The true guide that will teach you everything ! [Outdated]

Overview

This is a guide that will teach you all of the game and how it works, hoping that you are forgiving about translation(no useless stories) enjoy yourself !!!By King-Kong (AKA Prokefan)Kisses from France <3 <3 <3

Vanilla or the Base

First Lambda wars, what is it?
It’s just a real-time strategy game (RTS) based on the universe of Half-Life 2 and the source engine of Alien Swarm (itself a modification of “H-L2” ) that should have been called “Half Life 2 wars”
This name sounds strange but it matches the logo of “half-life” which is actually the Greek letter
Lambda λ
In the manner of a “Warcraft II” or “Starcraft” he resumed the rules of the genre:

  • Economic Development
  • Production and improving military
  • Multiplayer and single player missions

Two or more factions clash aimed (depending on the game mode) to conquer the map and destroy other women looting and raping houses with fire, blood, and weapons … (This may be the opposite)

  • Here’s how must (or should) proceed classic game:
  • Your first unit (engineer or stalker) creates buildings to mount an army that will defend your positions and attack the enemy during the final assault (or advanced flags taken).
  • With your Scouts / citizens you will immediately capture the flags neighbors to obtain capture points and go to the scrap-colon to recover resources (Special feature: among the combines is the power generator that occupies this function)
  • You will improve these flags so that you earn a maximum of capture points.
  • From which to attack a flag you will select mass of soldiers, however
  • (If you have (unintentionally) the group stalker engineer or right-click on the group picture to dissociate, to directly give it another double-click on its order image).

But first you fortify your flags improving but installing barricades, turrets and other soldiers to defend because when you lose a flag is that the enemy is stronger than you, then strengthen your army!
(Note that the turrets of the combines are formidable both in defense and attack as for flags jacks)

Major differences between Combines and Rebels:

The rebels have a population limit that will require you to build entire subdivisions near your base. The maximum number of people that you can produce is 100 (RE-CHECK)
On the other hand the combines also have a population limit but it is released via the headquarters in the same way that it reinforces a flag using the flags catch points (1-click) and let us recall some are more effective in performance capture points and more difficult to capture by the enemy by building (better to have 3 flags strengthened as 5 poorly protected).

But back to the limits of our dear combines they expend energy that is generated by a power generator that has a limited field of action and therefore can be a handicap if it is poorly managed.
If you are beginners take the rebels at first so as not to be handicapped;)

Factions

There are two factions to embody:
Rebels
Very versatile, these guys are the citizens of “Half Life” recognizable to the cups (helmets for engineers) and backpack they wear. They evolve through “scrap-point” that can undermine places using “junkyards” and dedicating it engineers
They use the MP7 as a primary weapon.
2 Starting units available:
The engineer who is versatile unit
It can build structures, shoot MP7 and undermine the resources (scrap)
The Scout is a very fast unit equipped with a single machine gun it will be used to capture the flag and recognition due to its stealth ability that allows him to become invisible (caution anyway)

The coalition (“Combination” or “Metrocops)
They are very focused on the attack and the opportunity to grow faster, but it is more expensive and particularly the energy (which does not exist among the rebels)
Start here like 2 units available:
The “Stalker” (Aka engineer) very slow compared to the engineer
Another innocent citizen can not become invisible

Your goal as a rebel or “combines” will of course grow up to be stronger in order to bludgeon your opponent so that he is left with only one standing building (a sadist and pleasurable moment that the players of ” Warcraft “will understand).

The different game mod

In the manner of a Warcraft, the goal is still the same (I know, I raise with Blizzard)
WIN WIN !!!
At present these are the playable modes:

  • Sandbox in general could find the fun (as in “Garry’s Mod”) but here it is serious I do not linger over me … It’s just a way for those who want to familiarize themselves with the various aspects of the game (including the 1st person view) but has no interest to the majority of us because as my dear Rambo (John) is the best training ground .In this mode you can embody the “Antlions” but it remains very light and only for development or experiences.
  • Overrun Your base, “instant-spawn” and unable to build buildings, it remains you to organize your fortifications and raise your army to undergo many waves of zombies, antlions or combines.
  • Annihilation he who does the base of the game capture the maximum of flags to undermine maximum energy, develop your army and advance technologically to better win against the opponent. The classic in some ways.
  • Destroy HQ, there is not much to explain except that the parties are more dynamic because many raids are made on HQ.

Maps:
Environments Lambda Wars are very varied.
For this 15 cards (in the base game / beta) are available.

