)
Allows your Naut to do damage over time.
I like to explore (Maps)
Awesomenaust, a journey of exploration…
There are a total of 5 different maps in the game mode “versus players match” and “co-op versus bots”. One of the following maps will randomly be selected when you start a match:
- Ribbit IV
- AI Station 205
- Aiguillon
- Sorona
- Starstorm station
Every map has a special feature that you and you teammates can use as an advantage.
This maps feature is a solar boss. You can find this massive creep in the jungle part of the map as you can see in the picture below. Both teams have their own solar boss but you are able to kill a solar boss of the enemy.
Solar boss
While standing to closs to the solar boss or attackin it will result in some serious fight back. Solar bosses will do a lot of damage but when you successfully kill one you will be rewarded with a big xp boost and 20 solar for your whole team.
Attacking solar boss
AI Station 205 special feature is a big fire pit in the middle of the map. In a set period of time the fire will be activated and will do massive damage to every Naut that is present within the fire.
The fire timer gives you an indication when the fire will burst.
The fire timer on cooldown The fire timer filling up almost ready to burst
The special feature of Aiguillon is an invisibility item. This item looks like a giant red glowing eyeball (Stealth orb). When picked up your Naut will be invisible for a short period of time.
Stealth orb
You can see how long it will take before your Naut will be visible again.
Invisibility timer
This map special feature is a giant eating worm. When you stand on the pressure plate the giant
worm will be unleashed. Don’t underestimate this worm because it will eat everything in its way.
However, you can use this worm to destroy all droids on the bottom lane and grab all the solar
left behind. When you executed correctly you gain 20 solar per droid wave.
Worm
Starstorm station special feature are the numerous teleports placed on the map. There are a total of 6 teleport on the map, 3 of them are entry points and 3 of them are exit points. In other words teleports work like an one way ticket. You cannot use an exit point to teleport back to an entry point.
Teleport entrance (red) Teleport exit (green)
I like to switch (Lanes)
From beginner to awesome…
Every map on Awesomenauts has atleast 1 but on most maps 2 lanes. Some maps are a combination of 1 and 2 lanes. First 1 lane then a split into 2 lanes. Every lane has turrets that will help you to defend the drill core. Most of the time you need to defend both lanes at the same time against droids and enemy Nauts.
With the help of jump pads and glass platforms you will be able you switch fast between lanes.
Switching fast between lanes and destroying all the enemy droids will not only help you to defend your own turrets but also help you to focus on attacking the enemy’s turret (pushing turrets).
I like to start (Starting Gate)
1, 2, 3, ready! Go…
The starting Gate will ensure that all players are connected and ready for the match.
The gate will automatically
open after 40 seconds
in-game time. In the middle
of the gate you can see a
circle timer counting down to 0.
The last 3 seconds before the
gate opens will be shown in the
middle of the circle timer.
I like to be free (Energy Walls)
Yeah everyone wants to be free…
A energy wall is like a barrier. This can either be a blue or red barrier. Both shops on the map are always protected by a energy wall. This particular energy wall next to the shop will never break. Energy walls are relatively save places as long as you stand behind one, because they prevent enemies to go though them. Red energy walls will block the players of the blue team and visa versa. However some Nauts have the capability to use their abilities through an energy wall (or any other object).
There are also energy walls that do break. If your team destroys the first set of turrets (the top turrent and the bottom turrent) then the first set of energy wall(s) of the enemy will break. This allows your team to use new routes to enemy turret(s) or their drill core.
Breakable energy walls
I like to get launched (Jump Pads)
Houston we are ready for launch…
Jump pads are great machines, because they will launch your Naut to the direction the jump pad is pointing to. There are multiple jump pads per map. The great thing about these jump pads is that they allow you navigate very fast on a map. You can switch between lanes or launch yourself directly into the battle.
I like to jump through glass (Glass Platforms)
Are you sure you like to jump through glass…
Glass platforms are special objects you can find on all the maps. You will be able to stand or walk on these platforms. What makes this platform special is that you also be able to jump or drop down through these platforms.
Small glass platform Large glass platform
All the hidding areas on the map are separated by glass platforms. You also can find glass platforms hovering in the air on the map. They can give you great advantage during the intensive battles, because just like jump pads, glass platforms let you maneuver very fast between lanes.
Small glass platform with red energy wall.
I like to play hide n seek (Hiding area)
Found you…
Hiding areas (bush) are special areas on the map. Enemy Nauts cannot see you while you standing inside a hiding area. Not only you will be able to surprise attack your enemies from a hiding area but they also provide in a excellent hidding spot when you try to flee and want to teleport back to the shop.
