How to Disgaea 2 101/Grinding: The Game (the second one) 101 for Disgaea 2 PC

How to Disgaea 2 101/Grinding: The Game (the second one) 101

Overview

You wanna git gud in da grindan game? For those who are new to the series, or want an easy access to useful information, this guide has it all! (any information from here also applies to the psp version of Disgaea 2 to an extent).

Introduction

Warning, this guide contains A LOT of words and a few pictures, but I’ll try my best to make sure there aren’t too many words. If you want to see a specific section of the guide consult the guide index. I play the game using a ps4 controller via DS4, but it shouldn’t be different than playing with a xbox 360 controller. In terms of keyboard and mouse I never really used it but I’ll try my best to accommodate keyboard controls if needed. You should at least get past the tutorial before reading this guide.

Before I start I want to address some things. This is sorta a continuation of my guide for Disgaea PC as there are reoccurring things in Disgaea 2 PC, however this guide is structured so you don’t have to read the previous guide nor play the first game when jumping into this one. Also, if this is of any importance, I was able to beta test Disgaea 2 PC before release (even though I have the game on my psp, psvita and ps3 (through psn), I have more than enough experience to writing this guide).

Unlike my first guide for Disgaea PC, this one will go through nearly all of the important things (at least imo) in Disgaea 2 PC and a such, I’ll try my best to make sure there aren’t any spoilers in terms of the story. That being said however, I am not accountable for anyone accidentally spoiling themselves as I’ll make sure to put spoiler warnings throughout the guide. With that out of the way, on with the guide!

General Questions regarding Disgaea 2 PC

Q: Do I have to play the first game in order to play this one?

A: No, not really. Each game in the series (excluding Disgaea D2) are stand-alone sequals in terms of story. Disgaea 2 PC is essentially the first game but more refined and a few extra mechanics that distinguish it from its predecessor. You may or may not encounter some familiar faces from the first game if you played it in Disgaea 2 PC…

Q: SUB VS DUB, WHICH IS BETTER!?

A: This mostly comes down to preference, but I honestly have no problem with either or. I do have a soft spot for the English dub of Disgaea 2 PC as it was one of my first hands on experience into the Disgaea series on the psp. For sub purist’s out there they shouldn’t have any problem with the voices in this game.

Q: Is this still grind heavy as the previous one, and if so, is it easier or harder?

A: In terms of grinding, it definitely improved it as it doesn’t take AS LONG to grind levels and getting good gear. However, it did introduce the felony system (which will be discussed later on in this guide), but overall its much easier in the long run. In terms of the main story, its not really bad since you have access to really good grinding spots early on, and thief’s in this game make grinding A LOT easier! (which I’ll talk about later on in this guide) In terms of the sidegame/postgame content, there’s A LOT to do, so the grind is really heavy in that regard.

Q: What the hell is the Dark World? Do I have to worry about that when I’m playing the main story?

A: The Dark World is NIS’s answer to people who want a challenge, and you don’t have to worry about it in the main story as you have to go out of your way to unlocking it through questionable ways. Check “The Dark World: PRAISE THE ANGRY AS ♥♥♥♥ SUN GOD!” section for more details.

Q: THIS (insert specific part of the main story here) IS UNWINNABLE FOR ME! HOW DO I GET PAST THIS???

A: Well the funny thing is, there are a few cases when you have to fight an unwinnable battle and losing in order to progress in the main story. You CAN win, but the outcome isn’t as great as you may think it would be.

Q: I’m an achievement hunter and I gotta ask, how hard is it to 100% this game achievement wise?

A: It’s no easy task. You’ll probably rip your hair out by the time you’re done since there’s so much to do in this game.

Q: Are there multiple endings in this game?

A: Why yes, yes there are! And the best part is all of them are tied to achievements this time around 🙂 Unless you want to commit to seeing all of them in-game I suggest checking out the ending section of the guide for more details.

Q: I heard that this game has all the dlc completely free, but all the characters (or at the very least most of them) I don’t even know who or what they are?

A: Since this is the port of the psp version, all the dlc that was once payable is 100% free in the pc version. Most of the characters you encounter are from various NIS games that you probably never played or heared of. Check out the “DLC Character Extravaganza: I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S FREE!” section for more details.

Q: Is Tyrant Overlord Baal back as the final super boss in this game?

A: Baal is back and stronger in this game, but his title of final super boss was taken away from him as this is the port of the psp version. For more details check out the “The TRUE Final Super Boss: Prepare to grind even more edition”

Q: Axel mode? What’s that?

A: Like the first game, Disgaea 2 PC has an extra mode called Axel mode which puts you in the shoes of the Dark Hero himself! For more details check out the “Axel Mode: Dark Hero Days” section for more details.

DLC Character Extravaganza: I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S FREE! (Part one)

Dlc has been a thing in the Disgaea series ever since the 3rd game. Fortunately, NIS has a habit of making all the dlc free whenever they port any of the Disgaea games. Disgaea 2 PC, in this case, has all the dlc that the psp had, but FREE! (Although not EVERY dlc character got in, specifically the sony cats to my knowledge).

Originally you can obtain any dlc character right off the bat when you start the game as long as you beat them. But, they were all Level 100 so the only way for you to get them in the psp version was when you progressed through the story to gain enough stats or just over grind to get them.

Great news! That’s no longer the case, as all the dlc characters level’s scale depending on your progress in the main story! It is good to note that if you’re in Axel Mode, you can’t access these dlc characters until you back in the main story. Also, every time you start a new game + you have to re-unlock them by fighting them again (I don’t think this applies to Pram, Miabell and Majin Hanako since they’ll join after you unlocked the rest of the others… gonna need some verification).

Here are the levels that all dlc characters are at depending on your story progress in “Summoning Experiments” (assuming you don’t pass any stronger enemy bills):

Chapter 1: Level 2
Chapter 2: Level 4
Chapter 3: Level 6
Chapter 4: Level 10
Chapter 5: Level 14
Chapter 6: Level 18
Chapter 7: Level 23
Chapter 8: n/a since you can only go through the coliseum depths and nowhere else.
Chapter 9: Level 34
Chapter 10: Level 40
Chapter 11: Level 50
Chapter 12: Level 65
Chapter 13: Level 80
New game plus/cycle and onward: Level 100

For their special skills and when they learn them, they’ll learn all of their skills before hitting level 100 (I think its until level 50 I’m not sure).

The rest of this section will go into further detail about the lore behind these dlc characters. If you want to know more information about a character continue reading. Otherwise if you don’t give a damn just skip this. For those who want to know lore grab a drink and a pair of reading glasses cause IT’S TIME FOR LORE.

Pleinair: Unlock her by choosing the “Strongest in a Way” stage in Summoning Experiments. Just watch the cutscene and she’ll join your party! Her ability gives her +3 movement if she moves after attacking

The best girl in the series (at least imho) is BACK as a playable character! She is the mascot of Takehito Harada, the art and character designer of the Disgaea series (and many other NIS games). In this game, she helps report the news with her plushy bunny Usagi (which replaces the next-time segments from the previous game, as well as playing at the end of every chapter in both the main story and Axel Mode).

Did you know that in the Disgaea 2 manga, she actually quit her job as the Dark Assembly receptionist and, with the help of the Dark Assembly, got a job as a new’s anchor? Anyways, she also has a really big fan club, and apparently Adell is part of it! Is she waifu material? ABSOLUTELY

Almaz von Almandine Adamant: Unlock him by choosing the “Strongest Swordsman” stage in Summoning Experiments and win. His ability lets him deal more damage with non-elemental skills. If you have Sapphire in your party when you choose his stage, the cutscene changes!

The reason why he gets an actual character bust rather than an avatar is he’s my favorite character from Disgaea 3. Almaz is one of the supporting characters in Disgaea 3, who’s the best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ here you’ll ever see (second to that of the Absolute Victory Unlosing Ranger, but I’m getting ahead of myself). He was originally a gate guard who protected Princess Sapphire (whom he had a crush on), but long story short he got married to her by the end of Disgaea 3, and are busy going on their honeymoon before Hanako summoned him!

The only special skill that was changed for him in this game is P Burgundy. I actually hate this, not because of the actual move (in fact i actually love him using it) but it’s because this was the original move of Walnut from Phantom Brave, Psycho Burgundy. Seeing Almaz using a move that was MENT to be Walnut’s signature move (besides Scarlet the Brave, who was the original user of the move, and was a hero in Ivoire in Phantom Brave) makes me uncomfortable… Is he husbando material? YES YES AND YES

Princess Sapphire Rhodonite: Unlock her by choosing the “Strongest Princess” stage in Summoning experiments and win. Her ability increases the magic range of adjacent allies by +1 panel. If you have Almaz in your party when you choose her stage, the cutscene changes!

Princess Sapphire is a supporting character from Disgaea 3. It’s expected of human princess’s in Disgaea to be kidnapped by the overlord. But unlike other princess’s, who wait for the overlord to kidnap them, Sapphire goes out of her way to find and KILL the overlord before he kidnaps her! Because of this, she refers to herself as a more “Robust” princess (which is actually part of her title in this game!). She also has the inability to cry, even if her loved ones or friends die in front of her. It’s not because she’s emotionless, but because she simply couldn’t cry. By the end of the story in Disgaea 3, she was able to cry tears of joy with the help of Almaz, and eventually married him. They’re now on their honeymoon but she got summoned by Hanako!

Her final special skill got changed in this game so it’s a damaging attack and no longer a worse version of Omega Heal. So get used to using that move, it’ll be gone in the next installment! Is she waifu material? OF COURSE!

Marona: Unlock her by choosing the “Chartreuse Gale” stage in Summoning experiments. Her ability is that her stats increase by 5% every time she magichanges with ally monster units (this means the max possible stat increase she could receive is 45% if using 9 monster units). If you have Ash in your party before choosing her stage, the cutscene changes!

Sweet innocent girl Marona. She’s the main character of Phantom Brave, a girl who had inherited her parent’s ability to talk to ghosts. She can also summon ghosts to aid her in battle through “confining” them into objects, so they can take on a physical form (which you can’t do in this game btw). She lost her parents at a very early age, but before they died, they helped Ash (a long time friend of Marona’s parents) watch over Marona by turning him into a ghost. Her standard attack phrase is “Miracle of Light! Chartreuse Gale!” Marona is also voiced by Sandy Fox, who also voices Flonne, in the english dub!

She also isn’t a picky eater, even going as far as eating sardines WHOLE! (a certain vampire would be proud, but that’s not until the 4th game). She also makes an appearance in Disgaea 3, where her innocent heart was stolen from a legendary overlord. Just imagine a 10 year old with a a sailor mouth and that’s pretty much Marona in the 3rd game. Just kidding, she just says things like “NOODLE OMELET!”, and “IMMA DO IT!”, so it isn’t that bad outside of acting like a ♥♥♥♥♥ towards other.

Is she waifu material? THE ♥♥♥♥ IS WRONG WITH YOU SHE’S UNDERAGED

DLC Character Extravaganza: I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S FREE! (Part 2)

This is a continuation of “DLC Character Extravaganza: I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S FREE!” The only reason being I actually hit the limit for space on it… Anyways just skip this section if you don’t want to know about LORE.

Ash (no not THAT famous Ash): Unlock him by choosing the “Life of Confinement” stage in Summoning experiments and win. His ability doubles his attack stat if it is the last turn of Magichange for him (i.e. if the magichange weapon he has says one turn left, his attack stat doubles until the end of the turn). If you have Marona in your party before choosing his stage, the cutscene changes!

The main character of Phantom Brave. Ash used to be human but after he died, and with the help of Marona’s parents, he was turned into a phantom. He now lives with Marona, watching over her in place of her parents. His battle cry is “You go no further. For her sake, I will not fail!”. Protecting Marona is his number 1 priority, as it is the least he could do for her parents. And before you ask, NO, HE’S NOT LIKE THAT TOWARDS MARONA, HE JUST WANTS TO PROTECT HER. He also has water dragon powers, which are really really cool, but its not what you think (meaning he isn’t an actual water dragon nor can he turn into one).

In order for him to interact with other people, Ash has to confine into an object, and take on a physical form. Despite being confined into a plunger in this game, he retains his original appearance, its just that he smells bad. Funny enough in the 4th game, he confines himself into a sardine, which made a certain vampire very happy. Is he husbando material? YEA, if you like ghosts that is

Gig: Unlock him by choosing “The Strongest Guy” stage in Summoning experiments and win. His ability adds 2 more turns when he magichanges with someone (meaning instead of the usual 2 turns its 4 turns).

Gig is the main(?) character from Soul Nomand and the World Eaters. He also has quite the sailor mouth and loves eating Hot Pods. He used to bring the destruction of the world with the power of the three world eaters Feinne, Thuris, and Raksha. He likes using Feinne the most out of the three. At a certain point however, he was sealed inside the Onyx blade (which he actually magichanges into!), and the world eaters were cast into an eternal slumber. That is, until they reawake, and with the help of the other main character Revya, they set on a journey to save the world. Normally I would go into further detail but the thing is, Gig is a REALLY complex character so if you want to know more about him I suggest either looking up or playing Soul Nomad and the World Eaters. Is h- don’t ask. Just. Don’t.

Dark Eclair: Unlock her by choosing the “Another Princess” stage in Summoning experiments and win. Her ability lets her apply a star element on any special skill she uses (including both unique and weapon mastery skills).

Dark Eclair is a supporting character from La Pucelle: Tatics, which is considered to be the grandfather of the Disgaea series. The reason why she’s called Dark Eclair is because she’s the dark part that lives inside Princess Eclair’s soul. In La Pucelle, Princess Eclair was unable to handle the responsibility and expectations of being queen, hence Dark Eclair was born. In the end, she was able to reconcile with herself and accepted her dark part. In this game however, Dark Eclair is playable due to Hanako’s experiment.

There’s nothing more to say really, other than that she’s a close friend of Overlord Priere back when she was human. Is she waifu material? Probably I dunno.

Pram: Unlock her by choosing the “Fierce Overlord” stage in Summoning experiments and win. Her ability allows her to increase her intelligence stat by +5% every time she receives magic damage from either ally’s or enemies.

Pram is an Overlord from Makai Kingdom. She’s the character who shows up every time you cast Omega Ice in game! That’s pretty cool (no pun intended). She’s also a well known oracle who’s able to make accurate predictions.

She’s responsible for predicting the downfall of Overlord Zetta and his Netherworld at the start of Makai Kingdom, and teases him throughout the game. She also has a habit of messing with other people, calling them her new “play things”. Also SPOILER ALERT SHES A BIG FAT PHONY because she uses the sacred tome to make all of her predictions and heavily relies on it She’s also an overlord prodigy, but it seems nobody in this game respects her… Is she waifu material? Yeah, if you like ice ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Miabell: Unlock her by choosing the “Anriphonia” stage in Summoning experiments. Her ability increases all ally’s stats on the map by 5%, this also applies herself. Just watch the cutscene and she joins your party!

This is probably the only character that I legitimately don’t even know that is from an NIS game. The only thing I can say about her is that she comes from a game which is a spiritual successor to Marl Kingdom, otherwise more popularly known as Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. Since her game never came to the west it’s no wonder that I don’t know her!

Majin Hanako/Demon Lord Hanako: Unlock her by choosing the “Sexiest of All Time” stage in Summoning experiments and win. It’s preferred to do this stage last in Summoning experiments otherwise the cutscenes will look awkward. Still, there’s nothing stopping you from doing it first! Her ability is the same as Rozalin’s, which increases the stats of adjacent male ally units by 20%.

