Overview
Guide covering the basics (Getting Started, Preparing for Battles, Battle Quests, Expertise, Fishing, Trading)If you have any feedback to give like ideas for new sections or tips I would appreciate it much! I am trying to make a guide that helps all players new or old (especially new players).
Getting Started
When picking a hero you want to think of what two styles appeal to you most. You have 5 slots to use and there is 6 character keep that in mind.
Kai – Uses a wide array of ranged abilities to combat enemies and is very agile in his ability to dodge enemies.
- Style: Bow
- Style: Cross-bow
Karok – He can absorb damage if you time his attacks and dodges right. He is great for dealing out damage but slow, while being able to sustain tanking with timing.
- Style: Pillar
- Style: Cestus
Evie has the greatest contrast when talking about style. She is either long-mid range spell caster, or a up-front melee scythe wielder. She is able to revive body members without feathers which makes her great support.
- Style: Staff
- Style: Scythe
Hit-and-run combat where she can attack an enemy, bind it with a spell and detonate in at a safe distance
Fiona – Defense focused and does major damage by taking advantage of counters. Fiona has a buckler and a kite shield which gives her more options for how she wants to defend against enemies.
- Style: Hammer/Shield
Hammer is slower than using a sword but it deals more damage. - Style: Sword/Shield
Lann – Mobility focused and is able to move around the most while dealing damage.
- Style: Twin Swords
Dual swords are considered the harder playstyle but deal more damage. - Style: Twin Spears
Spears are famous for its 360-Degree style gameplay. Most people who are new to this build generally just try to make spinning last as long as possible to maximize mobility and avoid getting hit. The other playstyle is similar to sword and relies more on knowing distance of attacks/timing and being precise.
Vella – Mix of offense and defense abilities to give both survivability and damage capabilities.
- Style: Twin Swords
Note: The story mission to introduce you to the game is skippeable.
Character Stats
Leveling up increases your stat points.
Defeating the end of the chapter gives you extra health.
Titles give you bonus stat points and can be discovered simply by doing the condition at least once.
Example: If kick one jelly to death, a title will be discovered of kicking 25 in my character screen if I click titles.
Preparation for Battles
Potions
Buy potions at the magic shop that can heal your hp/stamina. It is useful to keep you alive and remember that it is far more effective to drink it when standing still but also more dangerous so make sure you have the time to gulp one down.
Secondary Weaponary
Secondary weapons are extremely helpful for bosses and can be effective depending on the boss type. Some bosses can actually be grappled and fall down so the team can take advantage and attack him without worrying about the boss striking back.
Campires give you buffs if you sit near them for a certain period of time. They also have higher levels you can achieve if you stick around longer.
Town Campfire Is located near boats
- Gives random buff stat every hour
- Will get longer the longer you sit there (level 3 being max)
In-Battle Campfire: Is a item you can buy from the npc shops
- Gives you attack and armor buffs.
- Durablity buff makes armor break less.
Guild Campfire
- – click campfire and guild to apply
- Faster, stronger buffs than in-battle campfires
- Gives shorter repair rate
Battle Quests
- You need a certain amount of battle points to unlock the next area.
- Get battle points by planning out what side objectives you will accomplish and what mode will make it easiest to succedd in.
Example: I want to kill a boss with spears, so i put it on easy mode so i can see their health bar.
You need to advance story quest if you want to get to the point of unlocking transformations along with other more typical rewards like exp, gold, and gear.
There are some quests that reward you with the ability to learn a skill. You must accomplish these quests to obtain certain skills with any character.
Expertise
Expertise is a great way to make profits on the market because it takes up less material to make things than by using NPCs to craft.