In the Annihilation:

  • Abandoned: An abandoned coastal town where you can take refuge in various structures possibility to form teams:  2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, 4 vs 4 or FFA (Free For All).
  • Antartica: quite small card that hosts a maximum of two teams of 2 players, card that is in Antarctica hence its name.
  • Aurora: A for same theme map antarctica except it’s on the ice as you fight though the map is larger and can accommodate two teams of 4 players.

  • Washedaway: Card with 4 compartments separated by walls lying opposite each other with the sea east 4 vs 4 maximum.

  • Hot Sand: Four players are in an arid desert in the center of the map
  • Trapped: A military complex in the dark with a few lit areas that will surely inspire the game Alien Swarm
  • Washedaway: Even card in the Annihilation

And Sandbox mode where you can find all the cards including the campaign

Laboratory and Occult

Thank DarkLight and Bro to have greatly inspired me for this part !!!

As in all strategy games in real time there are tips and combines (not to mention cheating software, but you would tell me that he does not exist on LW, unfortunately there are two that I would not cite) I promise not to use them at risk of rotting the game of a community that is struggling to develop).

This type of game requires more reflection, a measure of responsiveness or even reflexes decision making (including the native strategy of managing the resources together, choosing to expand its base, build a new, start mass production of a unit type, direct its economy towards the Development and Research (R & D), the growth or production units.

Lambda-Wars many actions allow you to achieve victory … or not.
Such As:

  • Building a HQ (main production building) (that is available directly in the early game).
  • Resource collection. (Scrap among rebels energy for the combined advantage by simply installing a certainly less efficient but really convenient generator.)
  • Increasing the amount of collectors to speed production. (Assign new engineers to junkyards or additions of new generators)
  • Exploring the map to pinpoint the location of flags, scrap points, strategic locations and positions / progressions opponents.
  • Construction research structures, defense, and production of military units.
  • Start researching and productivity improvements and armaments.
  • Capture and defense of the maximum of flags and secondary resources to maintain an increasing flow of resources. (Points catch and scrap / energy)
  • Capture or destruction of flags and / or opponents of resources to cut their supply or blockade.
  • And finally destruction of military units and production buildings.

But then you tell me that you know because you’ve played at Clash of clans on your mobile, so I’ll tell you a little more in the meanders of the strategy, one that will cause the loss of your enemies:

  • Rush / Blitzkrieg

It is to attack the enemy or to rush to an area of the strategically interesting map as soon as possible by passing the background consolidate its base and its army.
Missed a rush can have fatal consequences for the one who launched because it will be less evolved than his opponent and the resources it has wasted in the production of attack units are all lost resources for the construction of buildings and of more sophisticated units. However, a successful rush greatly disrupts the economy of the opponent, to destroy it completely, which then prevents the defender to build more units and thus seals his defeat. In all cases, a successful rush still slows the opponent, even if he can push it and leaves a time interval the attacker to catch up and exceed the economic level of the defender.

  • The Build-Order

Experienced players strategy games memorize build orders, as it gives them a significant advantage over players who are not familiar with construction orders.

Construction orders involve the production of unlock (via buildings) and units. The loss of a unit or overproduction of another may delay or change the course of a construction order. Construction orders often involve significant synchronization problems. This applies to Lambda Wars. A construction order may involve waiting for a specific time to begin to unlock the next unlock / research technology. If the order of construction is modified in any way, units or structures can not be produced faster. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥ can mean the difference between victory and defeat.

  • Turtle

It is a strategy that focuses on defense with little or no offensive. Ostensibly, it reduces the risk for the player who performs all attempts by opponents to take risks in trying to overcome the defenses. Therefore, it is usually simple enough for novices to learn and effective as such but is easily defeated by experienced players who understand the methods of the game to counter your turtle.

Tactics and Tricks
In the same way that a game that I mentioned earlier (ft warc ** II) tactics can be implemented to:
Take over the adversary
Reverse a situation that seemed lost in advance
Or just win the game
To do a classic part three “guidelines”
The first, which is often the most common, is simply to produce troops from the start to be able to quickly launch a rush on the opponent
(Mass production of second class soldiers)
The second would be closer to the booming with the aim quick takeover of flags on the map to ensure a strong economy and thus an increased production of troops thereafter.
Finally the last method is to build on an advanced military and development upgrades. (Special-ops soldiers, and Antlions striders / hunters)

A strategy of popular schemes aims to capture the flag nearest the enemy HQ to send them a head crab missile that once there contaminate units (more if the enemy is busy elsewhere ( Diversion?) will slowly but surely destroying .To maximize its effect send people over the heads of crabs 🙂 (Patches rendered less effective this tactic but can still be useful)