It’s Hanako from 10 years into the future! Her ambitions of becoming a Demon Lord have come true apparently… She’s no longer a monster-type unit and can use actual weapons! There really isn’t that much to say about her, since this is the only game she’s in Demon Lord/Majin form. But an interesting bit of trivia is that she was only available to people who bought every other dlc in the psp version. Is she waifu material? Since Demon Lord/Majin Hanako isn’t underaged, I can probably say that she is!

Diagonal Throwing

Just like in the first game, you can throw characters diagonally by using the control stick/d-pad/wasd keys. The pc version is kind enough to set a hotkey for lifting characters to 3, in case you’re wondering.
Here’s a video demonstration of how to preform a diagonal throw:
[link]
You need to practice doing diagonal throwing as it’ll make things a lot easier for you when going through the item world, as well as clearing stages.

Special Abilities/Evility Predecessor

Introduced into the 2nd game and for the rest of the series moving forward are special abilities. Every character in the game has a unique ability, while some of them are pretty lame, others are amazing. For example, Adell’s ability makes him do more damage against enemies that are higher level (Which is really helpful for people who don’t really grind). There are a lot of ways you can take advantage of abilities in battle if you have the characters that have them. However, since this is the first game to introduce abilities, some of them are lackluster (some of them act like pokemon abilities like Blaze and Torrent, which increases a certain kind of attack when having low hp).

I won’t list all of them since some belong to characters that are spoilers so I’ll just list most of the unique characters you get along the way, as well as most of the generic characters you can create.

Unique Characters:

Adell: does 25% more damage towards enemies of higher level
Rozalin: increases the stats of an adjacent male ally by 20% (is stackable with Red Tink’s ability)
Tink (He’s a special case, since he has a different ability depending on what forme he takes via Kiro Change): Blue Tink gives +2 movement at all times and Red Tink gives 20% increase in stats per adjacent female ally next to him.
Taro: When hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp), his Def and Res stat increase by 20%
Hanako: Takes 50% less damage from monster-type units
Yukimaru: Has a 20% chance to inflict the Amnesia status (which means the target can’t use any special skills) with normal attacks
Etna: increases adjacent ally prinny stats by 50%

Generic Humanoid Characters:

Male figher: increases critical hit damage by 50% when hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp)
Female Fighter: increases critical hit chance by 50% when hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp)
Mage: decreases sp used when using spells by 25%
Skull: increases skill experience by +5 (this means he doesn’t learn magic spells earlier)
Healer: decrease elemental damage taken by 50% (e.g. fire, star)
Thief: increases the chance of stealing items (compared to other characters, she’s the best class to steal in the game)
Sinner: increase counter attack damage by 50% when hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp)
Beastmaster: increases the stats of adjacent ally monster-type units by 20% (is stackable with Red Tink’s ability)
Geomancer: takes no damage from geo panel explosions
Heavy Knight: increases Def by 50% when hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp)
Magic Knight: increases elemental damage by 25%
Archer: increases their range with bows by +1
Gunner: increases damage by 20% in combo attacks (e.g. having more than 1 character attacking the same target triggers a combo)
Ninja: when hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp), increase envasion rate.
Kunoichi/Female Ninja: when hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp), have a 50% chance to attack twice (i.e. normal attacks and special skills)
Samurai: when hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp), chance to deathblow target with a normal attack by 20%
Lady Samurai/Female Samurai: increases damage towards single-target enemies by 30% (i.e. attack only one enemy with a normal attack or special attack)
Majin: increase stats by 100% if it’s the only unit left with 9 dead ally’s in the battle (basically a last stand kind of ability)

Generic Monster Characters:

Prinny: explodes when thrown (no ♥♥♥♥)
Orc: increases attack damage by 25% when hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp)
Winged Warrior/Mothman: increases movement by +1 when hp is critical (below or equal to 25% hp)
Spirit/Ghost: Regenerates 10% of max sp per turn
Marionette/Puppet: immune to any status ailments (i.e. amnesia, poision, sleep weakened, basically all of them indefinitely)
Undead/Zombie: if it kills an enemy, restores all of its hp and sp
Flora Beast/Plant Lady(?): decreases damage taken by magical/int-based attacks by 50%.
Roc/Cocatrice: decreases adjacent enemy stats by 20% (this does stack if you’re wondering)
Felynn/Nekomata: increase counter attack damage by 50%
Succubus: increases damage towards humanoid male enemies by 25%
Aqua Demon/Slug: immune to any attack that deals ice elemental damage
Mythical Beast/Cu Sith/Pupper: immune to any attack that deals wind elemental damage
Dragon/Dargen: immune to any attack that deals fire elemental damage
Holy Dragon: immune to any non-elemental skill attacks (normal attacks work fine if you’re wondering)
Dragon Zombie/Skeleton Dragon/Skreleton Dargen: decrease any physical damage it takes by 50% (i.e. from normal and skills from fist, sword, bow, gun, and axe’s)
Wood Golem: restores 20% of its max health per turn
Rifle Demon/Baciel: attacks will hit 100% (doesn’t mean that it will gurantee damage)

Only check if you’ve completed Axel Mode:

Deathsaber: increases damage of normal and special skills by 10% per panel moved
Entei/Great Wyrm/Ifrit: increases stats by roughly 15% per unit of the same species present on the stage
Celestial Host: decrease elemental damage towards adjacent ally’s by 20%

Only check if you’re in the Postgame:

Mass produced Kurtis: If unit does not move, it can attack again (only applies to normal attacks)

Weapon Mastery and Aptitudes

Weapon Mastery is back from the first game and hasn’t been changed. Everytime you have a humanoid unit use a weapon they’ll gain a bit of weapon mastery.
The unit will be able to learn weapon specific skills as their weapon mastery for that weapon increases as well, up to a total of 7 skils for every weapon ecluding staffs and 6 tiers of elemental spells depending on the elemental type of the Mage/Skull class:

Weapon mastery level requirements for new skills (excluding staffs):
1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, 31

Level a mage/skull needs to achieve in order to learn new tiers of elemental spells:
1 (regular), 10(mega), 25(giga), 50(omega), *80/100(tera), **160/200(peta).

*80 for fire, wind and ice element only red, green an blue tiered mages/skulls can learn. 100 for star element only star tiered mages/skulls can learn.
**160 for fire, wind and ice element for red, green and blue tiered mages/skulls only. 200 for star element for star tiered mages/skulls only.

This means that mages/skulls that are prism and galaxy tiered can’t learn tera or peta spells. The only way for other characters to learn tiers of elemental spells is by going through the master/apprentice relationship, which this guide will go into further detail in the “Extra Gains” section of the guide.

The Weapon Mastery system also makes it possible for charcters to learn any kind of weapon skill, regardless of what class/”profession” they have.
e.g. A mage can be a gun wielder, a gunner can be a swordsman and an archer can use spears. As well, main characters like Adell and Rozalin can use other kinds of weapons (I personally have Rozalin as a spell caster, giving her some elemental spells through extra gains). The possibilities are endless!

Note that while you can have any humanoid character use any weapon, depending on their weapon mastery grade, they’ll either learn weapon skills much quicker or slower. e.g. Rozalin has a weapon mastery grade of A for guns compared to her weapon mastery grade of B for staves. She’ll earn more weapon mastery through guns than through staves, but you can still let her use staves!

Monster-type units don’t have any weapon mastery and can only equip one of two different kinds of monster weapons:

Red monster weapons that increase the attack and hit stat when equipped
Blue monster weapons that increase the attack and intelligence stat when equipped.

While this game first introduces blue monster weapons it isn’t great when compared to all the benefits that humanoid units can get through weapon mastery..

Weapon Mastery: Advanced

Weapon Mastery also gives the weapon an additional 5% stat increase per weapon mastery level the unit has. The max weapon mastery level you can achieve is 255, meaning you get an extra 1125% increase in weapon stats on your weapon, on top of the increase you can get if you have beneficial aptitudes.

This is ESSENTIAL when entering the sidegame/postgame as it lets you get the stats you need when dealing with the final super boss!

Aptitudes:

Aptitudes are also a factor since you can get extra stats if you have a beneficial aptitude or less stats if you have a hindering aptitude.
e.g. Adell has an attack aptitude of 120% meaning he gains an extra 20% in attack whenever he equips an item that gives him attack. Rozalin on the other hand as an attack aptitude of 80%, meaning she’ll only gain 80% of the attack stat.
Aptitudes can also gauge what weapon a humanoid unit is good with so work around using weapons that units can take advantage using beneficial aptitudes!

Weapon Mastery: Staves

Staves are a unique case since they don’t teach the unit new spells when increasing its weapon mastery, instead it gives staff users a lot of nifty things:

1) per weapon mastery level gained in staffs, spells do 3% more damage when a staff is equipped to a maximum of 200% extra damage.

2) per weapon mastery level gained in staffs, the spell range increases to a maximum of +4 after acquiring more than 16 weapon mastery levels in staffs.

**Keep in mind, that the staff user also gains the extra 5% percent increase in weapon stats per weapon mastery level. In the long run, Staff users are the strongest damage dealers when diving into the sidegame/postgame.**

Extra Gains/abusing the apprentice relationship

Extra gains allows any character in the game to learn spells that they would otherwise wouldn’t have been able to (the only spells that can’t be learnt by other characters are the exclusive spells from the Magic Knight, Kunoichi, Thief, Geomancer and Beastmaster class. Basically any normal elemental, buff and debuff, and healing spell that can be learnt by a skull, mage and healer).

Follow these simple steps and you can teach your character some helpful spells in no time! (I’ll put a small example next to each step for further assistance):

1) Select a character you want to learn spells (E.g. teaching Rozalin an elemental spell)

2) Make that character create a mage/skull or healer depending on what kind of skill you want them to learn (e.g. let Rozalin make a red mage so she can learn fire skills)

3) once you’re finished creating your character’s apprentice, go to any stage you want (personally I go with the first stage in the game)

4) In battle, make your character be adjacent to your character’s apprentice (e.g. let rozalin stand next to the red mage)

5) As long as your character stands adjacent to their apprentice, they can use any of the apprentices learnt skills! (e.g. Rozalin can learn the 1st tier fire spell immediately from their red mage. If the red mage’s level is higher, Rozalin can use more spells like mega fire and armor break if she’s adjacent to her apprentice)

6) Let your character use the spell you want them to learn until that spell’s skill level is level 1 (e.g. Rozalin stands next to her red mage and casts fire until it’s skill level is level 1)

7) Congratulations! Your character can now cast that spell indefinitely without standing adjacent to their apprentice! (e.g. Rozalin can now cast fire without being next to her red mage.)

Keep in mind, that there’s no limit to how many apprentices you can have on one character! So it is possible to have a mage that can both deal damage and heal (among other things)!

Dark Assembly: persuade by force is always a valid option

Just like in the first game, the Dark Assembly is where you can pass bills to make the game easier on you. Whether it be to get better equipment from the store, to increasing the strength of enemies, you’ll have to use the Dark Assembly in order to get the most that Disgaea 2 PC has to offer. Unlike it’s predecessor, the Dark Assembly has improved a lot for the better. There are no longer any promotional exams for characters to take in order to unlock bills, as long as you have enough mana (and depending on what conditions you’ve met), you are open to any bill possible in the game.

Unlike actual politics, you can BRIBE the senate with items if you want a higher chance of them approving your bill. If they deny your bill you can either give up like a pansy, or beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of them through persuasion by force 🙂 Note that you need to have units that are actually strong if you want a chance to kill the senators, so unless you have high stat’s that can take them on, I suggest being a pansy…

OR, you can also cheat the senate through save scumming. Just save before you want to pass a bill. If the senate denies it, just reload your save and try again. For some bills, they will always have a very low percentage of getting approved, which means you’ll have to persuade by force eventually, just not until you have the stats in the postgame….

The psp version and, therefore, the pc version of Disgaea 2 included 2 new bills that’ll make level grinding a lot easier. Unlike the first game, you no longer have to spend time passing stronger enemy bills/weaker enemy bills countless of time. Instead, you can simply pass a “even stronger/weaker enemy bill” (which is equivalent to passing 5 stronger or weaker enemy bills) and a “strongest/weakest enemy bill” (which is equivalent to passing 20 stronger/weaker enemy bills), which saves a lot of time.

*note that weaker enemy bills are only available if you passed any stronger enemy bill, so don’t think you can make the enemies super easy.*

As well, you can finally become a senator yourself! Once you’ve passed the “become a senator” bill, which only Adell can access, you can be part of the dark senate and agree to pass or deny other bills. If you decide to persuade by force as a senator, you will only have Adell to work with, so be careful!

There are some optional bills you can choose as a senator that will result in a game over if they’re passed, so make sure you don’t let that happen! If you decide to “raise your voice”, you’ll be able to receive more bribes from the character who requests bills. You don’t really get a lot of good stuff, but it’s fun to take bribes and deny their bills 🙂

*This is extremely crucial in the sidegame/postgame, so keep this in the back of your mind until you finished the main story.*

Unlocking Generic Units

Just like in the first game, Digaea 2 PC has a lot of generic humanoid characters that can be unlocked in the dark assembly if you meet certain requirements. The only chance here is they’re no longer unlocked immediately meaning you’ll have to pass their individual bills to unlock them.

**once you unlocked a generic class, you have them for good!**

For monster units, good news! you just have to kill at least the first tier of its species in battle and you’ll be able to create them in the Dark Assembly. To unlock future tiers just level up the monster until its next tier opens, and level that next tier until the next one opens etc. This also applies to generic humanoid units if you want to unlock their later tiers too.

Here are the requirements to unlock specific generic units:

Beastmaster: capture a monster by throwing it into the base panel (note, you need to make sure that the monster can be created in the Dark Assembly AND Adell being a higher or equal level) and passing the “Make a Beast Tamer” bill in the Dark Assembly.
Geomancer: create a geo combo of 500+ (you’ll be able to get this done super easy if you progress in the main story) and pass the “Make a Strange Old Man” bill in the Dark Assembly.
Heavy Knight: have a character with spear mastery level of 3 and pass the “Make a Tough Guy” bill.
Sinner: have a character with at least one felony and pass the “Make a Bad Guy” bill.
Gunner: have a charcter with a gun mastery level of 5 and pass the “Make a Sunset Kind of Guy” bill.
Ninja: have a character with a fist and a character with a sword mastery level of 5 (it could be the same or different characters, as long as units with a mastery level of 5 in fists and swords) and pass the “Make a Ninja” bill.
Kunoichi/Female Ninja: have a character with a fist and a character with a staff mastery of 5 (the same as the ninja, but instead of a mastery in swords its staffs) and pass the “Make a Kunoichi” bill.
Male Samurai: have a character with a sword mastery level of 5 and pass the “Make an Eastern Swordsman” bill.
Magic Knight: have a character with a sword and staff mastery level of 3 (similar to unlocking the Ninja and Kunoichi classes above) and pass the “Make a Busty Beauty” bill.
Archer: have a character with a bow mastery level of 5 and pass the “Make a Lovely Hunter” bill.
Majin: beat the final boss of the main story and start a new cycle, then pass the “Make the Ultimate Warrior” bill.
Female Samurai: it’s unlocked from the start!

The following creatable units are locked behind the sidegame/postgame content, so to prevent spoilers I hid them. For those who are in Axel Mode or are in the postgame, feel free to check here! For anyone else. If you want to look go on ahead, but I’m not accountable for spoiling you:

Deathsaber: Recruit Evil Ranger Pink in Axel Mode.
Entei/Great Wyrm/Ifrit: Recruit Actress in Axel Mode.
Celestial Hostess: Recruit Main Hero B. in Axel Mode.
Mass Produced Kurtis: Finish the 2nd Kurtis special Stage.

