1) If you use a keyboard for car racing games like Dirt, make sure to configure the turn keys and gear change keys and the breaks or hand break keys to your most dominant hand. This is because you will need to gain and gauge the amount of pressure to input when using a keyboard, and this is best easy to accomplish with your dominant hand side.

2) If you use a controller (e.g) Xbox Controller, PlayStation Controller or Steam Controller etc. You want to make sure your dominant hand has the same side as the acceleration and hand brake control buttons, and that you least dominant hand controls the drive turns or wheels. 1) Unless you are in a drift challenge. DO NOT TRY DRIFTING AT CORNERS OR HARD CURVES.

To be able to drift you need to briefly play with the Hand break (NOT SOFT BREAKS)… Hand breaks. this however will instead cause your car to reduce speed very quickly and you’ll also loose control and crash into the barrels BECAUSE there is not enough space for a proper drift. PLUS other opponents will gain an advantage as a result of you dropping your speed below the normal soft turn speeds at corners!

2) In drift challenges or combination challenges, To drift in a close to perfect circle, all you have to do is to target the turn point at an off angle away from the large drift cone. – Then you hit a HARD SHARP turn in towards the drift cone and at the same time simultaneously pressing on your HAND BREAK / CLUTCH button briefly. And once you hit the drift zone or you are not in the drifting phase.. Make sure to keep nudging and playing around gently or fiddling with your hand break button just enough to get back into the circle of the drift zone!