Chucko inside a hiding area. The yellow outline marks the complete hiding area.
A hiding areas can also connect to another hiding area, as you can see in the picture below.
Some Nauts have the ability to reveal a hiding area (including on the minimap). For example when Sentry’s teleport beacon is placed inside a hiding area he and his teammates are able to see whats inside the area.
Hidding area Sentry’s teleport beacon exposing hidding area
I like to have a big gun (Turrets)
You wanna be Rambo, don’t you…
Both teams start with at least 3 turrets but, most maps have 4 turret per team, These turrets help you to protect your your drill core, by automatically shooting on all the enemies (droids and enemy Nauts) in range of the turret.
The turret(s) closest to your drill core (back turrets) have the most health and are much harder to destory then turrets in the front (front turrets).
Of course you defend your own turrets and try to destroy your opponents turrets. When you defend your turret you can stand close or behind your turrent, because enemy Naut cannot pass by your turret before it is destroyed.
Notice: Some Nauts have the abilitiy shoot through turrets or other objects, even if you stand behind your turret.
Rocco shooting his arrow through a turret
The best thing you can do when you try to attack a turret (pushing) is to use your own droids as shield (meat shield). Turrets will always shoot to the nearest target which allow you to attack the turret without taking damage. When a turret is destroyed, every member of your team will receive 40 solar. The Naut that hit the turret as last will receive an additional 30 solar for destroying the turret.
Turret shooting Penny
Turret shooting droids instead of Penny
I like to be a magician (Naut Teleport)
Hocus pocus…
Every Naut as the ability to teleport. If you hold down (default) the f-button on your keyboard, your Naut starts glowing and after a short period of time your Naut will teleport back to the shop. This can be very handy when you are low on health and you need restore some health.
I like to have an helicopter view (Minimap)
Get to the choppa!…
The minimap is visible at the bottom right side of your screen. This map tells you everything you need to know what is happening on other parts of the map. It will show you how much health your turrets still have, where enemy Nauts (not hiding areas) and team Nauts are located, all the droids and all the health pickup places.
I like to be creepy (Creeps)
don’t be scared, creeps are everywhere…
If you kill one of these little guys you will get health and xp in return! You also get 3 solar for every creep you kill. There are always 2 places where creeps are located on a map. One on the side of the red team and one on the side of the blue team. Creeps will respawn after a few seconds when killed and they do spawn infinite.
Starstorm Robot
Can be found on Starstorm Station.
Small Beast
Can be found on Ribbit IV
Solar Krab
Can be found on Aiguillon.
Service-bot
Can be found on AI Station 205
Small Worm
Can be found on Sorona.
I like to have some groundtroops (Droids)
Here they come…
Droids are very important in Awesomenauts. Even though they are little, they are big helpers. They can kill enemy Nauts, push turrets and destroy the drill core. A droid automatically spawn in a groups of 4. When they reach a lane they will split up in 2 groups, with 2 droids in each group. If you destroy an enemy droid you will get 1 golden solar coin (5 solar)
I like to have some airsupport (Hummingbird Droids)
its raining droids hallelujah…
Hummingbird drois will spawn at a maximum of 3. Depending on the counter when you puss the button. When they are flying in groups of 3 they do a lot of damage against droids and enemy Nauts. Destroying a Hummingbird droid will result in a golden solar coin (5 solar)
I like to have a big buddy (Super droid)
Yeah, send in the giant robot with the bazooka…
Okay, but first you need to destroy some turrets! When you destroy an enemy turret you get one super droid. This droid will spawn and move on the same lane as the destroyed turret. The rockets this droid fires will do a lot of damage against turrets, Nauts and the enemy drill core. Destroying a super droid will result in 2 golden solar coins (10 solar).
I like to be alive again (Death)
Oops i did it again…
Well… don’t worry, everybody dies. Even the best Awesomenauts players die sometimes.
If your Naut got killed or committed suicide you will lose 25 solar. Not only you will lose solar but all the enemy Nauts will get 30 solar. On top of that your killer gets another 40 solar for killing you (70 solar total). So basically the enemy team gets 130 solar (70+30+30). If thats not enough they also get a chunk of xp.
The higher your team level the longer it will take to get back into the battlefield if you die (respawn timer). While your Naut is dead and you are waiting in your droppod to get launched you can press the shopmenu-button (default “e”) to open the shopmenu. This allows you to buy some items before the droppod launch.
I like to play every week (Naut Rotation)
Believe me you will…
Every week there is a rotation which allow you to play with at least 5 different Nauts.