Reincarnation

Reincarnation is a way of making your units stronger. You don’t have to worry about it during the main story but it will be really helpful in the sidegame/postgame so take some notes!

Here are the benefits of Reincarnation:

1) You can put special bonus points into your unit’s stats, the amount of bonus points you can allocate depends on what quality you decide to reincarnate your character into. It ranges from Good-for-nothing (which you have to take away stat points) to Genius, so always make sure to reincarnate into genius if you want more bonus points to distribute!

2) Everytime you reincarnate, you keep a stored level. The higher the stored level you have, the extra bonus points you earn. So always try to reincarnate from the highest level possible! (the max being level 9999)

3) If you reincarnate into the same tier of the same class 10 times in a row (for unique characters like Adell you just have to reincarnate 10 times in a row), you get an extra 10 bonus points to use!

Now here are the downsides of reincarnation:

1) Everytime you reincarnate you lose some weapon mastery (if it’s a humanoid unit) and have the unit start over from level 1

2) The character also loses skill experience on all of their skills. If a skill loses too much experience, the character will forget the skill entirely (i.e. if you reincarnate a character with mega fire having a skill level of 1, they will forget it after they reincarnate). This includes skills learnt from weapon mastery and from Extra Gains. I suggest making sure the skill level is at least level 3+ before reincarnating (that is assuming you reincarnate that unit in geinus quality).

3) Reincarnating from the max level is a really long and tedious process, as the maximum amount of required stored levels is 186,000. That’s roughly 19 reincarnations assuming you always reincarnate from level 9999 in genius quality.

Fortunatly you just need to get 186,000 stored levels and 200 (210 if you reincarnate 10 times in a row).
And to put your mind in ease, you don’t have to really get the maxed stored level in order to face the true final super boss (it will make the fight a lot easier though), but you still need to reincarnate 😛

Item World: The Basics

The item world returns and has since then went over a huge improvement since the first game! For those who are new, the Item World is essentially a randomly generated dungeon that you can access within your very own items! From swords to chewing gum, every possible item has an item world inside of it! This part will only go over the basics of the Item World so if you want to know more detail check out the “Item World: Perfecting an Item” section in the guide. Just like the first game, you get access to the Item World as early as the first episode/chapter!, so get ready to know the basics cause you’ll need it!

The stage, enemies, and geo effects always change as you go through the Item World, so always be cautious of the geo effects at all times!
Every item (excluding some special ones, which are listed in the “Special Items Galore” section of this guide) comes in three different ranks, and depending on their ranks you can delve deeper into that item!
*Common Quality: 30 floors, Rare Quality = 60 floors, and Legendary Quality = 100 floors.*

The purpose of the item world is to make your item stronger (and is the only way to obtain some of the strongest items in the game!) by:

1) Going down the floors of the item world, the more floors you go down, the more levels the item receives! You go down a floor by either:
a) defeating all of the enemies on the floor
b) going through the item gate, which lets you go to the next floor (this one is the more popular choice in most cases)

2) Killing special Item residents called Item Generals (that appear on every 10th, 20th, 40th, 50th, 70th, and 80th floor), Item Kings (that appear on every 30th, 60th and 90th floor) and the Item God/Item God 2 (that only appears on the 100th floor, an Item God 2 only shows up on a Rank 40 item which will go into further detail in the “Item World: Perfecting an Item” section of this guide)

3) Going through mystery gates and encountering a fortune teller or an ambush room (which will go into detail later in this section and into further detail in the “Item World: Perfecting an Item” section).

4) Level Spheres that rarely spawn.

This games version of the Item World is DRASTICALLY better than its predecessor’s as the rng in the Item World is refined so you can actually complete floors! As well, the item gate is no longer affected by geo effects, so no more item gate keepers being a pain to deal with!

The only way to exit the item world is one of 2 ways:

1) When you clear the floor (or enter the item gate) the item general or king is on, you have a chance to enter a innocent town and can leave by talking to the item world guide (some cases the game will tell you if you want to continue or exit the item world with no chance of entering the innocent town).

2) use a special item called Mr. Gency’s Exit.

If you use the Mr. Gency’s Exist, you leave the item world from the floor you left from and can continue from there when you re-enter it (i.e. using a mr. gency exit on floor 3 to escape, when you re-enter that item you start off on floor 3).

There’s no penalty for using a Mr. Gency Exit, so always bring one with you if you’re uncertain about your item world run.

**Later on in the “Item World: Perfecting and Item” section, Mr. Gency’s Exits play a really important role when preparing for the sidegame/postgame.**

Innocent Towns

A new feature added in the 2nd game is Innocent towns! You only have a chance to enter one after clearing every 10th floor in the item world. It’s a place that you can use to heal up your party, among other things.
Also, there’s a chance that a Dark Assembly Chicken can show up! This guy is important if you want to improve your item even more. Just like the normal Dark Assembly, you can propose bills, but these bills are related to the item you’re currently in! There are various item related bills you can pass, from increasing attack growth to changing a name of the item (which for the latter is 100% free!) that will make the item even better than it was before.

An important thing to note is the Dark Assembly Chicken is stingy, meaning you only have one chance to talk to him and propose a bill (e.g. if you talk to him but accidentally exit the dark assembly, you can’t propose a bill!). Another thing to note is the number of times the Dark Assembly Chicken shows up depends on the quality of the item:

Common = 1
Rare = 2
Legendary = 3

This plays a big role later on in the “Item World: Perfecting and Item” section of the guide so you don’t have to worry about this during the main story.

Mystery Gates

A new feature introduced into the Item World that later installments have are mystery gates. Mystery gates are guaranteed to spawn every 3 floors in the Item World, with an exception being every 10th floor where an Item General, King or Item God reside. It’s called a mystery gate because every time you enter it, you’ll enter a random room in the Item World.

Here is a list of some possible mystery rooms you can encounter whenever you enter a mystery gate:

Hospital NPC Flora Beast: can heal your units

Music Store NPC Succubus : the ony way to purchase new in-game bgms and songs you’ve listened to at least once in-game

*Fortune Teller NPC Geomancer : You have a chance to increase the item’s level by +3 or +10, or decrease it’s levels by -3. If you talk to him too many times after he told your fortune he’ll be mad and attack you! But if you manage to beat him, you get +3 item levels, regardless of whether it was a good fortune or not

*Ambush Room : You’ll be surrounded by a 7 monster-type demons of the same species that are randomized. talk to one of them and they’ll all attack you! If you kill all of them, your item’s level will increase by +3. If you don’t kill all of them after the end of the 2nd turn, they’ll spare you and you’ll leave the room without any levels

Cellphone Store NPC Prinny: Sells random cellphones, but only on the first time you interact with him. If you try to talk to the npc again you won’t be able to buy anymore phones!

Painter NPC Holy Dragon: He’ll give you the option to change the palette of one generic creatable character for free, after you encounter him for the first time, you can gain access to the “Base Map Workshop” that once passed, you can change generic character unit’s palettes with HL.

There are many more you can encounter, so keep going through those mystery gates!

Level Spheres

Level Spheres are special in that they rarely spawn on floors 20+, if you see one, you need to lift the sphere with a character and complete the floor by either killing all the enemies or going through the item gate. If you do, your item gains +5 item levels! IMPORTANT: you don’t gain any levels from the sphere if you go through a mystery gate!

These play an important role when it comes to perfecting an item, so keep these in mind!

Item World: Innocents and what they do!

You probably saw angry faces on your items that you have no idea what they mean. Those are called Item Innocents, residents that give beneficial stats towards items depending on the kind of innocent. There are two kinds of innocents you can have on your item; unsubdued (aka the red angry faces) and the subdued (yellow, smily faces).

The difference between a subdued and unsubdued innocent are as follows:

1) A subdued innocent can be transfered to other items, an unsubdued one is locked onto the item until subdued.
2) A subdued innoncent is double the value of when it was unsubdued (e.g. a unsubdued gladiator of 14 has a value of 28 when subdued)

You can also combine innocents of the same kind to increase the value they have even more.
Below is the list of every innocent and their benefits they give when they’re in an item:

Item World: The Lover Innocent

Disgaea 2 PC as a unique innocent that is called a lover. A lover is special since the only way to spawn one is for having characters having the same items equipped for long periods of time. There are a lot of benefits to having a lover innocent as they’re special to both unique and generic characters. The following are benefits for having a lover innocent:

1) it increases the stats of the character or class by 1% per specific lover.
2) it also increases the effectiveness of abilities depending on the character or class.

The lover innocent’s value caps at 25, meaning at most it will give the character a 25% increase in stats, as well as increasing their ability’s power depending on the character or class.

Now the way to spawn a lover isn’t actually difficult, its just time consuming.
Follow these steps and you’ll have your own lover innocent in no time:

1) Choose a character or class you want to have a lover innocent (for class lovers, you can create more than one to increase the chance of spawning one. i.e. if you want to get a mage lover, create 3 mages)

*2) Make the character or class equip pieces of gear that aren’t trash (to make sure you’re not wasting time, equip items that cost more than 1800 Hl).

3) Select a stage you can clear really fast (the fastest one to clear is refletion pond, just throw a prinny and it will be done quick)

**4) Replay that stage 35+ times and make sure your character is on the stage when it clears as it ncreases the chance of a lover spawning (basically your character has to be outside of the base panel).

5) Once a lover spawns, go into the item world of that item and subdue it (for generic classes, the lover will be as strong as the enemies inside the item world it’s in). For unique characters, like Adell, the Lover will be a clone of your character, copying their stats and equipment (and no, you can’t steal the equipment). In this case, make sure your unique character has no items on before entering the item world the lover is in, this will make subduing the lover easier.

6) continue steps 2-5 until you have a lover with a value of 25 for your character.

*Depending on the quality of the item, the value the lover spawns with increases.
Common = 1, Rare = 2, and Legendary = 3.
If you have a character equip 4 pieces of legendary gear that isn’t rank 5 or below than you’re guaranteed a lover with a value of 24 once you subdued and combined all of them.

**35 battles is the minimum it takes for a lover to spawn, if it doesn’t spawn immediately don’t worry. In some cases, it might take more than 100 battles for it to spawn, so be really patient!

IMPORTANT: don’t unequip the gear you want a lover to spawn on your character, otherwise the battle requirement will reset and you’ll have to start over.
It’s also worth pointing out that a lover can spawn even in items with all the floors cleared! This means that the lover will be wasting space for other innocents.

Below are extra effects that lovers can give depending on the character or class:

Unique Characters

Adell: +1% damage to enemies of a higher level per lover

Entei/Great Wyrm/Ifrit: increases stats by +1% if there are units of the same species present on the stage per 5 lovers
Celestial Host: decrease elemental damage towards adjacent ally’s by +1% per lover

Only check if you’re in the Postgame:

mass produced kurtis: +1.5% stat increase instead of 1% per lover

I suggest not worrying about lovers until the sidegame/postgame (unless you want to prepare for it earlier, in that case there’s nothing stopping you from doing so!) since its a long and tedious process.

The Land of Carnage: Prepare to die… dood.

Introduced in Disgaea 2 PC and for the rest of the series moving forward is a special place called the Land of Carnage! This is the place where the TRUE hardcore experience begins, as it is essential for completing the postgame content that Disgaea 2 PC has to offer. Additionally, the Land of Carnage is where you face the TRUE Final Super Boss in the game, so you know it’s really important if you want to finish the game!

The Land of Carnage is just a different hub world where you can access any normal and Dark World stage you unlocked in the main story, as well as the Item World.

The main differences in the Land of Carnage are:

1) The enemies you fight while in the Land of Carnage have their levels increased by 2000%, with an extra 200 levels added on top of that. This also applies to any unit, including Geo Symbols and Boss’s.

2) Along with the level boost, their stats are doubled.

3) The Item World in the Land of Carnage is the only place to get the best gear in the game that otherwise would be impossible to get.

4) Certain characters can only be used in the Land of Carnage depending on how far you get into the main story. Those being Prinny Kurtis (during anytime in the main story), Fubuki (after finishing 13-3) and Axel (after finishing 13-3)

Without it, it will be impossible to get the best weapons, stats and grinding possible for preparation against the TRUE Final Super Boss (which will be discussed in a later section in the guide). You don’t have to worry about that until the time comes, so now here’s how you unlock the Land of Carnage!

Unlocking the Land of Carnage

A few things to note about unlocking the Land of Carnage:

1) It can be unlocked at any point in the main story and Axel Mode

2) You need to have all 16 treasure maps in order to unlock the ship that lets you travel to the Land of Carnage.

3) The treasure maps are held by 16 different types of pirates in the Item World

You probably already encountered your first Pirate accidentally before reading this, but they’re special enemy units that only appear in the Item World.

You can obtain a treasure map by:

1) Defeating the Pirate Captain (you don’t have to defeat the entire crew, just the captain)

2) Steal the map from the Pirate Captain with a hand item that can be bought from the general store, aka the red mage npc in town. (if you don’t want to fight them that is).

The only way to actually encounter a Pirate is by waiting at least one full turn or more on any floor in any item in the item world. Some types of Pirates only show up on later floors so going into a legendary quality item ensures you can encounter all pirate types (except 2, but they’re not important for unlocking the Land of Carnage).

The Pirate’s level depends on the item and how many floors you’ve cleared. If you want a really easy time dealing with Item Pirates I suggest getting a legendary quality item that’s really ♥♥♥♥. Some examples being a legendary worn gloves, abc gum and brawny muscle. The process of doing this is TERRIBLE as you’re not always guaranteed to encounter a Pirate after one turn, let alone the type of Pirate you want.

If you want to save time I suggest saving before entering the item world on the specific floor and wait a turn. If the Pirate doesn’t show up or the type of Pirate that shows up isn’t the one you’re looking for just quit, reload the save and repeat until you get one that’s holding a treasure map.

Keep in mind, the process of getting all of the maps takes an absurd amount of time due to the rng, some people got all treasure maps after 10+ hours! The pay off is definitely worth it but you’ll feel like punching someone by the end of it. You can increase your odds of finding pirates by equipping treasure maps onto characters (they don’t have to participate in battle!) as well, but since the odds are still ridiculously low I find it as more of a placebo if anything. Still, it doesn’t hurt to do it since there’s no down sides.

To help you not pulling your hair out I’ve listed all the kinds of pirates that appear below:

Floor 1+

Orc (more likely to appear in weight items)
Prinny (more likely to appear in Gun weapons)
Ambling (I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate this pirate with a passion)
Bashful
Chicken
Dancing (more likely to appear in Bow weapons)

Floor 21+

Monk (more likely to appear in Staff weapons)
Hunter (more likely to appear in Armor items)
Gate (more likely to appear in Spear weapons)
Wealthy (more likely to appear in legendary quality items)
*Animal (more likely to appear in Monster weapons)
Jolly (more likely to appear in Muscle items)

Floor 41+

Ninja (more likely to appear in Fist weapons)
Prism (more likely to appear in Sword weapons)
Red

Floor 61+

Z Pirate (its a dbz reference if you’re wondering, he even rides on a nimbus cloud…)

*Animal Pirates are special because they also carry a Magichange scroll on them, which will be essential when dealing with the TRUE Final Super Boss later on so keep this in mind.

Good news is as long as you have all 16 treasure maps, you can go to the Land of Carnage indefinitely regardless of how many new game+’s/cycles you do (just put them in the warehouse when you’re done unlocking it).

Felonies: A Love-Hate Relationship and how to be a real criminal!

