Serio’s Skree Guide (Tips & Tricks on Skree)

Overview

This Guide is all about Skree! I will give you some tips and tricks to how you can make the most of Skree when you’re battling with other players across the globe. I will explain which builds I go for and what you can do to improve yours. I’m known for being one of the best Skree players in nauts and is willing to share his experiences with you guys. 😛

Introduction: Welcome To SerioDmGuy’s Skree Guide!

Hey I’m SerioDmGuy and I’m gonna go through the basics and the most tricky parts of being awesome Skree player! As many of you can tell or should able to, This is my first guide so yes there is gonna be quite allot of spelling & grammar mistakes in this guide! you can let me know in the comments down below after reading the guide!

If you would rather watch a video! Here it is!

Ask yourselfs these 3 things before you read the next section as the guide will take you through the very long journey

  • How Am I playing Skree? Do I need to improve or do I need to learn from scratch!?
  • What kind of Skree are you? Are you a defensive type or aggressive?
  • What can you do best as Skree? Foucs on dealing AA on the team, upgrade saw damage on the enemy team? perhaps you want to foucs on totem blocking by throwing it on exits.

These 3 are the most important questions throught out the journey!
If you can answer these questions then you should able to continue to the next section!

(The Guide will always get updated I will change the title and post the guide’s patch notes in the information section down below this guide!)

Chapter 1: Meet Skree and Become Him!

Meet Skree, He has all the skills to become the mighty king of lightning!
(and cheap kills)

To set the mood of this guide I recommend listening to Skree’s theme on repeat!

Backstory:
Skree belongs to a race of hitchhiking witchdoctors. Mysticism and superstition are a big part of Skree’s heritage. After being dumped on the Starstorm by a space trucker. Skree found himself all alone on an abandoned space station filled with mighty looking robots. Mistaking the robots’ station for a burial ground of ancient space spirits, he decided to live the rest of his life in service to the silenced automatons. He spent his time on collecting different parts of the battle station to create shrines for his newly found robot gods and connected robot parts and machine scraps to form huge robotic statues and altars. Unbeknownst to Skree, his rigging rites accidentally shortly activated the mainframe of the Starstorm, powering the construction robots and the Starstorm’s weapons systems itself.
All of a sudden Skree found the Starstorm vibrating as it’s systems slowly started to come online, it’s robotic denizens starting to carry out their age-old grim directive. Skree decided he liked his spirit-gods better when they were statues and went into hiding.
Skree was found by the Awesomenauts on the Starstorm hiding in one of his shrines in the Starstorm’s ventilation systems, praying to make the evil robots go back to sleep. Thinking the Awesomenauts were magical spirit-guides, Skree adopted a new vision quest and joined the Awesomenauts to seek out better spirit-gods to worship.

(Provided by the Wiki)

As you can read, Skree has a quite intresting backstory.

Skree can use his Saw blade to deal mighty damage to his rivals while just shooting out lightning for backup. that’s the main focus of using him (Use Saw Blade to deal short amount of damage then chase them off with AA)

The Lighting Chain on his AA is meant to represent the gods moving around the enemies giving them no hope to be alive!

Chapter 2: Basic Skree Talk

Skree can be easy & hard depending on the nauts comp and where you put yourself at when trying to reach the enemy!

I’m gonna make this easy and simple to understand the basics so here goes nothing.

  • Like any other naut, Skree can move left or right, jump and even glide/hover in mid air just by holding that key down (w key, space key, A Button on 360 Controllers) etc
  • His Auto Attack is Auto Aim, Just keep holding down the (left click button, X Button 360) etc. you can attack while moving (it’s 25% less speed if AA is in action) or stay still and still do damage. Make sure you still aim the cursor at the enemy!
  • The Saw Blade is when lightning is real! (Right Click) and you will see it fly! you can click again to stop the saw blade at anytime you can also use it to bring it towards you useful for getting your saw back!
  • Okay, now this is where things get a little challenging. Skree has skill set called Totem which is like big huge brick that Skree throws. (Middle Mouse Click) to make Skree Throw it anywhere you want, make sure your aiming still. The style of aim is similar to Raelynn’s time rift.
  • The last piece would be always make sure to stay with your team, Unless you know it’s safe to counter solo. Skree is a naut you have to be careful with, his totem is one of the only escape routes he has.

Chapter 3: Silky Smooth Movement

Skree’s Movement is nothing to overlook! There are many ways to look at Skree when he moves/hovers around the map. Playing in different maps and environments can have an effect on how you see players react when you either move towards them or outwards.

