A bug fix for Fallout 1 & 2, this alternative helps with frozen menus, crashing, and resolution tearing.

Introduction

Alright guys, so some of you might be experiencing glitches and bugs with Fallout 1 & 2. These usually occur from the games age. The hardware and or operating system is too new for the game to process it. This fix does not work for everyone, but has worked for my friends and I.

The Color Fix

So first you need to head on over to control panel, here you will see numerous options. The one you want to select is “adjust screen resolution” under appearance and personalization.

Now click advanced settings, then choose the video driver you use for Fallout, most people use the integrated card for running Fallout.

Select the option “list all modes”, you should now see many options for selecting a resolution and monitor hertz. Select the option 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600. Both of these have been known for fixing coloration and render errors.