Exclusive to Disgaea 2 PC is the felony system which is unlocked near the end of episode/chapter 3.
You receive a subpoena depending on certain conditions you meet that can range from individual units to everyone (which has its own category).
The only way to obtain a felony is to enter the item world of the subpoena you receive from the Felony NPC. In each subpoena is a special item innocent called a bailiff. the level of the bailiff determines what floor of the item world the dark court gate appears (e.g. Bailiff 7 means the dark court gate appears on the 7th floor of the item world inside the subpoena). Once you reach the floor the dark court gate appears on, have a unit enter it and they’ll receive a felony from the prinny judges, dood. After you receive your felony you can either clear the item world until the 10th floor and exit or use a Mr. Gency’s Exist to quickly get out of there.

There are actually many advantages for having a felony:

1) increases the exp earned from enemies by 1% per felony

2) have a discount at the shop per felony (max. effect is 33 felonies)

3) increase the selling prices you give to the shops per felony (max. effect is 33 felonies)

4) increase the chance a bill will pass in the dark assembly by per 2 felonies (this isn’t always a gurantee however)

5) felonies are required to access some sidegame/postgame content (this will be explained in more detail later on in the guide)

6) any character who has a felony gets a stamp on their avatar, while the stamp value is capped at 99, the true felony value (aka gross crimes committed) is capped at 300.

This may sound too good to be true, which you’re right because it has 2 major drawbacks:

1) The only way to get felonies is from the dark court
2) Felonies are character bound

This especially sucks because felonies are the only way to increase the amount of experience you gain. Not only that, but since it is character bound, if you want to level up another character with an easier time, they’ll have to get 300 felonies of their own!

Now the slightly good news is that it isn’t as terrible as it sounds (ok is really really bad, but bare with me).

You can speed up the process of getting felonies a lot faster by following this really basic steps (while it requires a legendary subpoena, the same can apply for any legendary item. Since the enemies in subpoena’s are really weak I recommend them over other types of items.):

1) Receive a lot of subpoena’s from the felony npc with baliff’s on them. You want to make sure the baliff’s have different values (e.g. baliff’s of 8, 12, 14, 18, 22, 38, 42, 58, 64), the higher the value, the more felonies you’ll get!

2) Out of the subpoena’s you received you need one legendary quality subpoena (aka the one with a baliff value of 62-64).

3) Because the baliff is already subdued, move the one from the legendary quality subpoena into an item for safe keeping, you’ll need that baliff later on!

4) Now that you moved the 62-64 value baliff out of the legendary subpoena, take the lowest value baliff from your other subpoena and move it into the legendary subpoena.

5) Go through the floors until you come across the dark court gate.

6) Make a tower of 9 characters by making them lifting each other (the unit at the bottom doesn’t matter, because all of them are going to receive a felony).

7) Have your last character lift up the tower of 9 characters and throw them onto the dark court gate, having all of them receive felonies!

8a) Once you’re done, exit the item world of the legendary subpoena by either clearing to floor 10 or using a mr gency exit.
b) depending on the other baliff values, (i.e. you entered a dark court gate on floor 14, and the next lowest baliff value is 18) you’ll have to exit the item world with a mr gency exit before you reach the next baliff value, move that baliff into the legendary subpoena, re-enter it and proceed to the floor the dark court gate spawns.

9) repeat this process of moving baliffs into the subpoena until you reach floor 60. Once you exit the item world via innocent town or the game promoting you to exit after clearing the 60th floor, move the last baliff you held in another item into the legendary subpoena and receive the felonies from it. Then, exit the item world once you collected it.

Continue doing this until you hit 300 felonies! This will make grinding a hell of a lot easier 🙂

Felonies list: “insert jojoke about d4c here”

Now how do you receive felonies from the felony npc? It depends on what you’ve accomplished with your characters or throughout the game.

Here are a list of felonies you can receive per character:

Baliff’s that have a value of 6-14, each giving 2 felonies (resets after reincarnation)

High Lv: obtain a level 20+
High HP: have an hp value of 500+
High SP: have an sp value of 250+
High Atk/Def/Int/Res/Hit/Spd: have an attack/defense/intelligence/resistance/hit/speed value of 200+

Baliff’s that have a value of 16-24, each giving 6 felonies (resets after reincarnation)

Too High Lv: obtain a level 200+
Too High HP: have an hp value of 5000+
TooHigh SP: have an sp value of 2500+
Too High Atk/Def/Int/Res/Hit/Spd: have an attack/defense/intelligence/resistance/hit/speed value of 2000+

Baliff’s that have a value of 36-44, each giving 10 felonies (resets after reincarnation)

Way Too High Lv: obtain a level 2000+
Way Too High HP: have an hp value of 50000+
Way Too High SP: have an sp value of 25000+
Way Too High Atk/Def/Int/Res/Hit/Spd: have an attack/defense/intelligence/resistance/hit/speed value of 20000+

*Other Baliff’s with values that very, but its mostly 16-24. Each giving different felony values (resets after reincarnation)

Geo Vandalism: do a 500+ geo combo; rewards 2 felonies
Stack Attacking: participate in 100+ stack attacks; rewards 6 felonies
Team Attacking: participate in 100+ team attacks; rewards 6 felonies

Being a loser: die 20+ times; rewards 2 felonies
Friendly Fire: Kill 20+ allies; rewards 2 felonies
Pitching Prinnies: Throw 20+ prinnies; rewards 3 felonies
Too many murders: kill 100+ enemies; rewards 2 felonies
Reincarnating: do 10+ reincarnations (baliff value is 56-64); rewards 16 felonies
Liking guys: have 10+ male apprentices/pupils; rewards 2 felonies
Liking girls: have 10+ female apprentices/pupils; rewards 2 felonies
Being a breeder: have 10+ monster apprentices/pupils; rewards 2 felonies
corrupting the youth: Have a human apprentice/pupil that’s level 100+; rewards 6 felonies
illegal breeding: Have a monster apprentice/pupil that’s level 100+; rewards 6 felonies

*I personally don’t recommend getting these subpoena’s because some of them don’t give a lot of felonies compared to others. But feel free to get them if you want to.

Mastery Baliff’s that have a value of 56-64, each giving 12 felonies

**Mastering Fists: obtain a weapon mastery level of 15+ in fists
**Mastering Swords: obtain a weapon mastery level of 15+ in swords
**Mastering Spears: obtain a weapon mastery level of 15+ in spears
**Mastering Bows: obtain a weapon mastery level of 15+ in bows
**Mastering Guns: obtain a weapon mastery level of 15+ in guns
**Mastering Axes: obtain a weapon mastery level of 15+ in axes
**Mastering Staves: obtain a weapon mastery level of 15+ in staves
Mastering fire/ice/wind/star/healing magic: Have a total skill level of all tiers of fire/ice/wind/star/healing magic = 15

**You also receive a Mastery Scroll depending on which felony you receieve (i.e. going through the dark court gate for mastering fists gives you a Fist Mastery Scroll). These are unique because it makes anyone who equips them have a Weapon Mastery Grade of A, as well as a guranteed 120% aptitude on a stat depending on the scroll (e.g. any humanoid unit that equips a Sword Mastery Scroll has a Weapon Mastery Grade of A in Swords and an 120% attack aptitude). They’re really helpful if you want to increase the weapon mastery of some characters.

Everyone’s Crimes (You only get this felony once ever, regardless of how many new game+’s you do), all except one give 10 felonies each, and most of them have baliff values of 12-18

Your Existance: the very first felony you receive in the main story.
2nd round of playing: see any ending (yes, ANY ending), has a baliff value of 36-44
Playing too much: have more than 100+ hours of playing time on your save file
Being too rich: have more than 100 million hl
Mastering classes: be able to create the first tier of every generic class
Political Unrest: successfully persuade by force 20+ times
Kidnapping: Capture 15 monsters by throwing them into the base panel
Tele Fraud (1,2 and 3): use 30+ defender/prism/Dark Hero phones
Murdering Baal: Kill Baal for the first time!, has a baliff value of 56-64

Extremely Important Subpoena’s to get for sidegame/postgame

**Magichanging Self (you can only get this once!): Magichange 2 monsters with various characters, baliff has a value of 12-18. Rewards 10 felonies.
Magichanging others (only monsters can receive this subpoena): Magichange 30+ times; rewards 12 felonies and a magichange weight

**This also gives you a magichange scroll, which is a crutial part of dealing with the true final super boss of Disgaea 2 PC! Mostly because it’s the least tedious way of obtaining a legendary quality of a magichange scroll, which I’ll go into further detail later in the guide. You don’t have to wory about it for a long time I assure you.

Grinding like a mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥: Introduction

THIS IS WERE THE REAL GAME BEGINS! If you think the main story is the only part that makes up the game you’re DEAD WRONG! It only makes up 5% of the actual game! The rest of the 95% is in the postgame, and if you want to gain access to it you need to grind those levels, gain the best gear in the game, and reincarnate tons of times!

This section will go over all the necessary things you need in order to get to Level 9999!

Here’s a gigantic list of things you need to have if you want to grind in the most efficient way:

GET A THIEF!

Thief’s are really really helpful in Disgaea 2 because they’re not only the best class to steal items with, but also have the most broken skills in the game! (not broken in terms of damage, broken in terms of how overpowered they are). Have at least 2 thieves when you prepare the grind. Alternatively, you can also have 2 Female Ninja’s because they’re also really useful, but for this guide, I’ll explain why either or are broken.

Get to Chapter 9 in the Main Story

Normally I would say to get through the main story and stop before you face the final boss, but imho you only need to reach chapter 9 as it has a really good early grinding stage imho. That and a postgame boss is only available between chapter 1-9 (which will go into further detail later on in the guide).

If you’re in Axel Mode and not in the main story, don’t worry! There’s actually a pretty easy grinding stage you can do, but its not THE best. However, you can still gain access to the best grinding stage in the game, so don’t worry!

Have 300 felonies on the character you want to grind with

This speeds up the process of grinding since you get +1% extra exp per felony your character has whenever they defeat an enemy. Refer to “Felonies: A Love-Hate Relationship and how to be a real criminal!” section in the guide for more details on how to collect felonies on your characters.

Have a weapon mastery level of 255 on the main weapon your character uses when grinding (only applies to humanoid units)

You don’t REALLY need to get the max level in weapon mastery, but for every 1 level you have for a weapon, you receive an additional 5% of its weapon stats when you equip it.

I strongly recommend equipping an item with and armsmaster of 1900 value, this allows your character to receive an additional 1900% weapon mastery exp whenever they use a normal or special skill. For more details, refer to the “Weapon Mastery and Aptitudes” and “Item World: Innocents and what they do!” sections of the guide.

Have access to Magichange and Magichange 2

This will be really handy if you want to level up monster units since they don’t have to do any actual work when magichanged! For more details, refer to the “Magichange!: Magi-whatnow!?” section of the guide.

If you’re in Axel Mode for the first time, you can gain access to Magichange near the end of the first Axel Chapter, so don’t worry!

Unlock the Cave of Ordeals

The Cave of Ordeals is as the name implies. However, it has THE BEST grinding spot in the entire game so unlocking it is essential when level grinding. You can unlock it in any point in the main story as long as you have 700 mana, but the approval rating is always low. It also has a really good map for you to increase weapon mastery and skills.

Unlock the Land of Carnage

This will make level grinding 100000% faster, so this is essential to unlock. Refer to “The Land of Carnage: Prepare to die… dood.” section for more details.

Have a product rank of 12 in the shops.

Not only do you get some good early postgame gear here, but the “100 fists” weapon always has an armsmaster innocent in it (if you don’t see the weapon shop selling any, just exit and enter again until they do). So if you want a 1900 value one, just buy a lot, subdue them in the item world, and combine them until you reach that value. Then just transfer the armsmaster onto an item and have a unit equip it (doesn’t apply to monster-type units as they don’t gain weapon mastery).

If you’re struggling with money, get a Broker innocent with a value of 300 onto your characters equipment and replay some stages with high level enemies, later in the postgame money won’t be an issue, but there’s nothing wrong with making a few million hell 🙂

Get some good gear by going through the Item World

Alternatively, if you’re poor on cash, you can just level up a weapon you already have in the Item World. You can improve its stats to the point where it will have more stats than the most expensive weapon in the shop in some cases!

You can also steal weapons held by enemies using the hand item from the store, but only if your character is of a higher level than the enemy (of course, thieves have a better chance in stealing than any other class in the game so keep that in mind!).

Grinding like a mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥: the MEAT

Assuming you have all the requirements talked about in previous section, its time to list all the stages you’ll be repeating for a while!

*Note that these are stages that helped me the most when I grinded in the game. There might not be stages that are not listed in this guide, including Dark World stages. In that case I suggest experimenting and trying other stages you think they are good grinding spots.*

I’ll be listing stages in this kind of format; A-B
a = the location of the stage
b = the stage itself
For Axel Mode stages, there will be a (AXEL) beside it to distinguish it from main story stages.

e.g. 1-2 is Town Fields, reflection pond.
there’s a special case for the coliseum, as it spans 2 chapters instead of the usual 1, but for the sake of consistency I’ll be breaking the coliseum as 6 and 7 respectively.

As well, the following will have special abbreviations:

Cave of Ordeals = CoO
Land of Carnage = LoC

Since the Land of Carnage is special, it will be put in front of the location of the stage.
e.g. LoC 1-2 is different than 1-2.

Here are the list of stages that you may find helpful when grinding:

4-3

This stage was once famous for an trick back on the PS2 version. Bad news is, it’s no longer present in the PC version as the trick was patched… If you want to know more about this trick google “Disgaea 2 nekomata trick” for more details.

What makes this stage great is that the enemies are standing on a 10% enemy level up effect, meaning they’ll gain levels by the # of turns passed. Theoretically you can just grind on this stage as long as you wait an x # of turns, eventually having to deal with level 9999 nekomatas! Since it’s time consuming, I don’t really suggest grinding here for too long as there are better stages that make grinding better. Feel free to pass any stronger enemy bills if you want the process to go faster!

8-1

I recommend this stage since there are dragon units on it, and that they give a bit more exp than other classes in the game. Just raise their levels via stronger enemy bills and grind off of them. You can also lift and throw enemies at each other, doing so will cause them to combine their levels into one unit! Be warned that you can’t damage Dragons with fire due to their ability.

9-2

The stage I used to grind for days back when I was on my psp. It’s self explanatory, just raise the enemy levels via stronger enemy bills if you want more exp, or combine them into one unit and kill them. Note that it will practically be impossible unless you have high enough stats to kill it.

(AXEL) 1-4

This only applies to those who either started axel mode after the main story or with the NIS code. This stage is super easy, so pass stronger enemy bills if you want more exp. Then, you can move on to Cave of Ordeals 1 and eventually 4 to start the real grind!

Now normally I would go to the next stage but I want to take a small detour and go over why Thieves are really really useful when level grinding!

Thieves

Thieves are one out of 2 classes, the other being female ninjas, that can access special moves that cause status effects. Those being sleep (causes the unit to fall asleep and can’t attack. any damage it receives will be a 100% critical hit, and will wake up after one hit. lasts 3 turns), poison (deals 10% damage of their total hp per turn for 3 turns), paralysis (unit can’t move, also has their speed reduced to 1 for 3 turns). and amnesia (unit can’t use any special attacks, lasts 3 turns).

Now the special part about thieves are that no matter what level they are, their status ailment moves will 100% hit! Yes, even against level 9999 enemies!

“If thieves are broken, this game should be easy right?” Well, you’re not wrong. But the only enemy units that are immune to this kind of cheese are:

1) Marionettes, since they have an ability that negates any status ailments
2) All bosses you fight in the postgame (not sure if main story boss’s can be affected by status ailments… feel free to try it out!)

