How to play as the Cultist alone for Enter the Gungeon

How to play as the Cultist alone

Overview

For when you have no actual friends but you have a controller and want some of that purple cloak style…

What you’ll need:

1. A controller, I personally use a PS3 controller because I got it with my PS3 but you can use anything you want.
2. A heart of stone.
3. You might want to download DS3 Tool if your controller doesn’t work instantly, you can use it to download drives if your computer doesn’t download the correct ones by default, its really handy, remember to make it emulate as the controller you’re holding, or you might mess up the controls.

What you’ll need to actually do:

1. Configure the controller whatever way you want it.
2. Open the game with the controller plugged in and enter co-op mode.
3. Go to control settings.
4. Change the player 2 controls to keyboard/mouse if you want that or to controller if you want to play wtih the controller.
5. Enter The Gungeon.
6. Keep player 2 (Cultist) safe while you walk player 1 into a bunch of enemies and let him die.
7. Have fun, you get a now useless Friendship Cookie but some stat boosts because player 1 is dead, all enemies have 40% more health due to co-op mode though.

Extra tips and tricks;

-The Cultist has his own past, so you might want to clear the game with him. He can’t craft the gun to kill the past though, so you need to complete the game with a different character first.
-Try to keep the dead body around the middle of the room if possible, especially in bosses, as the game will try to keep both you and the dead player on the screen, often getting you hit, but I guess you deserve that for killing him off every floor.
-Try finding actual friends to play the game with.
-You can switch the useless Friendship Cookie with the active item of player 1 after he dies for the first time.
-You can’t open chests while player 1 is dead, as it will consume the chest and revive player 1, it is best to leave them closed untill after beating the boss on that floor, wich will revive player 1, enabling you to open all chests, and then killing him off again on the second floor.
-The Lockpick the Pilot carries is probably the most useful active to get, as this will leave you with various stat boosts and a chance to open locked chests without a key.
-If you pick the Hunter for player 1, you can pick up her crossbow after she’s dead, and the dog will still follow the ghost, picking up items along the way.
-If you pick the Convict for player 1, you can pick up her sawed-off and her molotov.
-Leave a rating as this guide took quite some time to perfect, as there’s no other guide for this on Steam.
-Tell me if you have any other tips or things to add
