Apply to all Interval to those who experience it.
How did this happened?
For me, It was started off with Interval 3 “The L” (some experience later than others). You just minding your own business, killing Replica and then suddenly, the game froze and maybe you can just heard the audio music.
Now, some of you had says that the game has NO PROBLEM running on Windows 10 or any Compatibility, but this keep crashing and whatever OS you used, it still f@#ked. I am not going to discuss that, as there is plenty from the Forums Discussion/Guides of this Community Hub that you can find.
Let Me explained something first.
The Problem
Okay, there are some number of problems on why this happened.
1. A common problem, something to do with the save files getting corrupted.
2. Recurring OS updates affected some game files.
3. Memory Drives/Graphic Cards.
4. Compatibility issue.
5. Plenty of others that people find out and is too many to mention.
The Solution
Okay, well, there is a lot of fix that either work, or doesn’t work. So, I’ll let you judge and try whether this work on yourself or not. This came from the Discussion forums.

modify the game.ini file, the “gameruns” to 0.

” For the INTERVAL 3 crash for me it was showing an “Out of Memory” error.
After a google I noticed on pcgamingwiki there was a passing reference to improving loading times and Aero errors by patching the exe to use 4G memory.
(I really need to stop forgetting about this tool as it is not for specific games or applications)
Ran the 4GB_Patch on the FEARXP executables and the level is now loading and working on max graphics settings “

Well to some people, it might work or not, but to me this just either fix for their own or someone that does made it work. At this time, I don’t use this try, because I found the issue my self.
You could try it, or don’t. I’ll leave it up to you.
My solution and how I fixed it.
Well, I give you some run down on HOW MY FIX WORK.
1. type “t” on your Keyboard and press “maphole” to skip this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level, along with others that you suffered from the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crash.
2. If you REALLY want to play this INTERVAL FULLY, I recommend NOT TO PLAY THE GAME VIA STEAM CLIENT, otherwise, it will f@#ked as this continue and made you lose your $h!t at this point.
3. Play the game on the lowest setting of all. But SET IT IN THE CONFIG by editing it with Notepad, by finding where the setting.cfg is located.
EXAMPLE:
“Drive C: (or whatever you put it/name it) >> Users >> Public >> Public Documents >> TimeGate Studios >> FEARXP”
4. If you still experience the issue, as your resolution changing/keep reseting, Open the game folder
EXAMPLE:
“Your Drive Name” >> “Your Directory Where You Install Steam” >> steamapps >> common >> FEAR Ultimate Shooter Edition >> FEAR XP
Now, that’s about it. And I hope it covers all, if not, well I don’t know. Because this is an old game from 2005 and it’s Warner Bros. fault for pulling Monolith out of SEGA’s @$$ that troubled the FEAR and Condemned games. So which is why, we never seen any of Monolith original title like this.

Q: I never experience this issue and I wonder why?
A: It’s better not to ask about it. Just be grateful, which unlike everybody else, that is f@#ked because of this.
Q: You mentioned above the problem is a corrupt save. Because I think that it only occurred because of using Quick Save/Manual Save. Does this corrupt it or not?
A: I still don’t know about the save files, because there is 30% it could be, but sometimes it doesn’t.
Q: Did you use any compatibility change?
A: Nope, still working on Windows 10 and f@#k all without worry 😝
Q; You said that this issue fix most of Interval problem, but some does not. Can you help me?
A: Like I mention before, it could be a corrupt save files and among others that I type in. There is still issue that still being looked on and I’m still not sure of how it can be fixed or not. The only issue to solve all of this is to NOT RUN THE GAME VIA STEAM or set the game setting to the image above.
Q: Do we still have to keep using 640×480 to play this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game?
A: Sadly yes, but if you RUN THE GAME WITHOUT STEAM, you can just set it to whatever you want. A YouTuber goes by the name PB HORROR GAMING, doesn’t experience this, because he either playing it WITH or WITHOUT STEAM. You should check out his video:
Q: I use maphole to avoid this and it makes it boring.
A: Obviously though. Why on bloody hell are you telling me this?
Q: Does using Cheat could be affecting it?
A: Maybe, I’m not sure…but I guess not.