Here’s a small demonstration video of my typical grinding session on 9-2:

Keep in mind, that you need your thief to be at least level 20 to get access to all the necessary skills required to do this set up.

You can also utilize tower attacks when grinding! Tower attacks are when you make a tower of characters by constantly lifting each other up. Depending on how big the tower is, the more attack range you’ll have!

The only drawback of grinding using tower attacks is that the Exp and mana obtained will be divided, depending on how many units make up the tower. e.g. killing a unit with a tower 2 characters high means both will only receive 50% of mana and exp!

Of course, you can pass stronger enemy bills to gain more exp from defeated enemies. You can also pass a Triple EXP bill that allows you to gain 3x the exp on the first enemy kill only (you can repass this bill again so don’t worry).

CoO 1

This stage is your first taste in the Cave of Ordeals, and the game is fortunate enough to give you exp geo symbols as well! However, the enemies on the map stand on geo panels that give them A LOT of benefits, and the enemy units themselves WILL NOT MOVE! They will only attack units that are in range so keep this in mind!

If you want to use the exp geo effect, you will have to lift and throw the geo symbols onto geo panels, which is time consuming, but worth it regardless.

If you have thieves then this should be easy! Here’s a small demonstration of how I level grinded on this map (note that this may not be the most efficient way so you don’t have to follow this!):

As always, feel free to use stronger enemy bills, and triple exp bills if you want more exp.

CoO 4

This is, hands down, the best grinding spot in the entire game! The only enemies here are Marionettes, so you can’t use the thieves status moves on them. However you shouldn’t need to as long as you have enough stats to kill them.

For this stage, it’s highly recommended that you have units that have special skills that have a range of 3×3 or 2×3. The most popular moves being:

1) Winged Slayer: Sword users learn this skill when their weapon mastery level in swords are level 10

2) Big Bang: Fist users learn this skill when their weapon mastery level in fists are level 21.

3) Elemental spells can achieve a 2×3 AoE on their spells if their spell is at least level 5 OR level 2 if their weapon mastery in staves is more than 10.

Warning: you’re not guranteed to hit all of them with 3×3 or 2×3 moves since they’re formed in a 2×4 formation.

Here’s what level the Marionettes will be at if no stronger enemy bills are passed:

If you max out stronger enemy bills:

LoC CoO 4

I lied, THIS is THE BEST grinding spot in the entire game! Only reason being that the Marionettes are higher level, giving even more exp when defeated!

Warning, you must have stats of at least 400,000 in attack or int if you want to kill them!

Here’s what the Marionettes will be at if no stronger enemy bills are passed:

If you max out stronger enemy bills:

Alternative Grinding spots:

There are other alternative spots in the postgame so read the postgame section for more details.

Endings/Spoiler Theater: “EVERY ENDING IS RELATED TO AN ACHIEVEMENT!?” edition

It’s no secret that there are many different endings in the Disgaea series, and Disgaea 2 PC is no exception. Depending on what you do in the game, you might come across different endings. You probably already encountered one before you finished the main story!

Anytime you get an ending, regardless of good or bad, you are forced to start a new cycle from the beginning of Chapter 1. So make sure you’re prepared to do it all over again for future endings (alternatively, you can make multiple saves for some endings so you don’t have to replay the entire main story, this only applies to some not all).

Great news is the game doesn’t record all the endings you get in-game, so keep this in mind if you want to save time getting the steam achievements.

I’M NOT HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU ACCIDENTALLY SPOILING YOURSELF JUST SO YOU KNOW!

Anyways, for the sake of spoilers I’ll be hiding the end result of these endings so unless you really want to spoil yourself go on ahead, otherwise here are the requirements you need in order to gain these endings. And yes, they all have their own achievement tied to them.

I’ll be listing stages in this kind of format; A-B
a = the location of the stage
b = the stage itself

e.g. 1-2 is Town Fields, reflection pond.
there’s a special case for the coliseum, as it spans 2 chapters instead of the usual 1, but for the sake of consistency I’ll be breaking the coliseum as 6 and 7 respectively.

In some endings, you need to pass a certain bill while in a specific part of the main story, so I’ll make sure to point out when you can get access to the bill. Since some of them require you to have really strong units I’ll be putting a special * next them, meaning its preferred to wait until you get stronger (i.e. like level 1000+ strong, or at least with stats over 50,000 i think…).

Axel Ending

1) Get a game over on 1-4, 2-4, 4-4, 7-3

Axel, the Dark Hero, takes over the role as main character!

Etna ending

*2) Win the first fight on 3-4 in the main story, replaying 3-4 later on doesn’t count.

Adell takes Etna’s title of Demon Lord! and that’s about it….

Laharl Ending

*3a) Pass the “pick a fight with an overlord bill” in the dark assembly that only shows up in the first chapter. It requires 5000 mana in order to be available too. Then win the stage it unlocks

OR

*3b) Win the first fight on 11-7 in the main story, replaying 11-7 later on doesn’t count.

Laharl get’s mad that he lost, so he blows up the planet! yes, you heard that right!

Mid-boss ending

4) pass the “I want to see the ending!” bill in the dark assembly before the end of Chapter 10 (meaning it’s available UNITL you pass chapter 10, so you can get this ending at any point before then). You also need to have 20+ hours on your save file (steam hours don’t count!), then win the stage it unlocks.

Mid-boss gives you the ending you deserve!

Good ending

5) Just play through the game normally, defeat the final boss and you should get this one easy peasy.

Bad ending

6) Have Adell with at least 10 felonies and 50+ ally kills and defeat the final boss of the main story. You know you have this if the last cutscene plays out differently.

Adell is a child of sin indeed… This isn’t a great ending, but it’s certainty a lot better than the WORST ending…

Worst Ending

*7) Similar to the bad ending, but Adell has to have 99 felonies, 99+ ally kills, one of which has to be Rozalin and defeat the final boss of the main story. You know you’re on the road to this ending if the last cutscene plays differently. Then defeat Rozalin(?)

Rozalin dies and the soul of Overlord Zenon takes over Adell, who broke his promise to protect her, becoming Overlord Zenon himself. After the credits, if you have the japanese audio enabled OHH BOY be prepared for some nightmare fuel! You deserve it for getting the worst ending in the game >:D

Tink Ending

8) Defeat the final boss of the main story with only a level 1000+ Tink. You know you have this ending if the very last cutscene plays out differently.

nothing really funny to say about this, but I guess Tink owns an overlords castle now?

Axel heads off to Veldime!

9) Complete Axel mode for the first time.

I hear Makai Wars 2 is the best thing since its predecessor, only because they never even made the first one LOL

Axel Mode: Dark Hero Days

Exclusive to the psp version, and therefore the PC version of Disgaea 2, is Axel Mode! This is an extra mode that allows you to play as the Dark Hero himself! outside of the Land of Carnage Unlike the previous game, you don’t have to worry about unlocking it, because all you have to do is play through the game and get the good ending! After the credits are over, the game prompts you to start a new game choosing between Axel’s and Adell’s story. Just select Axel’s story, save the file, and reopen it and you’ll begin the Dark Hero’s game mode!

If you’re itching to get into Axel Mode without beating the game first, you can use the verified “NIS code” that exists in every port, allowing you to access the mode right away when you start a new file!

WARNING: DON’T USE THE NIS CODE UNLESS YOU’RE BALLSY OR A VETERAN OF THE DISGAEA SERIES. YOU’LL BE OVERWHELMED WITH A LOT OF MECHANICS THAT YOU’LL LEARN NATURALLY THROUGH THE MAIN STORY OUTSIDE OF MAGICHANGE AND TOSS-N’-PASS.

Here’s the code you need to input, note that you need the cursor to hover over “start” in order for it to work:

Playstation buttons: Triangle Square O Triangle Square O X
Xbox 360/one buttons: Y X B Y X B A
Mouse & Keyboard users: I J L I J L K

If you input the code correctly you’ll hear Axel say “SHOW TIME”, and you start the game in Axel Mode.

The only difference in unlocking it through normal means vs the NIS code is that the enemies will be significantly weaker in the NIS code run. However, the stages and their hazards will stay the same… Also, you CAN unlock the Dark World here, with dark world stages exclusive to Axel Mode! But from my knowledge there’s no real reward for doing it… Just unlock it in the Main Story since it has a better purpose there.

Assuming you haven’t passed any stronger enemy bills:

1) The Last boss in Axel Mode will be around level 300 normally
2) The Last boss in Axel Mode will be around level 35-38ish through the NIS code way

If you’re going to play Axel Mode through the normal way however, be warned that:

1) All main characters and DLC characters acquired in the main story can’t be accessed (i.e. Adell, Rozalin, Tink etc.) INCLUDING ALL OF THEIR EQUIPMENT. Make sure you unequip their items and store them in the warehouse if you want to use those in Axel Mode.

2) Any and all characters you obtained in the postgame can’t be accessed. INCLUDING THEIR EQUIPMENT. Again, just unequip them and store them in the warehouse if you want to use those in Axel Mode.

Any generic units you made will still transfer however, so keep that in mind.

Outside of the obvious achievements that are related to Axel Mode, it also serves as a mode that introduces new mechanics from Disgaea 3 in Disgae 2 PC.

The following is what you unlock when you finish Axel Mode:

1) The ability for monster-type units to Magichange.

2) The ability for monster-type units to Toss-n’-Pass.

3) Be able to create the Entei and Deathsaber monster classes and the Celestial Host class

4) One of the requirements for a postgame fight.

All of these features will remain unlocked indefinitely, no matter how many new game+’s/cycles only after finishing Axel Mode at least once.

Outside of that, I don’t really have much to say other than complete Axel Mode and in the process, learn why the Dark Hero traveled to Veldime!

Magichange!: Magi-whatnow!?

If you read the guide up to this point, you may be curious as to what this so called “Magichange” is. Regardless of whether or not people skipped to this section or been a champ and made it up to here, both will know!

Magichange is a game mechanic that was first introduced in Disgaea 3, and has since then been a core mechanic in the series moving forward (outside of Disgaea D2 that is). Since this is the port of the psp version, you’ll still have the luxury of trying this new mechanic out! The only way to unlock it is by finishing Axel Mode at least once, otherwise you won’t be able to access this mechanic in the main story.

Any and every monster-type unit in the game now has the ability to transform into a weapon that a humanoid unit can equip! The stronger the monster, the better the stats the weapon will have! Each monster turns into a different type of weapon depending on its species, unique monster units like Taro, Hanako and Tink can also turn into weapons as well!

I won’t list EVERY species since I want to give a surprise factor when you find out yourself, but I’ll list some examples of various monster species that can turn into weapons

To list a few: Dragons can turn into spears, Prinnies can turn into guns, Nekomata’s can turn into swords, Succubus’s can turn into spears and Cu Sith’s can turn into swords. Hanako can turn into a gun and Tink can turn into a spear.

In order to magichange, the monster has to be next to an ally humanoid unit, and the option will be open!

Magichange has a lot of advantages:

1) Both the monster and humanoid unit will receive the same amount of EXP and Mana when a humanoid kills an enemy. If the humanoid has any felonies on them, both the monster and humanoid unit will gain the same bonus exp (that is, you don’t need the monster unit to have any felonies, they’ll just leech the benefits from the humanoid unit).

2) Gain access to flashy skills that can only be used from monster units while in Magichange (e.g. monster skills that have “magichange only” next to them means that only when they’re magichanged with a humanoid unit, the humanoid unit can access those skills from the skill menu).

3) The humanoid unit will temporarily have the Monster’s ability when Magichanged.

Here’s a demonstration video showcasing magichange in action!:

That’s a lot of good positives about Magichange right there! but for every good thing must come at a price:

1) When a monster magichanges with a humanoid unit, both of them will be considered as one unit. If the humanoid unit dies while magichanged, both of them will be killed.

2) Magichange only lasts 2 turns. After 2 turns are up, the magichanged weapon, along with the monster unit, will disappear for the rest of the battle. This also decreases the # of total units you can dispatch for the rest of the battle, as the unit is considered defeated.

3) Since this is from the 3rd game (specifically the PS3 version) the magichanged weapon REPLACES your characters existing weapon. As well, only 30% of the monster unit’s stats will be used as weapon stats. For the most part, you’ll be seeing stat drops whenever you magichange a monster with a humanoid unit.

That’s pretty bad, but Magichange will be essential when dealing with the TRUE Final Super Boss of the game, which will be explained in more detail later in the guide.

Magichange 2

Unique in Disgaea 2 is a new feature called Magichange 2! It is essentially a Magichange that surpass’s magichange!

Once you unlock Magichange in Axel Mode, the mystery gates in the Item World now have a chance to spawn a room with Mao, the Main Character of Disgaea 3, in it! If you talk to him, he’ll offer you a chance to modify a monster unit so it will be able to Magichange with a humanoid unit already in the middle of magichange! You know if a monster unit is able to use Magichange 2 if they have a (C) next to their title.

The main advantages of Magichange 2 are:
1) Both monster units will receive the same amount of EXP and Mana the humanoid unit gains, including bonus multipliers, such as felonies.

2) The humanoid unit will be able to use the 2nd monster’s special skills! This applies to ANY monster-type units that are able to Magichange 2, so be prepared to see characters do moves they’re not supposed to use!).

Here’s a video demonstration of Magichange 2 in action!:

The main drawback with Magichange 2 is that it decreases the # of magichange turns by 1, meaning you’ll only have one turn to use that magichanged weapon and BOTH monster units will be gone for the rest of the battle in the next turn. As well, if the humanoid unit dies while in Magichange 2, all 3 units will be killed until you revive them after the stage is over in the hospital.

The good news is you can extend the monster’s magichange turns by going to the Dark Assembly and passing a bill for it (which increases the total # of magichange turns when it’s magichanged by 1) If you reincarnate that monster, you’ll have to re-pass the bill if you want an extra turn in magichange.

THE BEST ITEMS IN THE GAME!: How to get them

Like in every other jrpg, there are weapons/items you can get that are THE strongest in the game! However, for the majority of them, you need to actually steal them!

Before I go on, here are some requirements you need in order to get them:

1) Access to the Land of Carnage (this is the only way to get the strongest weapons in the game!

2) Have a Thief level 9999 (This is crucial because Thieves are the only class that can have a 99% chance of stealing items from enemies! You can also have thief lover with a value of 25 to increase your chances of stealing).

**3) Have a Rank 39 weapon that is legendary quality (depending on the type of weapon you want to get).

**The only way to get a rank 40 weapon is if you steal it from an Item God in a Legendary Quality Rank 39 weapon depending on its type:

Fists: God’s Hand
Swords: *Excalibur
Spears: Holy Longinus
Bows: Artemis
Guns: Megiddo Cannon
Staves: Infernal Staff
Axes: Beam Axe
Monster Red/Physical: Satan’s Motor
Monster Blue/Special: The King
Armour: Infernal Armour

You can find Rank 39 weapons in the Item World from random item residents if you go into an item world of a rank 38 item. I recommend going into an item world of Majin Armour, which you can purchase from the store if your product level is 12, as it’s a rank 38 item.

Alternatively, you can also increase your chances of finding item residents holding legendary quality rank 39 weapons in an Item World of a Rank 40 item. A Rank 40 item that I recommend going into are weapon mastery scrolls (refer to the “Felony List” section for more details).

From there, you’ll have to test out your luck against the really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ rng in hopes of getting one. Here is an example of a resident holding a legendary quality excaliber, a rank 39 weapon that is needed to obtain the Yoshiitsuna:

You CAN also have a chance of obtaining a Legendary quality Rank 39 item from the bonus gauge in some stages like Cave of Ordeals 4 (though I didn’t use this method feel free to try it yourself).