I’m gonna give you some advice on when it comes to engaging nauts and the maps themselves!

  • Skree can be a easy target when he is alone! don’t think of him as nice big tough cookie. You must be always moving at all cookie costs. Even if Skree himself does not like it. Remember you’re in control not the Skree nor anyone else!
  • Depending on the map, you’ll want to play differently. For this sake it will be Ribbit. Never go alone in the middle jungle unless you know you have backup with you! Make sure you either go defensive or aggressive on the enemy team!
  • Skree is very fast! Take advantage of it! attack the enemies with your AA & Saw from a distance and they won’t go for you unless your either playing solo aggressive or going alone.
  • Wherever you are, always take caution of how far you go towards the turrets and the timing to when you should throw Totem and starting solo pushing the turret!
  • This is my favourite tip, you can hover near the middle of any jungle like ribbit to see if Yuri has set any mines without touching them or you can just be a great target for mankey’s next season!

Oh and make sure the game is running at 60fps+ as this also effects on the timing and movement you will have. Anything under 30fps is carp it’s 2016!

Chapter 4: Superior Auto Attack Rod

Yes you read this right! This Section is all about Skree’s trusty friend Mr. Cookie J Rod. (sorry that’s what I call it) You will find this the most useful tool in Skree’s arsenal. This type of attack is a hybrid between melee and ranged since it’s lightning and you will always have to be closer to the enemy then your friends. Be very aware that this Superior tool can be used in all kinds of situations. Such as chasing down enemies and making sure the enemy is always ganked on by the Superior Rod!

Now I’m gonna yet again give you some tips on how to make the best out of his Rod!

  • Find an easy target first and then instead of focusing on killing creeps and droid pushing, you should always look for a easy naut to target and do some good damage! always let your team do the droid pushing unless you have another idea.
  • Remember this is Skree, You can deal small to large amounts of damage within 1-10 secs using the auto attack rod. To make sure you get the most out of it, upgrade the damage. I will later explain this in the build section.
  • Auto Attack on Skree is the worst damage you can use for killing droids. Think of it as a easy and quick way to do small amounts of small damage with in a few secs. Focus it on nauts instead and let your Saw Blade finish the droids off instead, much quicker!
  • When you get the chance, steal the enemy team’s creeps after you are done chasing enemy nauts and finish pushing with your saw blade with totem! this will force them to go back and heal in their base.
  • Take advantage of the middle! you will 50% of the time put the enemies off pushing just by dealing small amounts of damage in the middle of the field/map!

Lag can also take effect on where that naut is when your using it!

Chapter 5: The Mighty Saw Blade!

There is something missing, what could that be? Oh that’s right, it’s Skree’s Mighty Saw Blade!
What can the Mighty blade do you ask? well it can do alot of damage after you send the saw out to do it’s bidding! You can use it as a trap so if anyone tries escaping you can right click the saw again to send it towards you, finishing off the enemy! It can be used for clearing out droids and doing quick pushes. This gives your team chance to focus on pushing the enemy team back!

I have some tips and tricks that you could use for Skree’s cookie shaped saw blade!

  • Always keep the look out for a single target naut, as this will give you a great advantage to deal some damage on the enemy by using the saw blade on them! (right click)
  • The Saw Blade is best used for pushing droids. If you see some enemy droids on the map attacking yours, go towards them and use saw. Now make sure the saw stays there(press the saw button again) until the droids are gone as this will clean them. You can then leave the saw to do the murdering while you seek for a push or a naut to kill!
  • You can do about 400* damage on base saw, so when attacking enemy naut. Make sure you leave the saw in the one spot where the enemy is so the enemy can be taking damage from where the saw was. If the enemy is almost out of saw’s AoE or reach then (right click) again to bring the saw back.
  • Think man, THINK! you can use Totem and Saw together to make some sweet combos such as placing a Totem near a dead turret or exit. You can do it just by throwing the totem with (middle mouse click) (enemy escape routes) and then finish them off using the saw, always hit/attack the enemy with saw first, then wait till they are almost out of reach of the saw then bring the saw back towards you (right click) so you can get the most out of the damage it can do! in most cases you can force the enemies out towards you and kill them!
  • The Saw is almost like your second best friend expect that the ROD IS YOUR BEST FRIEND! Skree can combine Rod and Saw to do some sweet moves. What do I mean by combine? I mean the fact that Skree can use saw to do alot of damage twice! if you can hit them twice. While using AA on the enemy to scare them off and hopefully to kill them. If you just do the simple thing and just attack from afar you will do great and win in no time! 😀

The Mighty Saw Blade can be used in many ways! such as trapping nauts in one corner after buying the monster suit case upgrade! The possibilities are endless!