Rotations Nauts are marked with a rotaions icon
I like to have more (Daily Bonus)
Every day is more…
Once a day your first win will result in some extra xp for your Naut level and profile level. You also get some extra Awesomepoints.
When you navigate to the “play” tab at the home screen you will see these little daily awesome icons as you can see in the picture below. If you hover over one of those two icons you will see a tooltip which tells you how much more time it will take before your daily bonus is active again.
I like to be different (Naut Skins)
This dude looks just like me…
If you like to be different you can try to unlock or buy some Naut skins. Some Naut skins can be obtained for free. An example of a free Naut skin is the Creeper Clunk skin, this skin can be obtained by killing a enemy Creeper Clunk.
Skins can be organised in 4 different categories:
– Normal skins (blue)
Kage Genji skin
– Premium skins (green)
Party Boy McPain skin
– Ultimate skins (yellow)
Electronic Supersonci Cybertronic Rocco skin
– Exclusive skins (purple)
Creeper Clunk skin
All the Naut skins in Awesomenauts are only a cosmetic change of the Naut itself. Playing with different skins in Awesomenauts will not effect the game mechanics in any way.
I like to hear another voice! (Announcer)
No not in your head…
That voice you hearing during the match is called the announcer. The announcer will help you in every battle. This dude or dudette will tell you when your teamates has killed an enemy Naut.
The announcer will also let you know when your turret or drill core is under attack by the enemy team.
At this moment most of the announcers can be bought for real money. However, there is 1 announcer you can unlock by inviting a friend that didn’t play Awesomenauts for at least 1 month. If you play 1 match with your friend you will unlock the Slowwolf announcer.
There are 2 different types of announcers:
– Normal announcers (blue)
Scrolls of Xipang announcer
– Exclusive announcers (purple)
Pappa Gnaw announcer
Just like skins, announcers are purely a cosmetic change of the game (sound effects). Having different announcers will not effect the game mechanics in any way.
I like to play a minigame while waiting (Easter Egg)
Try beating this…
There is a very funny little easter egg in Awesomenauts. This easter egg can be found if you click on the little square in the top right corner of your screen (next to your profile picture). A minigame will start where you try to get as much points as possible (highscore will be saved). You can use your left and right mouse in this minigame. You can also do a “special” by clicking your ability button (default middle mouse).
Notice: The little square will only appear if you are waiting while searching for the next round.
You can start the minigame by clicking this button.
I like to have some tips for now (Beginner)
Now I know all the secrets, muhahaha…
1. Play with all the different Nauts so you know all their abilities. This gives you a good understanding what each Naut can do. If you don’t have all the Nauts unlocked and you would like try one out, you can do this by pressing the try out button when you click on a Naut in the Armory tab.
Try out Deadlift
2. Start your first couple of games by playing in the practice mode, custom mode or co-op versus bots mode. You get a good understanding and feeling for all the different characters and maps.
Notice: In custom games rules can be changed which can lead to a whole different experience.
3. Level your Nauts up to rank 4, so you have unlocked all item upgrades (advanced, expert and master items) for your Nauts.
4. Try not to leave mid-match in versus player mode. When leaving in the middle of a match you will be replaced by a bot, which gives your teammates a significant disadvantage. Also you will be punished with a time lock if you don’t rejoin the current match in time. So you won’t be able to join a new match for a certain amount of time. This also applies to co-op vs bots mods.
5. Communicate with your teammates. Let them know what you are planning to do by pressing one of the following numbers on your keyboard.
6. You can watch replays of your own matches but also from other players. By doing so you can see all the items that have been bought by all the players and experiment with some different builds. Furthermore, it’s possible to see tricks other player do.
7. Have fun!
I like to have some tips for later (Advanced)
Don’t tell me there is more…
1. Use different builds against different Nauts. Some builds can be more effective against specific Nauts then others.
2. Make sure you check the minimap regularly so you don’t get surprised by the enemy team.
3. Try to stick with you team as much as possible. If you stick with your teammates it will be much harder to kill you then when you are alone. With a complete team you can easily get a kill on a single enemy Naut.
4. Don’t overextend. For example if you chase an almost dead Yoolip, if he gets behind his turret and he stungrabs you in front of the turret you are mostlikely dead.
5. Use hiding areas as potential traps. If you enemies are not paying attention you can suprise them and try to get a kill.
6. Check the “check player status dock” setting in the settingsmenu. This will allow you to see teammate health, enemy deathtimers and droppod status.
7. Have fun!
I like to have some tips for the future (Expert)
Maybe you can give me some tips…