Here is the list of the most powerful weapons for each type you can obtain, all of them are Rank 40:

Fists: Ultimus
Swords: *Yoshiitsuna (I purposely speld it wrong because for whatever reason it gets censored).
Spears: Drill Emperor
Bows: Lovely Cupid
Guns: Etoile
Staves: Omniscient Rod
Axes: Apocalypse
Monster Red/Physical: Babylon Crown
Monster Blue/Special: The Fool
Armour: Super Robo Suit

* While the Yoshiitsuna is referred to as the strongest weapon in the game (both in-game and the achievement that is unlocked when you obtain one), its actually not. The REAL strongest weapon is actually the Omniscient Rod, since there are a lot of multipliers that play when you cast elemental spells.

The only way to obtain these Rank 40 weapons is to go down to the 100th floor of a Rank 39 weapon and steal it from an Item God in the Land of Carnage.

This doesn’t mean you have to go all 100 floors! You can just go to the 99th floor of the Item World of a rank 39 weapon in Holt Village, use a mr. gency’s exit to get out. Then, go the the Land of Carnage and go back into the Item World again from the 99th floor and proceed to floor 100. Then, the Item God will have the Rank 40 weapon equipped.

Here’s an example of an Item God holding a Yoshiitsuna on the 100th floor of a Legendary Excalibur in the Land of Carnage:

Warning, if you decide to use a mr. gency exit on the 100th floor without stealing the Rank 40 weapon, the Item God will never have it equipped when you re-enter!

If you already have a rank 40 weapon but want a second one, just do the same thing except this time an Item God 2 will show up with another copy of the Rank 40 weapon (once again, only in the Land of Carnage!).

Unique Items

There are other items that you can get that have some of the best stats in the game! All of them are limited to one per save file!

Here is a list of the best Unique items you can obtain in the postgame:

1) Sexy Panties, *Gao’s Spirit, *Claudia’s Charm, *Kitty’s Ears

2) **Makai Wars

3) *Prinny Suit

*Need to be stolen in-battle in order to acquire them.
**This is hands down the best unique item in the game!

While there are more unique items you can obtain, compared to these they’re not so great. If you want to know how to obtain these items, refer to the postgame section and the Tyrant Overlord Baal section of this guide for more details.

You can also obtain the best movement item in the gamed called an Accelerator, (if you want to know how to obtain one refer to the postgame section of the guide). You are limited to one accelerator per cycle, and while you CAN go down to the 100 floor of it’s Item World to obain another it’s not guranteed to be Legendary Quality.

There’s also a special item you can obtain if you 100% all the Dark World Stages called “Usagi’s Journal”. What’s unique about this item is you can obtain one per cycle, assuming you completed all 100% of the Dark World in the Main story again that is…. Unless you’re a masochist (like me) I STRONGLY DON’T RECOMMEND doing it the 2nd time. For more details about the Dark World refer to the “Dark World” section of the guide.

Item Rarity

Don’t be confused with item quality or rank, item rarity is a specail number assigned to all items depending on the quality of the item.

It’s Rarity can range from:

Normal quality: Rarity of 255 – 32
Rare quality: 31 – 8
Legendary quality: 7 – 0

What the game doesn’t tell you is that you recieve a bonus if you equip more than 1 item with the same rarity. Meaning if a character equips 2 items with the same rarity, they’ll recieve an extra 10% boost in stats!

If you have all 4 items equipped with the same rarity that’s 30%!

It’s heavily recommended to get the Best items in the game with the same rarity otherwise you’ll miss out on that bonus!

**This is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT when dealing with the True Final Super Boss, as you need to get your stats as high as possible!**

Rarity 0

Rarity 0 is unique because Legendary Quality items have a slim chance of having one, especially when stealing Rank 40 weapons from an Item God/Item God 2.

If you’re planning on stealing a rank 40 weapon from an Item God/Item God 2 in the Land of Carnage, I suggest using a mr gencies exit on floor 99, save, and proceed to floor 100. If the Item God/Item God 2 isn’t carrying a rank 40 weapon with a rarity of 0, just reload your save and try again until it has one. Then steal it.

Here are some examples of Rank 40 weapons with a Rarity of 0:

Rarity 0 Tricks for Unique items

If you’re planning on stealing unique items like Makai Wars, Sexy Panties or accelerator’s, there’s a neat trick you can use if you want a guranteed rarity 0 one!

After you defeat the bosses that give you a Makai Wars, Sexy Panties, or accelerator from their respective postgame fights, the game will ask if you want to skip the cutscene. Say yes, and the item you’ll receive normally from the cutscene will have a rarity of 0!

The same applies to Usagi’s Journal, just skip the cutscene when you receive one and it will be rarity 0!

Note that I strongly recommend watching the cutscene at least once before doing this trick. This only applies to unique items that you receive after battle.

If you read this and already gotten a unique item that isn’t rarity 0, there’s still hope! Because theres only one of its kind per save file (excluding accelerator and Usagi’s Journal as you can get another one per cycle), if you screwed up obtaining the rarity you want for a unique item, just sell it!

Don’t worry, if you sell it, then the boss that normally carries it/gives you after you defeat them will have a spare copy! You need to re-fight the boss on a new cycle if you want another chance of getting their unique item at rarity 0 though!

E.g. Say you screwed up and got Kitty’s Ears but it doesn’t have rarity 0. Start a new cycle, unlock the stage for its boss through the Dark Assembly, and before you fight the boss, sell Kitty’s Ears (Make sure you save before doing this!), and fight the boss. If the boss doesn’t have a Kitty’s Ears that is Rank 0, just reload your save, sell the Ears again, and fight the boss again. Keep doing this until you find one with Rarity 0!

E.g. 2 Say you screwed up and got a Makai Wars but you didn’t do the Rarity 0 trick and it has a rarity that is not 0. Just start a new cycle, unlock the fight again via bill and its requirements, and delete the Makai Wars before you fight the boss. After you finished the fight, just skip the cutscene and you’ll receive a Makai Wars with a rarity of 0!

Here are some examples of Unique items that can have rarity 0 with these tricks:

Item World: Perfecting an Item

This assumes you read the “item World: The Basics” section.

Before you perfect an item, because it WILL take a while, make sure you have:
1) a level 9999 thief

2) about 30+ mr gency exits

3) a dedicated item world runner (just give tink 3 pairs of shoes/accelerators)

4) Bandit hands for stealing

I was going to go through a list of steps you have to do but it seems someone already beat me to it!
If you want how to Perfect and Item head over to this guide!
[link]
However, I’ll be expanding on this so please check out the guide above or else you’ll be really lost!

While the guide says that you NEED to get a mystery gate with either a fortune teller or ambush room on specific floors, I don’t recommend following it to a T.

Basically just get 3 mystery gates per 10 floors that give you item levels. Some floors I recommend getting mystery gates every 10 floors are:

Every 2nd, 5th and 8th floor

Every 1st, 4th, and 7th floor

Here’s a tip that can speed up the process: If you see a level sphere spawn on the same floor as a mystery gate, take the orb over the mystery gate. Getting 5 guranteed levels is better than taking a chance of getting 3 or 10.

Mystery Gate trick

Here’s a pepsecret I’m gonna share with you. What if I told you that you can FORCE the game to give you a mystery gate on ANY FLOOR in ANY ITEM? (excluding item general, king and item god/item god 2 floors of course).

This is really simple but it requires a lot of patience and is time consuming:

1) Go through a dummy item, this can be any item that isn’t the one you’re going to perfect.

2) because a mystery gate is guaranteed to spawn every 3 floors (at least in theory), just go through the first 10 floors and get out. You want to keep track on the floors the mystery gate spawns (for example, a mystery gate spawns on floors 2, 5 and 7.).

3) Because the 10th floor NEVER spawns a mystery gate due to a item general/king/god being on that floor, the game “saves” the mystery gate to spawn on the next floor assuming you’ll continue in the same item. However, you can simply exit the dummy item, and the game will still hold onto the mystery gate. This means that ANY ITEM you go into later will now now has a 100% to nearly 99.99% chance of spawning a mystery gate on the floor you enter! But even then, the chances of getting a fortune teller or ambush room is still random, so always rememeber to save!

THEORETICALLY SPEAKING, you can get 100+ levels on the first floor if you do this trick, assuming you have a patience of a god. However that would take more than 10+ hours and is not really fun.

You can also use this to get more mr. gencys exists if you clear the 10th floor of the dummy item.

You will need a lot of perfected equipment if you want to tackle the True Final Super Boss so this is required!

The Dark World: PRAISE THE ANGRY AS ♥♥♥♥ SUN GOD!

WARNING: I STRONGLY SUGGEST NOT UNLOCKING THE DARK WORLD UNTIL YOU COMPLETED BOTH THE MAIN STORY AND AXEL MODE AT LEAST ONCE. That being said however, there’s nothing stopping you if you decide to do it.

Ah the Dark World, a place where patience is tested and where part of the Hardcore experience takes place in Disgaea 2 PC. It’s part of the sidegame/postgame that not only gives you the most ridiculous stages to face, but gives you an entirely new game mode with new rules and mechanics.

Before I go any further, I’ll tell you how to unlock the Dark World, as it can be unlocked at any point in the main story!
The only way to unlock the Dark World is by looking around in holt village and activating cleverly hidden switches. Here are the locations of said switches:

Once you activated all of them, you’ll get this message:

and the Dark World Guide will appear in Holt Village:

Talk to her a few times and she’ll prompt you to fight her. If you win, she’ll let you access the Dark World indefinitely, regardless of how many new game+’s or cycles you do.
Note that you have to at least complete the first few tutorials of chapter one in order for you to fight her, otherwise she’ll be a mute!

She’ll then gives you the basic information about the Dark World and it’s mechanics, those being:
1) The Dark Sun
2) Ascending

The Dark Sun is a constant stage hazard that gives off different effects at the end of each turn. Depending on the stage, the Dark Sun’s effects also change, so it’s never really the same thing twice (i.e. on one stage the Dark Sun revives enemy units every 2 turns and on another stage it deals 20% of ally’s max hp per turn). You can see what effect is coming up next by checking the Dark Sun report on the Dark World Stage.

As well, depending on the stage, the Dark Sun itself can either be really calm (e.g. with 1-5 stars) or EXTREMELY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PISSED (e.g. 30, 50 stars) Note that the stars indicate how much HP the Dark Sun actually has, not the difficulty, so don’t feel intimidated if the Sun God looks like he wants to commit genocide.

Why does it have hp? This ties in with the 2nd mechanic that the Dark World introduces called Ascension. Ascension is a new command that is only accessible in the Dark World, letting you send your own units to fight the Sun God itself! Depending on how strong your units are, you can either severely damage it to flat out killing it! This removes the random effects that could happen in the Dark World Stage until you complete it.

Note that when you have a unit ascend, you lose that unit for the rest of the fight and is considered dead until you revive it in the hospital.
IMPORTANT: If your unit has a felony stamp when ascending, it will not do any damage to it, but rather it will be consumed by the Dark Sun, adding the value of felonies from the stamp as extra levels for the enemies on the stage (the max value being 99). Fortunately, this doesn’t include gross felonies committed, so as long as a character doesn’t have a felony stamp on them, they’ll do damage to the Dark Sun when they ascend.

If you want a real challenge, do the Dark World stages with the Dark Sun still alive, otherwise if you don’t want to deal with its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just have a strong character (preferably level 500+) to ascend and kick its ass.

There are as many Dark World stages as there are many main story stages, which is pretty much all the story stages excluding tutorial and final boss stages. The process of unlocking them varies on the stage, (e.g. one stage you have to receive no damage and another stage you’ll have to make a tower of 9 characters).

This is probably one of the most tedious and annoying things in the game to do, since there is an actual purpose to unlocking these Dark World stages:

1) Some postgame content is locked behind a Dark World stage clear count.
2) The Dark World has 3 achievements tied to it.
3) Completing the Dark World 100% is the only way to get a special reward.

Unfortunately, doing a new game cycle resets your progress in the Dark World, meaning you’ll have to unlock all the Dark World stages AND clear all of them again, so I suggest completing all of the stages at least once (which is a pain in the butt to do) before doing another cycle if you’ve made more than 50% progress.

The Dark World: PRAISE THE ANGRY AS ♥♥♥♥ SUN GOD! (unlocking stages)

To save you time I made a list of all the cryptic ways of unlocking every Dark World stage in the main story (excluding the final boss’s stage cause it doesn’t have a Dark World equivalent) Note that there are some stages that can trigger their Dark World counterparts only by replaying it, so I suggest finishing the stage normally first before getting its Dark World equivalent:

I’ll be listing stages in this kind of format; A-B
a = the location of the stage
b = the stage itself

e.g. 1-2 is Town Fields, reflection pond.
there’s a special case for the coliseum, as it spans 2 chapters instead of the usual 1, but for the sake of consistency I’ll be breaking the coliseum as 6 and 7 respectively.

Additionally, there are some Dark World stages that warp you directly to the stage when you trigger it without any choice, so I’ll put a ★ next to them to warn you:

1-1: unlocked by default
1-2: finish the stage without taking any damage
★1-3: take damage from the enemy
★1-4: kill a green skull (ally or enemy)

2-1: clear the stage in 2 turns or less
2-2: clear the stage on the first turn only
2-3: complete the stage without moving more than 8 panels
★2-4: Make a 2 person tower

★3-1: let 11 or more turns to pass
★3-2: destroy a geo symbol
★3-3 make a 5 person tower
3=4: don’t throw

★4-1: destroy all the geo panels with a clear geo symbol
4-2: combine 5 enemies (this can be done by lifting and throwing them onto each other)
★4=3: combine all enemies
★4-4: let 30 turns pass

★5-1: allow an ally to be killed by an enemy unit
5-2: clear the stage with 5 characters or less
★5-3: Make a 8 person tower
5-4: Kill all the enemies using only tower attacks (this can be done by attacking with a unit that is currently lifting another ally)

★6-1: Make a 10 person tower
6-2: clear the stage with 7 characters or less
6-3: combine all enemies
6=4: clear the stage in one turn (just throw a prinny near the enemy)

★7-1: destroy all geo panels
7-2: clear the stage without taking damage
★7-3: combine an enemy by throwing it onto another enemy that is held by another ally character

★8-1: geochange one color (for instance red to yellow)
★8-2: Destroy the “no entry” geo symbol
8-3: Kill all enemy units with only normal attacks (aka no special skills)
8-4: Clear the stage without taking any damage
8-5: Build the bonus gauge about four (I suggest passing a bonus gauge up bill in the dark assembly before attempting the stage)
★8-6: combine an enemy by throwing it onto another enemy that is held by another ally

★9-1: move to a height of 64 DM (basically have a character stand on the tallest building on the stage)
9-2: clear the stage by moving 11 panels or less
9-3: build the bonus gauge up by 2 (once again, just pass a bonus gauge up bill in the Dark Assembly before entering the stage)
★9-4: Move a character on top of the center snake statue (has 82 DM)

10-1: Combine all enemies
★10-2: destroy all geo panels
★10-3: deal more than 5000 total damage to a single enemy
★10-4: Build the bonus gauge up by 3 (pass a bonus gauge up bill before entering this stage to make it easier)

11-1: clear the stage without taking any damage
11-2: don’t destroy any geo panels
★11-3: Deal more than 1000 total damage to a single enemy.
11-4: clear the stage with less than 4 characters
11-5: clear the stage using only normal attacks
11-6: clear the stage without taking any damage
11-7: clear the stage with only tower attacks

★12-1: combine all enemies
12-2: don’t destroy any geo panels
★12-3: make a 9 person tower
★12-4: make a 3 person tower
12-5: clear the stage with only one character
★12-6: deal more than 2000 total damage to a single enemy

13-1: clear the stage without taking any damage (poison damage doesn’t count)
★13-2: deal more than 2500 total damage to a single enemy
★13-3: destroy all geo panels
★13-4: deal more than 3000 total damage to a single enemy

Postgame/Getting the EX clear achivement: Prologue

WARNING, YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE MAIN STORY AND AXEL MODE AT LEAST ONCE. AND THERE WILL BE HEAVY SPOILERS IF YOU DIDN’T. ALSO, POSTGAME BOSSES WILL BE SPOILED. (but lets be real here, some people already spoiled themselves by looking at the achievement list anyways).