*Not 100% sure on the saw damage, can someone please let me know thx!** 😉
**Editor’s note: 440 at base, 220 flying out and 220 flying back in, though dmg increases with level

Chapter 6: All Hail the Totem!

Cookies or not, this Totem is not just a huge brick shaped cookie! it’s Skree’s 3rd best friend. When he sleeps at night he worships the Totem (All Hail The Totem)! anyway, Skree’s Totem is not just any old brick it’s a brick with a face! yes the Totem can block enemies from coming towards you and from escaping if you throw it in the right places such as escape routes. You can do many great things with it such as making the Totem slow down enemies with the slow upgrade or increase the damage Skree does this when he is near by! You can do pretty much anything with this brick! Pro Skrees will use the Totem mostly for trapping nauts so they can’t escape which is great cause then you can wipe them out with love! I meant weedlings…

Here are some tips and tricks about the Totem from my experiences.

  • The best and simple trick! is to wait for the enemy to come towards you and then throw the Totem (middle mouse click/hold) on an escape route such a turret or even dead turrets! (or escape routes etc). You should then able to trap the enemy making it easier for you to finish them off with Auto Attack (Left Click) and Saw (Right Click).
  • Sometimes they say, if you have no idea where to place the brick then I suggest throwing the Totem in the middle of the jungle so they will have harder time securing the damn place! but seriously it’s the best idea if you have no idea what the Totem can be used for. But use this tip wisely as this may cost ya ice cream flavoured weedlings!
  • Skree’s Totem has a timing aim a bit like Raelynn’s Time Rift! Make sure to hold it (Middle Mouse Click) and aim first so you don’t miss, your opportunity to grind in some action! Be Smart! never do anything time wasting with the Totem. Time is precious not for money making! Always think twice before using the Totem as it does have quite long cooldown. Before you throw make sure you think twice to make sure you get the most out of the huge brick! I mean Totem.
  • The Sky Gods Are Falling! Nope that’s wrong! The Totem is Falling! Yes the delay before Skree’s Totem throw, gives you chance to use the skill when holding down the (middle mouse click) button. for etc you can hold it while you are using the jumpad so then you don’t waste time aiming it later. it saves you a lot of time when trying to trap enemy! I do this all the time as this gives the enemy a shorter chance to escape such as a dashing frog and penny pounce fox! Practise the aiming of Totem first so you will get adjusted to the style of aim!
  • Teamwork! Now this is one of my favourite tricks and tips! Use the Totem to give you and the team a greater advantage. Such as trapping lonestar after he used bull so then something like Scoop or Swigs can trap the enemy even more! Trapping enemies and changing the escape routes using the Totem is the best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skill Skree has and it’s very unique use it with cookie care! Always think smart when using the Totem! Become The Skree! If you were playing on Aiguillon you can trap them under the jumpad with the Totem. That will give you a great advantage! Make sure you place the totem in the middle of the jumpad area though. Or else they the enemy can escape! just like alya did! lelz

All Hail Totem! Totem is the big brick you have to take advantage of. Oh and be careful as lag can effect on the players/enemies position.

Chapter 7: The Gods Ascend us

Skree has Hitpoints just like every other naut right!? Well to make the most out of Skree it’s best to upgrade his Hitpoints or upgrade his Regen! Just to be safe.

The Gods Ascend Skree from afar but you may ask yourselfs now, have I read everything about his main features? Movement, Superior Rod, The Mighty Saw Blade and The Totem! if so you can carry on reading the rest of this guide! This Build is what I go for most of the time! It’s called

Serio’s GODLIKE BUILD!

If you follow the build the picture provides up there^ then there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to attacking, defending and pushing the droids like ze boss.

Someone Suggested Good Item/Upgrade Swap for the build!
Prof Snowleopard: i would swap the voodoo doll for the ornamented pipe in the build. :3

Wait for it.. BAAM!

Peasent Build!

I main skree but I don’t use or have any other builds other than this! It’s quite useful for dealing Saw Blade damage early game and it’s cool if you can win while using the build. Nothing much to say other than BOOM! You’re dead and Skree hates you.
