How to do everything much quicker/easier for Fallout Shelter

How to do everything much quicker/easier

Overview

I assume you started the game and quickly noticed how much waiting there is. Considering the achievements, you would need to play this game for several months to get all of them (unless you are ready to pay a few hundred dollars). Fear no more, because now I will show you how to get everything done significantly faster.

The method itself

So you got to wait like 10 hours for your dwellers to reach their quest, huh? One interesting thing is that the ingame time is tied to your PC clock. You probably see where I’m going with this. Simply change your PC time or date to skip several hours of waiting. Also, you don’t have to close the game to make it work, the best way to do it is to launch the game in a small window and put the clock settings window right next to it.

Applications

There are several applications to speed up your progress in the game. Here are some I used to get the achievements quickly.

Getting weapons/outfits/caps

Send one or more dwellers into the Wasteland and set your PC clock forward for one hour. Now go back to your game to recall your dweller(s) and set your clock forward once again to have them right in front of your vault. This process will be more efficient once you have better equipment and higher levels on your dwellers. Keep in mind that you can send them much longer into the wastelands once you do. I can get around 5000 caps from a single level 50 dweller and some nice loot on top of that, a proper clock change for me personally was two entire days (with Stimpaks).

Getting more dwellers

There are two ways to do this:

Living quarters
Put one male and a female into the living quarter and set the clock forward for one hour. After that, they will instantly go into the backroom (which can also be skipped with the clock). Once the woman is pregnant set your clock forward for four hours. This will give an immediate child dweller. If you want to have an adult dweller quickly, you simply skip four hours.

Radio station
Build a radio station and send assign at least one dweller to it. Now skip 3 hours to have a small chance to have a new dweller arrive at your vault. Your chance will increase as you upgrade the radio station and merge it into a triple radio station. This method is much quicker because you only need to set your clock forward once per dweller.

Getting Stimpaks/Radaways

Not much to explain here. Build a medbay/science lab and set the clock forward depending on how long it takes for your production (usually 2-3 hours).

Crafting

Crafting certain legendary weapons in the weapon workshop or outfits in the armory can take up to 14 days! Nobody has time to wait for that so you might as well skip that too.

Increasing SPECIAL

Build the necessary rooms to train your dwellers for the skill you require. The first few level ups will only take 1-2 hours, but as you proceed it will take up to 24 hours so be ready to skip entire days.

Quests

Already touched on this one earlier and I really don’t have to explain this anymore, do I? However, this is where I noticed how much of a pay to win wall this game is. You need to pay for Nuka-Cola Quantum to make these quests even bearable, especially for the achievements. But it gets worse…

Lunchboxes

This one is the biggest rip-off. You have to pay 1€ per lunchbox (unless you buy a bundle). This is where I draw the line because these are actually necessary to get all achievements. I opened 590 of these to get the required achievement and believe me this was a real pain in the ass. Of course you already know that I didn’t spend 590€ on this but instead set my PC clock forward for an entire week constantly to farm these. One upside of these is that you can get some very good items on the side to help you on your journey.

Final words

So is this a legit way to play this game and get all achievements? I would say yes. This can’t be classified as a cheat because nobody in their right mind would wait several months to make some decent progress if you could do that same progress in just an hour. Especially considering the pay to win aspect. So don’t be afraid of using this, it won’t even get you banned. Enjoy!