If you checked your games records via record keeper, you’ll notice an extra enemy section in Dark Records:

The postgame section will go over every single extra enemy you need to defeat in order to get the extremely hard to get “EX COMPLETE” Disgaea 2 Achivement.

Here are some things you need to know when diving into the postgame:

1) Once you defeat one, it will be recorded in your dark record for good! This means you don’t have to re-match them once you defeat them!

2) Most, if not all, of the postgame bosses need you to reach certain requirements in order to have access to bills that unlock their stages. Because of this, I’ll put the requirements you need next to the respective postgame bosses.

3) Some bosses will also force you to start a new cycle when you defeat them. In this case you NEED to start a new game+/cycle if you want the dark record to keep track on the bosses you defeated!

4) Most, if not all, of these bosses also have a lot of LORE behind them, so check out the “Disgaea 2 PC Trivia: Did you know?” section for more details.

5) As well, most of the postgame bosses also give you exclusively rare items when you defeat them! Some can only be acquired once per cycle, while others can only be acquired once per save file! Because of this I’ll be putting a ★ for rare items and ★★ for extremely rare items. For more details about the extremely rare items, check out the “BEST ITEMS IN THE GAME” section for more details.

6) On top of that, some bosses can join your team after you defeat them! So I’ll be putting a ✸ next to them. Some bosses require you to pass their bill as a senator while others will immediately join you once you defeat them, so I’ll make sure to put in detail whether or not it’s a case for every postgame boss.

7) Adell’s title will change if you beat certain postgame bosses. Any new title he gains in the current cycle will be removed after a new game+/cycle occurs.

Postgame/Getting the EX clear achivement: Part One

Postgame/Getting the EX clear achivement: Part One

Make sure you read the prologue to this section otherwise you’ll be confused!

**You don’t have to do any of these in a specific order (excluding some postgame bosses), as long as you have met the requirements!**

Item General, King and Item God

These ones are pretty easy to get, hell you can get all 3 defeated by the time you reach floor level 100 on any legendary item!

Item God 2

Item God 2 is a unique case, since the only way to encounter one is by going to floor 100 on a Rank 40 item (can be in the regular hub world or Land of Carnage). This will be gone over in more detail in the “BEST ITEMS IN THE GAME” section.

✸ Asagi

Pass the “Fight a Hero of Another Game!” bill that costs 100 mana at any point in the main story (You need to be on a new game+/cycle as well, otherwise the bill won’t appear). You need to have 33+ felonies on a character for the bill to show up for them. Once you pass it, clear the stage it unlocks.

Asagi Asagiri finally makes her debut in the Disgaea Series!

After you defeat her, you’ll get a ★★PostCard! On top of that, you now unlock the option of letting Asagi join your party! Just pass her bill as a senator and she’ll join until the next new game+/cycle.

In addition, if Asagi is level 2000 you can pass a new bill as a senator to turn her into a humanoid character! If you ever want to change her back as a moster-type, you can just pass a bill as a senator to turn her back into a monster-type.

She will come REALLY HANDY for the Final Super Boss so get Asagi (Monster-type) in your party when the time comes!

Kurtis

Pass the “Rescue the Defender” suggested by an EDF member as a Senator at any point in the main story. You can gain access to this by using 3 “defender cellphones” in battle. Then clear the stage it unlocks.

It seems as though Prinny Kurits has his hands full with an evil robotic clone of himself!

He’s not really hard, just defeat him and you’ll recieve a legendary quality ★accelerator, THE best item that gives you the most movement!

✸Proto-type/Robo Kurtis

Pass the “Rescue the Defender again!!!” suggested by an EDF member as a Senator at any point in the main story. You need to finish the first Kurtis special stage, and use another 3 “defender cellphones” in battle in order to gain access to the bill. Then clear the stage in unlocks.

It seems as though Kurtis now has his hands full with MULTIPLE evil robotic clones of himself! Not to worry though, as Captain Gordon, the Defender of Earth, comes to the rescue!

Once again, this isn’t hard, just defeat them and you’ll unlock the ability to create your very own “Mass Produced Kurtis” generic class!

In Addition, you can have Captain Gordon, The Defender of Earth, join your team! Just pass his bill as a senator and he’ll be in your party until the next new game+/cycle.

Etna

Defeat her in Chapter 3.

You should be able to defeat her now, so there’s really nothing more to say. Just be warned that you’re forced to get the Etna Ending and a new game+/cycle.

✸Prism Red

Pass the “Retun of the Prism Rangers” bill that appears in chapter 12-13. Requires 200 mana. Once you passed it, beat the stage it unlocks.

The Prism Rangers return with all 7 colors! They’re really really easy to defeat though, which is why I wouldn’t even show their stats.

After you defeat them, Adell’s title will be changed to “Prism Black”! As well, you can have Prism Red join your party until the next new game+/cycle. However, its probably the most time consuming, as you have to pass 6 bills as a senator (5 of which are called “lets be friends” from 5 of the 7 prism rangers, and the last one being Prism Red asking to join your party).

They’ll also hang out in Holt Village until your next new game+/cycle:

✸Priere

Pass the “Unleash the Fallen Maiden!” bill that costs 500 mana. You can only gain access to this bill in chapters 1-9 (You need to be on a new game+/cycle as well, otherwise the bill won’t appear). You also need 66+ felonies on a character for them to access it. Once you pass it, beat the stage it unlocks.

Overlord Priere makes a return in Disgaea 2 PC!

After you defeat her, you’ll receive a ★★Felicitation (a special monster weapon). You can also let Priere join your party by passing her bill as a senator. She’ll remain in your party until your next new game+/cycle.

✸Mid-Boss

Pass the “I want to see the ending!” bill that costs 400 mana. You need to be in chapter 1-9 and have 20+ hours on your SAVE FILE in order for the bill to show up. Once you pass it, just beat the stage it unlocks.

Mid-Boss is back!

After you defeat him, you’ll get the Mid-boss ending, and are forced to start a new game+/cycle.

Alternatively, after you defeated Mid-Boss at least once, in a new game+/cycle, pass the “I want to see the ending!” bill again. Instead of going to his stage, you can have Mid-Boss himself to join your party! Just pass his bill as a senator and he’ll join until your next new game+/cycle.
(this also removes the stage that “I want to see the ending!” bill unlocks too).

✸Marjoly

Pass the “Break the Mysterious Seal!” bill that costs 1500 mana. Need 99+ felonies on a character for them to gain access to the bill. Once you pass it, beat the stage it unlocks.

Marjoly returns!

Her fight is special because she has 3 “one of a kind” items equipped. You can only get one of each per save file, so I recommend stealing them from her. Any future re-fights you’ll have with her, if you stole one or all 3, each will be replaced with normal equipment.

After you defeat her, you’ll aquire ★★Sexy Panties! In addition, you will be able to recruit her to join your team! Just pass her bill as a senator and she’ll join until your next new game+/cycle.

She will be really helpful when facing against the True Final Super Boss, so have Marjoly in your party when the time comes!

✸Overlord Zetta

Pass the “Meet the Strongest Overlord!” bill in any point in the main story. It requires 3000 mana and have 10 Dark World stages cleared in order for it to be available. Once you pass it, beat the stage it unlocks.

Overlord Zetta appears! He’ll teach you what a REAL Strategy RPG is all about!

After you defeat him, Adell’s title is changed to “Badass Overlord”! Additionally, you can now recruit Zetta to join your team! Just pass his bill as a senator and he’ll join until your next new game+/cycle.

Postgame/Getting the EX clear achivement: Part Two

Make sure you read the prologue to this section otherwise you’ll be confused!

**Remember, you don’t have to do any of these in a specific order (excluding some postgame bosses), as long as you have met the requirements!**

Laharl

Laharl makes a return in Disgaea 2 PC as a secret side character! He’s unique because there’s not 1, not 2, but FOUR different fights you need to beat if you want to fill up that Dark Record! For the sake of consistency, I’ll be splitting up the Laharl fights as Laharl A, B, C and D respectively to match the Dark Record.

✸Laharl A

Pass the “I want to Fight an Overlord!” bill. It requires 600 mana and is only available in chapter 12-13. You also need 40+ hours on your SAVE FILE, steam hours don’t count! Once you pass it, beat the stage it unlocks.

Laharl comes back after you kicked his ass from chapter 11! This time, Flonne also appears and fights alongside with him!

This fight is a lot easier than the one from Chapter 11, as the highest enemy level is only Level 600. You shouldn’t have any problem with this fight tbh. After you defeat them, not only do you have Flonne’s defeat recorded in the Dark Record, but you’re treated to THE BEST cutscene in the entire series! (at least imo) I won’t spoil anything about the cutscene so you have to see it for yourself if you don’t believe me! After the cutscene is over, Flonne will join your party until the next new game+/cycle.

✸Laharl B

Pass the “Summon Laharl!!” bill that is suggested by Flonne as a Senator. You need to have Flonne in your party if you want access to this bill. Once it’s passed, beat the stage it unlocks.

Laharl returns for the 3rd time!

He’s exactly 100 levels lower than his Chapter 11 fight. After you defeat him, he’ll join your party until the next new game+/cycle!

Laharl C and D

I forgot which one is which so I’ll just title this part as “Laharl C and D”. Anyways you need to beat both of these fights if you want to fill up the Dark Record as usual.

Pass the “pick a fight with an overlord” bill that only shows up in Chapter 1. You need 5000 mana and after you passed it, beat the stage it unlocks.

Laharl shows up extremely early!

He has the same level as his Chapter 11 fight, but this time has has company with him.
After you beat him, you’ll receive the Laharl Ending, forcing you to start a new game+/cycle.

Defeat Laharl in Chapter 11

Pretty much the same as the one above, except he’s alone. After you beat him, you’ll receive the Laharl Ending, and will be forced to start a new game+/cycle.

Rozalin

Yeup, getting the worst ending is actually a requirement if you want to fill in that Dark Record and get the EX clear achivement!

Before facing the final boss of the main story, Adell needs 99+ felonies, 99+ ally kills, one of which needs to be Rozalin. Once you have those requirements, beat the final boss to unlock this fight.

Rozalin(?) shouldn’t really be a problem. The only reason being that she’s level 2000 and only has a lot of hp. The rest of the stats aren’t that high though, so you should be fine. When you win, you’ll get the worst ending!, forcing you to start a new game+/cycle. (If you have japanese audio on, you’ll get some really really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare fuel after the credits!).

✸Champloo

Pass the “Hardcore inst. Champloo” bill at any point in the main story. It costs 9999 mana, and you need to complete Axel Mode on your save file, as well as have 50+ hours on your save file (steam hours don’t count!). Once you pass it, beat the stage it unlocks,

Champloo, a supporting character from Disgaea 3, is here to teach you the Hardcore experience through cooking! He’s basically the Netherworld equivalent of Gordon Ramsay but with SPICY powah!

Once you beat him, he’ll join your party until your next new game+/cycle.

✸Raspberyl

Pass the “Hardcore inst. Raspberyl” bill that requires 9999 mana. You need to have champloo in your party, as well as 30 Dark World stages cleared for the bill to be available. Once you pass it, beat the stage it unlocks.

Raspberyl, a delinquent heroine of Disgaea 3, shows up to teach you the Hardcore experience through a lecture!

While the geo effects are really tricky to work with, you should be fine. After you defeat her, she’ll join your party until your next new game+/cycle.

✸Mao

Pass the “Hardcore inst. Mao” bill that requires 9999 mana. You need to have both Champloo and Raspberyl in your party, and unlock access to the Land of Carnage for the bill to be available. Once you pass it, beat the stage it unlocks.

Mao, the main character from Disgaea 3, shows up to teach you the Hardcore experience!

This fight can actually be pretty hard if you’re not careful. The Mass Produced Kurtis’s he has are programmed to immediately magichange with Mao after the first turn as shown below.

If you want the fight to go super smooth, have more than enough stats to beat him, or take out all the Kurtis robots by the end of turn 1.

After you beat him, Mao will join your party until your next new game+/cycle.

Tyrant Overlord Baal: The Final Super Boss

The big, bad Final Super Boss of the Disgaea Series is back! This time he’s much stronger than his previous incarnation from Disgaea PC!

Unlike the previous game, unlocking the Baal fight is actually really simple! All you need to do is complete 25 Dark World Stages, and his bill “Meet Tyrant Overlord Baal!” can be accessed, which requires 9999 mana. Once you pass it, Baal tower will be unlocked, and you can face against the legendary Tyrant himself!

His ability makes it so his stats (excluding hp and sp) double if he’s the only enemy unit left on the field (which in this case, is redundant since he’s literally the only one to fight!). Not gonna lie, if you’re unprepared this fight might take a while…

Once you defeat him, he’ll disappear, and you’ll receive the legendary Makai Wars item from him!

This is extremely rare since you only get one per save file! It’s also one of the strongest items in the game, so it’s worth having it around.

Unlike any other postgame boss in the game, you can rematch against Tyrant Baal! If you do any future rematches, he’ll be back as Prinny Baal! He’ll also bring 4 copies of himself, making the fight more challenging!

Just because he’s a Prinny doesn’t mean he’s a REAL Prinny! He can’t explode when tossed so don’t even think about doing that! He’ll also carry an exclusive Prinny Suit with him. Like the Makai Wars, you can only get one per save file! Prinny Baal will always have a Prinny Suit on him, regardless of how many times you rematch him, until you’ve stolen it from him. In that case, the Prinny Suit will be replaced with normal equipment.

As a warning, don’t let Prinny Baal be the last enemy standing! That’s because his ability will make his stats double after you kill his 4 copies!

Defeating both Baal and Prinny Baal is essential if you want to get the EX clear achievement, which is a no brainer. So you’re required to do this fight!

If you’re really want a challenge, you can try your luck against UBER Prinny Baal in the Land of Carnage!

However, if you want a REAL challenge, you can try your luck against the extremely rare, but really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ powerful Prinny Baal Pirate!

Thats right! Unlike the other pirates in the Item World, the Prinny Baal Pirate can only be encountered if you:

1) Defeated Prinny Baal in the Land of Carnage.
2) Only shows up if you’re on 91+ floors in a Rank 40 Item (Refer to the “BEST ITEMS IN THE GAME” section for more details)

The same can apply for Baal Pirates, except you only have to kill Baal on the initial fight for them to spawn.

WARNING, the Prinny Baal pirate shows up on a floor like a regular prinny pirate does! Make sure to check if its Prinny Baal! Also, it is not required to defeat the Baal Pirates for the Prinny Baal pirate to show up.

If you defeat the Prinny Baal Pirate with any character, Adell gains the exclusively rare “Lord Master” title and you WIN THE GAME!

….is what I WOULD have said if this was the PS2 version. Unfortunately for you this is the pc port of the psp version, and a much more powerful Overlord has dethroned Tyrant Baal as the Final Super Boss of Disgaea 2 PC…

The TRUE Final Super Boss!: The True Uber Lord

If you defeated all the other postgame bosses (which you should) and filled up your Dark Record you’ll notice that you only have 2 more enemies to kill! That’s because you have yet to face the True Final Super Boss of Disgaea 2 PC!

The only way to unlock the fight is to defeat the Prinny Baal Pirate in the Item World (yes this is a requirement!). Then, in the Land Of Carnage, you now have access to a new bill shown below:

Yeup the game is hyping this as the FINAL BATTLE! Pass the bill and you will be able to access the “Uber Lord” stage and you’ll get to face the TRUE Finall Super Boss of Disgaea 2 PC!!!

The Legendary Pringer X GO!

… and it’s extremely underwhelming! I mean, look at his stats!

You should have more than enough stats to take on Pringer X Go! if you were able to deal with the Prinny Baal Pirate! However, be warned as it has one of THE most annoying abilities in the entire series!

His ability makes it so he takes 0 damage from special attacks he already received!

After you finished, you pretty much win the game! No, seriously, you did it! There’s no more postgame bosses for you to beat now that you have defeated Pringer X GO!

If you try to rematch against him, there will be 8 of him! But they all have the same stats as the original so only do this for bragging rights!

The REAL TRUE Final Super Boss of Disgaea 2 PC: Unleashing the Land of Carnage…

Well… its too good to be true, because if you payed attention from the previous section I said that there was only 2 more bosses left before facing Pringer X Go! If you checked the Dark Record you’ll notice there’s only one more postgame boss to defeat.

The reason why Pringer X GO! wasn’t as strong as you expected him to be is because he’s REAL strength is sealed away in the Land of Carnage!

If you want to face the REAL TRUE Final Boss you need to pass the bill shown below (this is only accessible after you defeated Pringer X GO! for the first time)

I MUST WARN YOU. PASSING THIS BILL WILL ALSO MAKE THE LAND OF CARNAGE 1000 TIMES HARDER FOR YOU. ONLY PASS THIS BILL IF YOU’RE CONFIDENT IN DEFEATING THE REAL TRUE FINAL SUPER BOSS OF DISGAEA 2 PC, AS THE EFFECT IS PERMANENT UNTIL YOU START A NEW GAME +/CYCLE!

Passing this bill will SUPER CHARGE all the enemies in the Item World, as well as giving Both Prinny Baal and Pringer X GO! stats that will make you cry…

Here’s what the enemies in the Item World will be like after unleashing the Land of Carnage (you only notice the massive increase in stats when you’re at floor 90+:

Normal stats on floor 90-99:

Unsealed stats on floor 90-99:

Item God/Item God 2’s stats:

Unsealed Item God/Item God 2’s stats:

If you were overwhelmed with those stats you haven’t seen NOTHING yet!

Here’s the PS2 versions original REAL True Final Super Boss:

YEUP, MAX stats of 40 million and 160 Million HP! While you may assume that he is the Real True Final Super Boss he’s not! In fact this fight with the super charged Uber Prinny Baal is actually completely optional back on the PS2 and in this version!

However, that doesn’t even come close to comparison when you look at the REAL True Final Super Boss of Disgaea 2 PC, Unsealed Pringer X!

YES YOU’RE NOT SEEING THINGS WRONG! You have to deal with ALL 8 PRINGER X GO!’S with MAX STATS and 160 MILLION HP! THEY ALL HAVE AN ABILITY THAT MAKES THEM IMMUNE TO ANY SKILL YOU USED AGAINST THEM, REGARDLESS OF ANY PRINGER X GO! YOU USE IT ON!

And the worst part is, this fight is REQUIRED if you want to 100% complete Disgaea PC!!!

However, if you only care about getting all the steam achievements for this game, GOOD NEWS! You only have to defeat ONE of the 8 Pringer X GO!’s (assuming you defeated every other postgame boss) and you’ll receive your EX COMPLETE achievement! You just have to live with the fact that you couldn’t complete the Dark Record in your save file, as you need to defeat ALL 8.

Now I really hope none of you are cowards, because I can say that this fight IS winnable!, and I’ll tell you how to defeat Unsealed Pringer X Go! for you to complete the Dark Record in the next section!

Defeating The REAL TRUE Final Super Boss Part 1

So you want to go above and beyond and register Unsealed Pringer X in your Dark Record once and for all? Here are some things that are ESSENTIAL to defeating him.

Have a Magic Caster at Max Level and Max Weapon Mastery in Staves, along with Lovers that are a value of 25.

This will be your main damage dealer! While you can use any Humanoid character that can use staves here are some that I strongly recommend:

1) Magic Knights can deal the MOST damage as their ability makes them deal 25% more elemental damage, if you include their lovers with a value of 25, they’ll deal a total of 50% more elemental damage! Pick this unit if you want an easier time.

2) Pram has the best int aptitude in the game second to Marjoly. This allows her to gain A LOT of int so if you pick her make sure you give her 25 lovers to increase her ability and stats!

3) Pretty much any other humanoid unit with a good aptitude in int.

I personally used a Galaxy Mage, the 6th tier of Mages, to defeat Unsealed Pringer X.

Have a Legendary Quality Magichange Scroll Level 160.

Unlike other Mastery scrolls, a Magichange Scroll allows a monster to have better stats when using Magichange! This is IMPORTANT as this allows your damage dealer to gain more stats when a monster magichanges with them! Level 160 is the maximum benefits you can receive from it in case you’re wondering.

The only way to obtain a Legendary Quality Magichange Scroll is:

1) You’re guaranteed to receive a Magichange scroll from the Dark Court if you get the Magichange Self subpoena. While it is really hard to obtain, its definitely worth it! If you want to acquire one you have to Magichange and Magichange 2 with the same monster-type units on several different characters (this is what I did to get one). Be careful though, The Magichange Self Subpoena is in the “Everybody category”, meaning you only get one per save file!

If you want to obtain a Legendary Quality Magichange Scroll this way, just go to the floor of the baliff in the Supbeona, use a mr gency’s exit, save, and enter the Dark Court. If you receive a normal or rare quality Magichange scroll, reload your save file and try again, This can take you more than 4 hours if you’re unlucky, or less if you’re really lucky. Either way, this is definitely the faster option to obtain a Legendary Quality Magichange Scroll because….

2) The Animal Pirates Captain in the Item World always have a Magichange scroll equipped when you encounter them. It’s never a 100% guarantee since the odds of getting a legendary quality, let alone the actual pirate in the Item World, are really really really low!

HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean it’s not impossible! If you’re EXTREMELY LUCKY you can have one show up with a Legendary Quality Magichange Scroll!

In that case, you better make sure you have a spare bandit hand lying around in your inventory, otherwise you can’t get it from them!

Have a monster-type unit who can Magichange into a Stave be at max level, have 25 lovers, a Legendary Quality Magichange Scroll and Magichange Weight equipped, and at least 1 million int base stat. Also pass a “Increase Magichange turns” bill so it can magichange for 3 turns instead of 2.

The only monster units in the game that can magichange into staves are Slugs/Warslugs, Ghosts, and Marjoly. You can choose any of these as they’ll be important when dealing with Unsealed Pringer X!

I highly recommend using Marjoly, as she has one of the best int stats for a monster type.
Here’s the Marjoly I used (note that Secret Formula is just a renamed Magichange Scroll).

You don’t REALLY need this much int, you can get away with having 1 million int on your monster unit if it has 25 lovers.

The reason why you also need a Magichange Weight is because it also boosts the stats of the weapon the Monster Magichanges to! Unlike the Magichange scroll, you only receive one as a reward from the Dark Court if you get a Magichange Other’s Subpoena. As well, it doesn’t give any benefits if you level it so just get a normal quality one and equip it on your monster.

If your monster unit doesn’t have this much int for base stats, you need to reincarnate them to the point where you have at least 130-140+ bonus points allocated to their Intelligence stat

Have Asagi (Monster-type) with the ability to use Magichange 2 in your party.

She plays a REALLY important role because of her Ability, which will be discussed later on in this section. Magichange 2 plays a crucial role so make sure you passed that magichange turn bill on your stave monster!

Asagi’s level doesn’t matter, she can be any level as long as she can magichange 2 (aka the (C) next to her title).

Get perfected items (recommended with rarities of 0) that boost intelligence for your Magic Caster, as well as a Professional 100, and a Fire Fighter, Cryophile and Aeronaut innocents 100 each on their equipment.

This isn’t a no brainer, but you need to have perfected items on your damage dealer, the more you have, the higher their intelligence stat will increase!

For my Mage, I have 3 perfected items on her:

1) One perfected Omniscient Rod that’s int-oriented, renamed Flip Flapping (that’s a good anime I suggest checking it out some time).

2) One perfected Makai Wars that is int-oriented

3) and 1 perfected Usagi’s Journal that is in-oriented renamed Plen’s Diary.

The 4th item HAS to have a rarity of 0 for the extra 30%, so I used a rarity 0 Kitty’s Ears to increase my int and a rarity 0 accelerator for movement:

It is highly recommended to get a 4th perfected item that is int-oriented as it will give you even more stats! For the sake of those who are lazy to perfect a 4th item (like me) you can get away by doing this.

Defeating The REAL TRUE Final Super Boss Part 2

Have at least 2 Peta spells with a skill level of 50+

Combined with the extra elemental damage increase from Fire Figher, Cryophile and Aeronaut innocents (all with a value of 100), the extra 200% damage from weapon mastery of at least 16 in staves, having elemental spells at a higher skill level increases the damage EVEN MORE!

It’s going to be hard leveling up your damage spells as it takes A LOT of your time. But I have an easy trick for you to get those levels up faster than ever!

You need:

1) a mentor with a value of 300 on your damage dealer’s equipment, you can also put a armsmater of 1900 if you still need to increase weapon mastery.

2) Create 1 Dragon, 1 Cu Sith and 1 WarSlug. They all have an ability that makes them immune to damage from a specific element; Dragons are immune to fire, Cu Sith’s are immune to wind and WarSlugs are immune to ice.

3) Have A LOT of spare time because you’re going to do this for hours!

Once you have all of those requirements, head over to Cave of Ordeals 1. Kill all enemies except for 1 and then proceed to move your damage dealer to the empty geo panel there. Because it has a +1 attack effect on it, any attack you do makes you attack again! And don’t worry about the enemies, as long as you’re out of their range they won’t attack you! Then, bring out your dragon, cu sith or warslug depending on what elemental spell’s skill level you want to increase, and spam that skill on them!

Here’s a demonstration:

Be aware that the higher the skill level your elemental spell is, the more sp it requires to cast it!

Alternatively, you can test your luck in the item world and hope to find + 1 attack geo effects on the field. If you’re REALLY lucky you can find a geo effect with + 3 attack so you can cast 4 spells per turn!

The process of obtaining these high level spells is really time consuming, but its definitely worth it!

Also be warned that the more AoE you cast your spell, the less damage you’ll deal with it! But this shouldn’t really matter since you need to hit more than 1 Pringer X Go! anyawys…

I personally used 2 Peta Spells with skill levels at 49. However I strongly recommend having a skill level of 50+ for spells as it will do more damage the higher it is!

Have at least 5 MALE dedicated throwers with at least 11 movement each and a monster-type unit with a throw range of 6

ik it sounds sexist but trust me, this probably one of the most important factors when it comes to dealing with Unsealed Pringer X.

I used 4 Heavy Knights and Adell for throwers, alternating accelerators on each of them, and Prinny Kurtis for toss-n’-passing.

Lastly, have a Magic Knight that can cast Anti-Fire, Anti-Ice and Anti-Wind up to a 3×3 range for each

You NEED one in order to deal extra elemental damage! Otherwise it will make the fight much harder.

Bringing it all together.

Assuming you’ve met all the requirements its time to bring it all together! You need to make sure your damage dealer is ready in order to take on Unsealed Pringer X!

You need your damage dealer’s int to be close to 20 million when you magichange your monster to it (you CAN get away with having 18 million int but this is safer):

Next, you need Asagi to Magichange 2 to gain her ability:

This allows your damage dealer’s stats to increase depending on how many male ally units are on the field.

The maximum # of male units you need to have on the field is 6 (thats 5 throwers an a random male ally unit of your choice), giving you a stat increase that’s close to 34-37 million in int (note that you can get away with 34 or even 31 million in, hell maybe even less iirc with Magic Knights due to them dealing more elemental damage with their ability and lovers combined):

During the fight, 2 of your 5 throwers are GUARANTEED to die! Because of this, your damage dealers stats will decrease to nearly 29-31 million int (you CAN get away with 28-30 million int or lower at this part if you’re with Magic Knights iirc…)

Also, remember to increase the # of magichange turns your stave monster can last for by 1 via dark assembly! Otherwise you only have ONE TURN of Magichange 2!

Defeating The REAL TRUE Final Super Boss Finale

Once you have everything ready and accounted for, it’s time to FINALLY defeat the REAL True Final Super Boss of Disgaea 2 PC, Unsealed Pringer X!

When your ready, unleash the Land of Carnage, save before you fight (as always with any fight), and head over to Uber Lord, Neo FInal Showdown!

The music that plays when you fight Unsealed Pringer X is pretty lame not gonna lie, so I prepared a TRUE fight, using Pringer X’s theme from Disgaea D2, Black Screamer! If you follow the steps in the video then you should be able to defeat him once and for all!

Note that it’s not a 100% guarantee since you still have a chance to either miss one of the Pringer X Go!’s or one of them lives. In that case, reload your save file and try again. You can also just spend time leveling up your elemental spells and retry since the only other enemies that get super charged in the Land of Carnage are item world residents, Baal and Prinny Ball.
If you managed to kill all Pringer X Go!’s, CONGRATULATIONS! YOU FINALLY BEAT THE GAME!

NO I’M DEAD SERIOUS, YOU ACTUALLY DID IT! YOU MANAGED TO DEFEAT THE TRUE FINAL SUPER BOSS OF DISGAEA 2 PC!

If you left Unsealed Pringer X last, this is what your Dark Record should look like:

Bask in this glory, as you can now brag about going above and beyond, getting the Dark Record 100% completed!

Outside of getting the rest of the achievements (assuming you still need to get some… in which case it’s probably the Dark World achievements or something I dunno…) there’s nothing else for you to do!

Feel free to continue grinding, re-fighting Unsealed Pringer X and getting your other characters the best stats possible, as you are now a MASTER of Disgaea 2 PC!

Disgaea 5 items in Disgaea 2?

With the bizarre announcement of Disgaea 5 PC (aka skipping disgaea 3, 4 and Disgaea D2) , NIS decided to give a free update for Disgaea 2 PC that gives you some Disgaea 5 Weapons as a way of promotion.

It’s pretty simple to unlock these weapons, when attending the dark assembly with Adell (assuming you passed the “I want to be a senator” bill), attend the dark assembly and you’ll have access to 4 different weapon bills:

All of these bills will have a 100% approval rate so they’re practically giving them to you for free.

The weapons themselves are all legendary, but their stats are pretty okay-ish. You do not want to waste your time trying to perfect the stats on these items as rank 40 weapons still yield the most stats when perfected (although they are pretty good weapons to have in early postgame):

Here is what they look like in-game (note that my Pleinair has pretty high stats so that’s why the gun does a lot of damage :

The End… OR IS IT!?

Yeup that’s pretty much it. For those who read all the way through thank you for doing so! I hope this guide was really helpful to you when playing da grindan game! Outside of one or two sections this guide now has all the important (or at the very least MOST important) information about Disgaea 2 PC!

For now, I’m going to start on a guide for when Disgaea 3 PC comes to steam, so look forward to that! NVM, NIS decided to skip porting 3, 4 and Disgaea D2 to steam and jumped straight to 5!
